  1. We like 1200 and 1300. Problem is with some sites in 1300 you can back up to the canal and some sites in 1200 can backup to the road. They are really close to a playground bit both loops share a single comfort station and it can get busy in that comfort station in the mornings and at night.

1100 is a nice loop but you have to walk across the road to get to the same playground by 1200/1300.

I am not a fan of 1400 but that is because some sites back there seem to be on top of each other with little privacy compared to the 1100/1200/1300 loops.

Overall any loop at the Fort is going to be great. It is the Fort after all. Good luck and have a great trip.

Sorry that I don't have an answer to the question above, but I was wondering about the Pilot discount.  Do you have to have a special Good Sam credit card or does it work with the membership card?  What is discounted?  Thanks.

Good Sam members get a few cents off per gallon. It isnt much. I have noticed that some of the Pilots the Good Sam card doesnt work in and others it does. I think it is like .02 or .03 cents off per gallon. Since I carry the membership for other things the extra few cents off per gallon is nice. When I got my Pilot RV credit card I had to have the Good Sam membership. Not sure if it is still that way or not.

The only reason I got the credit card for Pilot is to start the Truck Diesel pumps without having to go inside and prepay. Those pumps dont always take Visa/MC.

  3. That is the area I dislike the most on our trip down. We never have enough gas to get to Valdosta and the Tifton Pilot to us seems a little shady. We normally fill up right north of ATL and we are at the edge of my comfort zone when we hit Tifton. Then again I use Pilots only so I can get my good sam discount and use the charge card we have with them for the truck lanes. Makes life simple.

LOL, that's not the 700 loop, it's the 900 loop. That space is the space behind site 905, which is where that permanent Lazy Days 5th wheel is parked.  That's the sewer lift station to the left in your photo, and to the left of that, outside the area shown in the photo, is the 15 minute parking for the trading post.  This guy stole my idea. Ever since the idiots in charge cleared all the Wilderness out of Fort Wilderness, I've joked that I would like to show up some day and pitch a tent in some ambiguous area behind two campsites, so the campers in each site would assume the tent belonged to the site next door.  The beauty of this guy's plan is that the Lazy Days trailer sits empty on most weekdays, and a lot of weekends too.  When and if guests ever show up there, they wouldn't know if that tent was supposed to be there or not.

This guy is a Real Man of Genius!  He has taken freeloading to a new level.

I really need to keep better track of where some of these pictures are from OR I need to visit the fort more so I can call them out. I am leaning towards option 2. We are trying to find a way to come down the 2nd or 3rd week in August after this last trip.

  5. When we were down last week we were a bit confused by what site this tent really belonged to. If I remember right this was between 700 and 800. Picture was taken from the other side of the main drag from around 600.

  6. For those who got to see it I am jealous. We were there but stuck in Liberty Tree Tavern halfway through dinner. Our reservations should uave given us time to see it. However the service was very slow in our section and we spent almost 2 hours in there trying to get out. We tried to extend our stay a night to see t tomorrow night bit the fort is booked solid. Looks like we wont get to see it in person until November. :(

Missed you again, rode by your site right before dark and no one was there.

We rode our bikes over to Wilderness Lodge and were just coming back from there about the time you were out riding around 9:45 or so.

Sorry, we missed you, we are leaving in the morning.

Thats actually pretty funny. That was aboit the time I was riding over through 1900 before riding up front.  Hopefully we will meet you some time.

I didn't realize that the entire 300 loop is closed.

We had a report a couple of weeks ago that the 1300 loop was closed for paving.

I came across this Notice of Commencement from a paving contractor- it looks like they will be doing repaving in the maintenance parking lot and at the cabin pool as well:

    NOC%20p%202_zpsfk6owe3t.jpg

    NOC%20p.4_zps8sbvff53.jpg

    NOC%20p.%205_zpsipmlcnxa.jpg

There was a post on this board about paving going on in the main parking lot this week.  That work isn't covered by this NOC.  Is the main parking lot being repaved?

Its hard to tell if it is being repaved or just sealed. The signs out front are not descriptive and the machines they had up there look like they are just to reseal everything. They had about half the lot closed yesterday or the day before. I dodnt payattention when I just came through there to see where things are. May ride up there later on the bike and take a look and see where things are at.

  9. When we cruised through ATL last thursday night there was next to no traffic around 8:15pm. We made it through in record time and didnt tap the brakes once. I am hoping for the same thing on our return trip.

Exactly.  People complaining makes a bad situation so much worse. It is certainly frustrating when thing don't go as planned, but cussing and throwing a tantrum usually don't help matters. Hopefully Disney made it right with the fast passes, and all you lost was a couple moments of your trip.  You are still at Disney, so all in all, probably not too bad of a day.

Yep they converted the 2 lost FP's to all day. We are using the second one now to see Nemo. My DD is so excited. My oldest was happy to see figment. All is good now that we are away from the grumps.
