    I think that's a good guess.

I also assumed it has something to do with the Americans with Disabilities Act, but my question was why use a projector for that?

They have all kinds of other stuff painted on the ground, so, if they need to mark something for the ADA, why not do it permanently rather than relying on a projector, which can get bumped, or not work, and probably won't be visible in bright sunlight?

As usual, you raise good points.  The fact that it is a lighted projection indicates to me that whatever its purpose, it only needs to be seen at night.  Otherwise, as you suggest, permanent paint would be a better choice.

  2. The rope fencing is up, but seems shorter than at the Fort.  Perhaps to maintain the view.  The animals will get you sign is up as well.

We talked to a suit (with a DISNEYLAND name tag) roaming around the outdoor vacant space adjacent to the restaurant and inquired as to its intended purpose.  His reply was it is to be used for an outdoor game/recreation area.

I told him that the new bar/restaurant seemed to be doing very well.  He replied that it is far exceeding expectations and that there are preliminary discussions about expanding it.

  3. There is much construction on both sides of the Magic Kingdom Gate area.  I heard different reasons from different CMs, but the most plausible seems to be that Disney is moving the gate towards the MK.  The reason is to permit we Fort dwellers and the car care traffic access to the roads we use without stopping at the gate.  This, in turn, will shorten lines at the gate area for those going on to the MK.  Fact or Fiction?

  4. DW and I ventured over to the new Geyser Point dining area this am.  We give it two thumbs up.  First the setting is gorgeous, sitting just off the shore of Bay Lake.  If you consider the building as a rectangle, then 3 sides are open, with views only slightly impaired by structural supports.  The 4th side of the rectangle is the kitchen/lines/bathroom areas.  In the middle of the rectangle is the bar and bar stools.  Surrounding the bar area are a number of tables and chairs (mostly with comfortable cushions)  that entice you to slow down and enjoy the view.

We had a breakfast meal there.  The scrambled eggs we had were fresh and obviously did not sit under a warming light.  Our bacon was Canadian bacon.  We did not know that was an option.  The server did bring us "regular" bacon at our request, but it was a bit under done in our view.  We also had a fresh fruit plate that was very good.  A big, pleasant surprise for us was a server brought out our meal on real plates, real utensils, and a real napkin.

So all in all, a substantial improvement over Roaring Fork, both in terms of ombiance and food quality.

  5. Went to one of our favorite places to dine last week, the Liberty Tree, in the MK.  We went for lunch expecting to savor some of our favorite meals.  They were gone from the menu.  In fact there were only 3 entrees listed, a pasta dish, a salad, and a cheeseburger.  There was some option for turkey/etc. meal with sides.  Gone were the pot roast & pilgrim feast.

I questioned a long-time cm about this, and this person just lamented that the staff can't figure out why the two best sellers for the LT were removed from the lunch menu.

This cm told me that I could still get pot roast, but the sides would be different.  So, this we ordered the pot roast. It was good but different.

So, Disney management, why did you remove the two best sellers from the lunch menu?  How many places in the MK do you need to sell cheeseburgers and salads?  You guys killed my wanting to return to the Liberty Tree for lunch.  Guess I'll just return to thr RV now.  Thanks a lot.

  6. Looked at it again today.  It sits on a concrete pad and has it's own very robust power supply.  The folks that built it, put on a front end treatment that looks like an old Winnie Brave.  But, the chassis seems more substantial than an old class C RV.  My guess is the folks who built the safari vehicles at AK, did this one as well.  It also sports a Florida plate so it may be street legal.

    $50 at Outback!!!

    thats crazy!

we have the best steakhouse in the USA right here in Oklahoma City...cattlemen's.  It's in the historic stockyards just south of downtown

Its been featured on the food channel many times and visited by presidents and vips from all over the world

Its not one of those steakhouses were they bring you a steak with a fancy sauce on it. It's just great beef cooked to perfection.

But anyways. You can get a 16+ oz t-bone   Or rib eye steak with all the fixings for about $26.00 or $27.00

We agree about the Cattlemens in Oklahoma City.  Great place, good prices.  We especially liked the "parking lot shuttle".  BTW, the Western/Cowboy museum in Oklahoma City is first-rate as well.
