This Friday (like today?!) or next Friday.  It's possible that things are changing moment by moment so they probably felt that Monday was a safe date.  If the winds do damage, they'll need time to clean up.   I can't imagine it being any later than Monday (and I'm guessing Saturday or Sunday)...unless the property is a huge mess.

this Friday, as in today, sorry for the confusion.

  2. We were supposed to arrive on Saturday.  I saw it posted somewhere where the fort would be closed thru Sunday - I called to see what my options were, and I was told they could move us to a Monday check in as the Fort would not be allowing check-ins until Monday.  I wasn't given any other option, so we are checking in on Monday.  Having to redo fast passes really stinks - all the good ones are gone.

And after 6 hours on hold and getting it all rescheduled , I received an email saying the Fort would only be closed through Friday (10/7)...so I have no idea when they will be open.  I think that emails and the CMs information should all match.

We are home.  750 mile trip going through Atlanta.  Not happy to be home but happy the ride is over.

Now I'm off to the doctor to see if I broke my foot last night when the door of the moho refrigerator fell on it.

glad you made it home safely! Uh oh on your foot!  Hoping it's not broken!

  4. I just ended a phone conversation with a cast member who informed me that as of this moment, there will be no check-ins at the Fort until Monday.

That it could change, depending on the storm...could be closed longer, or could open sooner.

We can cancel our plans w/o penalty or they can modify our stay to make it longer -  sadly, after waiting 1.5 hours to talk to him, I couldn't give him an answer as we are traveling with others, and we have to figure out what we are going to do.  I am so bummed

In the past 2 years I had used Josh's as well but he hasn't updated them since earlier this year. He gave an explanation in the forums on his site, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

EDIT: I found the post on his forum: http://www.easywdw.com/forums/showthread.php?33926-April-2017-Crowd-Calendar&p=368377&viewfull=1#post368377

Please don't put me in timeout for posting a link to another forum.... Just poof the post if it needs to go away

I knew I had read an explanation somewhere, but couldn't remember where.

Makes me wonder what October is really going to be like.

You want the Nassau experience without actually spending the time to leave the ship?  The day before you board your cruise, go the local Cocoa Beach Walmart.  Find an aisle full of crappy Chinese made trinkets.  Ask a few Walmart employees to badger you into buying these trinkets, then close your eyes and pretend that the Walmart doesn't have any walls.  Bam!  You are in the Straw Market.

Then, after you leave the Walmart, head to one of the crappy beachside bars near Ron Jon and ask the bartender to make you a tropical drink with the cheapest vodka he has, only he needs to replace half the vodka with water.  Bam!  You are at Senor Frogs.

Do this and there's no need to get off the ship at Nassau.

I agree - We were not impressed with Nassau. We skipped Senor Frogs - we just wanted back on the ship!
