Keep trying for that extra day, especially on May 1st, as sites have to be cancelled 5 days out

Been keeping an eye out all day. Will kee trying. Thanks for the tip. I can get a full hookup. But I really dont want to move once I am setup.

  2. Getting excited. Both kids think we are going to this place called 6 Flags when we are really going to the Fort. :P

Annual passes for the kids and I have been purchased. Since the wife isnt going this time we didnt pick one up for her. I was able to get the 13 month AP which I didnt think was being offered anymore. Glad to see that.

Got fast passes for most things setup but still no mine train FP's available.  Was hoping to see rivers of light but we will wait until November for that.

Got a last minute ressie at Chef Mickeys at 8:30 one day which really surprised me that it opened. Also have Ohana booked. Normally i only do one character bfast for the kids but since it is my oldests birthday we are going to do 2.

Only regret so far is not getting there on the 5th. I figured my vacation days wrong and have an extra day. To bad they are booked full for premiums the 5th otherwise i would be leaving a day earlier.

T minus 14 days and counting.

The break-even point is roughly 11 days (plus or minus)

We are planning on a week in May (would have bought 4 day passes) and 2 weeks at the end of November/beginning of December (would have purchased 8 or 10 day passes).

If we get season passes, we will also push for a trip in march or may next year to get the most out of our passes.

I'm confused about what you're confused about. ;)

In your first post you asked about the renewal date.

I'm guessing that "Ot" in your second post was supposed to be "Not"?

If you're not renewing a pass, then what Carol said is correct.  An AP purchased in advance becomes active the day it is first used.  An AP purchased at WDW becomes active on the purchase date.

    TCD

Ok i see the confusion now. Sorry about that. I meant would the renewal (or expiration) date be the day of first use or the day of purchase. Sorry about that.

So going with what Carol said, i should purchase something like the 10 day through mousesavers and just upgrade the ticket after I use it once. Is that correct?

  6. I am getting some conflicting information so I am turning to the fort fiends clan for help. Can someone help me clarify the following questions about annual passes?

Does the renewal date match the day of purchase or the first day of use? Wanting to purchase them ahead of time to get fast passes but dont want to lose almost 2 months on the tickets if I purchase early.

Is there anything special about the annual pass magic band other than the slider it comes with?

Do you find the food discount is beneficial?

Is the resport discount good on the cabins?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I've read several good things on Progressive...

I second the progressive. We use the same one and i wouldnt trust any other brand. They warranty is fantstic. It doesnt take much to install a hardwired one. I have done 2 of them. If you onow how to wire an outlet in a house you can install one of these. It takes about 5-10 minutes to wire in and maybe another 5-10 to mount it. Seriously this is a very easy self install if you are comfortable doing it. The beat part is everything is color coded so it is kind of hard to screw it up.

  8. Nacole,

I must be slackin. Dodnt know you actually bought a new rig. Knew you were looking. I wont provide any feedback on the bending of 30 to 50. However I will tell you that the hardwired option is much easier and provides security over the unit getting stolen. I have a progressive hw30c in my unit and love it. Dont have to mess with the cord and an adapter when using the ped. It makes life much easier. The remote module with display is eye opening. Cant tell you how many times that i glanced over to see we were operating under 120v. Sometimes as low as 108v and once 107v and it shut the power down. As i am sure tou know those little boxes are life savers in an emergency situation. I would stay away from the cheaper model if you do go that route. They are generally rated to take small hits but a larger one could still spell trouble. Just my .02.

    Congrats on the new rig.

On our second trip, we found a bikini top in the corner of the bathroom.  And then dropped the wet soap on the carpet in that sink area.  When I picked it up, it was covered in dark brown hair.  We are a family of blondes & redheads and had only been there a few hours.  Put the comforter from the bunk beds on the floor and noticed the dust on them when picking them up. They vacuumed when we asked them to, but felt we shouldn't have had to ask.  Had ants in the bathroom, but that was our fault for not cleaning the mugs out better.

Our last trip, I brought a vacuum. Before I could use it, we found a toe nail on the floor outside the bathroom.  And then I used the vacuum and filled the container. A Dyson compact, so not huge.  But still full.  The balcony was always wet, not housekeeping's fault. But the side wall was full of mold/mildew. We had an inside courtyard corner room.  The toe nail was the straw that broke his back though.  If we are going to be sleep in filth, it is going to be OUR filth.  LOL

So what you are saying is that you don't want to pay $400 a night to stay in a polished dust bin with the free mold upgrade and a prime view? It sounds like they went all out with the free upgrades. :P
