I am assuming you're at the MK now?
What about hopping a bus to Beach Club and entering Epcot via the International Gateway entrance?
TCD
We are at MK now. The contemporary only had disney springs and hollywood studios busses running according to the security and transportation guy there. We had our chef mickeys this morning so our options were limited at the time with the ECV. We lost our on 2 fast passes. Going to check with guest services and see if they can give us some free ones since we couldnt get to the park. There were aboit 30-40 people with us that had the same issue trying to get to EPCOT.
We are now on the ferry and the mo orails just started running on the resort loop. Talk about frustrating.

The resort monorails are down. Talk about a cluster. We have an ECV and are trying to get to EPCOT. The only option is the ferry from the magic kingdom. The security checkpoint on the walkway is backed up almost to the road. Talk about frustrating.

Many loops are half empty some three-quarters empty and the place looks like a ghost town.
The 300 loop and 1600 loop are completely empty and it appears they might be about to do some work on 300 as there is a machine in it.
They have put almost everyone on 1700, 1800, and 1900. The 1700 and 1800 have only one empty space in each and 1900 has only 12 empty.
Probably just the time of the year, but it's been some time since we have found it this empty. No traffic on the roads and no golf carts to dodge.
Hey which site/loop are you in and how long are You here? We are here until saturday morning.

The question is are the parks empty also?
Hollywood Studios was pretty busy today and looking at the wait for rides at MK, they were packed. 4 or 5 rides had at least and 80 minute wait over there.
I posted under loops but 1600 had 1 class a in there earlier when we rode the bikes through. They were doing tree trimming when we rode by. Not sure about 300 as we didnt head over there.
I will agree through, never seen the fort this dead. 1200 is about 2/3 full, 1300 is about the same, 1400 is about 1/3 full, not to sure but 2100 looks dead as well.
Tomorrow is a park day but if I get some free time I will try and check out some other loops.

Also, there is an old Fort Wilderness decal featuring Musket Mickey on the glass of the bulletin board on the front porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

I'm going to go hunt that down. I have the kiddos looking for Musket Mickey. They think it is a cool scavenger hunt.

1600 is getting a grooming today. There is 1 older class a in there and those people looked a little nervous. Other than that there is no one in there.

They seem to be testing out the new fireworks at the Magic Kingdom currently. Didnt check the clock when I started hearing them but it seems like it has been about 20 minutes since we heard the first one. Surprised to be hearing them since it is almost midnight. If what we are hearing is the new show it seems boomier but there wasnt a lot of boom at the end. Hoping to catch it friday night if it isnt a mad house over there.

Checkerboard?
Thats it. Figured someone would know that one. It is one of 3 musket mickeys that we have found left. 2 are on the checkerboard in the meadows and one is in the penny smasher almost right beside of it.

I didnt snap a picture but it looks like they are doing parking lot work up by the outpost. There are signs everywhere saying the lots will be closed from May 9th - 13th for work. If I remember correctly it is for striping. Will try and take another look tonight when we are up there to confirm. They are already blocking off rows to get the stuff out of overflow.

If your around Orlando, the Disney Character Store over off of I Drive has the limited edition 2016 MVMCP Magic Bands for $4. We just picked up 10 of them for when we are back down in November/December. They had a pile of them left you are in the area and interested.

I used to do fire hydrant repairs around here. Our local codes state that all hydrants must have a shut off. If the hydrant is damaged there is no way to shut off the geyser caused by cracking the shoe of the hydrant. I doubt florida and ohio hydrants are any different in design.
-
Wow. So i am assuming 1300 is still being repaved and closed. If they shut down 500 then that is 2 full loops out of commission. WTH Fort management.

We will be there next week. Hoping to catch both Wishes last night and the new show before we leave.

I would think so...especially the closer you get to 8p. Check the baseball schedule as their silly new stadium is now on 75.
Great tip. Just looked at their schedule and they have a 7:35 in Atlanta. So the closer to 8 we are the better it sounds like.

That was one of the post I have read regarding 95. For us 75 is a better option as fuel stops seem to be better timed with the flying j/pilots so I can use my rv credit card at the truck pumps. Never tried using another truck stop.
7 hours ago, twiceblessed....nacole said:As you know, traffic in the Metro Atlanta area is always horrible... the drivers, of course, are simply "lovely" (). We stay away from the 85 closure. I believe if you drive through during the odd (non-peak) hours, you'll be okay. I don't believe you'll see a huge difference during those times. Have a great trip!!
Do you think if we came through at 7-8pm at night thursday night that Atlanta will be ok? Normally that is about the time we roll through there and it isnt usually to bad. Not sure with the 85 mess though of that will mess with things.

Thanks for the feedback. I faxed my request in an hour or so ago. Requested 1325, 1218, 1221, or 1124. We will see what happens come next friday.

Keep trying for that extra day, especially on May 1st, as sites have to be cancelled 5 days out
Was able to snag friday night so we are set. Will be arriving on the 5th. Cant wait.

Coming in from central ohio next week. Normally I go 75 bit am concerned with Atlanta with the 85 issue. Is the 85 closure impacting 75 traffic that much? Debating on if I should go 77 but I do t want to deal with the crappy roads when we hit 95.
-
Also, what are other good sites in the 1200 loop. We have a 35' TT amd we like some space between sites of possible. Want to be near the meadows but dont want 800, 900, or 1400.
-
I am getting ready to fax in my site requests. I am hoping 1300 is open and i can snag 1325 again. I am not holding my breath though. I am going to request 1325 and 1124 as we have been in both sites and liked them. Looking at the FF site app, i like the look of 1218. Anyone stayed in this site before? How hard is it to get into (i know it says very difficult but my moderate was easy to get in last time). Does the road run behind he site?
Thanks in advance.

Wow. Bet there will be complaints over that. Still hope they are done before we get there. We like the 1300 loop.

Ahh didnt think of that bus from the MK. Thanks for the tip. The kids are still happy from Chef Mickeys which is more important to me than getting to Epcot. It is all of the other people that are complaining that are making it bad. Guess I am more frustrated with that than anything.
