  1. Unless I am blind as a bat I didnt see the old wrecked boat off the side of discovery island when we came by. Last few times you could see it sticking out of the brush but I didnt see it this time. Anyone have any rumors of something going on at Discovery Island?

And today we finally got to meet rtguy007 and his two beautiful children!  They came by just as we were finishing dinner.  Such a great family.  Hope many of you will have the opportunity to meet them!

And this was after a great visit with the crabby ex-bus driver.

The people across the street from us on 703 are building a castle in front of their motorhome. And they have a life-size Cinderella's carriage replica. Can't wait to see it all finished.

It was great to meet you last night. Thanks for the tour or the lights. The kids have not stopped talking about riding on the golf cart. I am going to have to invest in one sometime before they get to old.

From my understanding in Texas that does apply but it's a different class of cdl then what a trucker has. But I have never looked into it because I wasn't heavy enough. And what I saw was just on a YouTube video so nothing official.

Thats what I vaguely recall with Ohio laws. I believe it is a specific type of cdl but I dont recall what it was. I am in the same boat where I am no where near that amount of weight with a TT but if/when I upgrade the truck I may move to a 3500 and will revisit the laws again. I do recall things getting weird once you got up over 26k when it came to your license.

I CAT scaled the rig today.

Gross combined without any passengers and full fuel was 25,700 lbs. Well below the 41,700 rating

Gross vehicle weight was 12,960 lbs. Max is 14,000 lbs. The 450 pickup is limited only on paper for its gvwr....as to not put it in medium duty territory.

Add approximately 700lbs to each number to account for 5 people in the truck.

Empty weight of the truck is 9,188 lbs. So the pin weight and hitch adds 3,772 lbs.

The trailer axles came in at 12,740 lbs. So approximating 3,500 for the pin...it puts the camper at 16,240 lbs with a 1/3 fresh water and a golf cart in the back.

Dont you have to have a cdl once you hit 26001lbs? Thought I read that somewhere when I was looking for my Ram 2500. Was considering a 3500 dually and the newer models put you into cdl territory with specific 5th wheel combos.

Hope you didn't get stuck in the horrible traffic coming back like we did.  Took us about 2.5 hours to get back to the Fort from Brandon.  About twice as long as usual.

We just got back about an hour ago. Didnt hit any traffic but it took us longer to get back. My oldest is working on homework at the moment and driving us crazy. Its been a long day.

    Great pics!

We rode FoP today. The wait time on the app was 210 minutes. Luckily, we had FP's. When we were exiting we got behind some people who had bailed on the standby line. They were irate....saying they had been in line for 4 hours and were going to get a refund.

Thats hilarious. Wonder how much luck they had with that.

Im sorry we have been on FoP. Its cool but I would never wait more than an hour for a ride and thats really pushing it for my tolerance level. If we dont have a FP and I can get one we ride what we can, do some people watching, and head back to the fort.

We should be home by mid-afternoon tomorrow.  I'll message you my cell.  If we're at the fort, we'll come home or to your site to meet you.

I feel you there. We are heading down to Ft Myers tomorrow to check it out. Trying to convince my wife to move to Fl when we retire. We both know people who moved to that part of the state when they retired and neither of us have been down there before. I have family in Lakeland and Boynton Beach but they are up in Ohio this week so we dont have family to visit this trip.

    Good for them!

Tomorrow morning we're having brunch at TE at 9.  Then driving to Brandon to visit my aunt.  Should be home by mid-afternoon.  Will message you my phone number.  If the cart is gone and you can come by, call me and we'll hurry back.

Been by a few times and you guys were out. Just wanted to introduce the family but have not seem you around.

    Are you guys there now?

Swung down your loop once but you guys didnt seem to be around.

Hoping to meet someone from the forum to out a face to a name.

  9. We have stayed in 1121 one time. It was a nice site but could be hard to back into with a big rig. My personal favorites are the outside of the 1200 loop and site 1325. Not sure why but I just feel at home in that area. Not really a fan of 700. Feels small and congested. That and I prefer a loop that has the entrance/exit at the same place. Again not sure why I feel that way.
