  1. Maddie is a doll! I love the name Madeline, it's on my list of baby names. I can't get over the weather you had! We went last year for New Years and froze! We needed hats, scarves, and gloves and here is Maddie in shorts! Waiting for your next update--I can only imagine how exciting Christmas morning is at WDW
  2. If I happen to win the One more Disney day trip, I'd pick DL. Thanks for the comparison! Looks like gloomy weather each day you were there though
  3. All the Fort pictures are wonderful! I'm glad to see things will be green for my visit. I am loving all the pictures of the treats. I need to try the carrot cookie (Starring Rolls or Writers Shop?) and the waffle!
  4. I was 'ehh' about this dining experience. It's all dependent on your table location. We had to crane around people's heads to see a screen and weren't able to really view any of the wall decorations. Breakfast on the last morning is held in the previous night's location. That meant two mediocre meals : / I did want to bring home that bread basket though. The technology is the same used at Turtle Talk in Epcot and Laugh Floor in MK. I believe the Animator's Palate will be different on the Fantasy. I was trying to capture the neat elevator decor. A Mickey hand displays the current floor.
  5. Our last full day on board was spent at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. If you want island paradise, look no further. The crew was loading trailers to deliver to the shops and bars. Towels everywhere! I enjoyed not having to worry about carrying around a towel from my room. I'm sure the laundry workers did not enjoy today though. We were one of the first people off the ship and on the island. The storm damaged the Flying Dutchman and it had to be removed. An employee I spoke with said everyone is hoping they can receive the ship from the latest movie. I was bummed to have missed
  6. We stayed outside till late afternoon and then went back to the room to get washed up. We decided to skip the stage show that night and instead went to the Buena Vista Theater to watch The Muppets. It was a great movie experience. No outrageous ticket prices and only a handful of other people. The movie ended with enough time to get changed for dinner. Our dining room that evening was the Royal Palace. As the name suggests, this was the most extravagantly themed dining room and my favorite of the three. Tonight was Pirate night. After dinner we headed up to the pool area to snag a spot.
  7. Thank you, thank you! We have been saving for a while and it's a wonderful feeling to know it's ours. I'm very sure Mr.McGyver will find some other way to make trouble for himself. It has a hot water heater, a/c, heater, fridge, outside shower, queen and king bed. I need to pick up a small microwave and we'll be all set for comfort. I'll PM once I know something!
  8. I need to hijack my own report to show everyone some pictures of our new baby DH found it on Tuesday, had a hitch installed on my Jeep and traveled to pick it up yesterday, and we have already loaded in most of our stuff. I can't believe how much our camping preparation has been simplified already. This has been a long time coming and we are ready to introduce it to the Fort in less than two weeks! I'll come back to the Dream tomorrow. It's been a busy week, sorry for the delay!
  9. Back on board we ordered room service. Mickey Bars are one of my favorite treats to get at WDW. They aren't easily accessible on the ship though. You can order through room service (and they expect tips) or you can get in the dining rooms off the children's dessert menu. There is a soft serve ice cream stand near the family pools for unlimited enjoyment though. We knew we weren't going to spend much time actually in Nassau. In preparation the day before, we had purchased passes to the Rainforest Room in the Senses Spa. Passes cost $16 per person per day or $75 for a couples pass for the entir
  10. I had set my alarm for 7am the next morning. I usually have to be at work at 7 so I managed a little extra sleep. I didn't want to waste any of my precious time aboard. We had breakfast on the back porch of Cabanas. If you forgot, this is the magic spot. We hadn't reached Nassau yet and there was a nice sea breeze. Soon enough we were pulling into port The Atlantis Resort Here's proof I was on this trip!---not many pictures when you're the photographer We had decided against any excursions to save money. We hadn't visited Nassau before but family and friends had shared their experien
  11. That evening we attended the first showing of The Golden Mickeys and had dinner at the Enchanted Garden. The premise of the Enchanted Garden is that it transforms from day to night during the course of the meal. We were sitting in the back corner of the restuarant and didn't get to experience much of the atmosphere. We took a walk around Deck 4 after dinner. Just imagine the sea air, gentle breeze, and quiet relaxation while walking with your spouse. It's a must-do for me! Turndown service had been completed while we were at dinner. The brochure lists all the activities planned for th
  12. I went back to the room to wake DH and we headed up top for the Sailaway Party. This is the adult pool area. There are comfortable lounge chairs and seating, a hot tub, a coffee cafe, and a bar. The spa is through the doors on the right.
  13. So we ended after seeing the outside of the dining rooms. I'll have interior shots later. The children's area was having an open house while in Port Canaveral. I went and toured and wow, I want to be able to play in there! Most of deck 5 is the children's area. If some parents are thinking of a cruise, rest assured your child will be very entertained! There is also a pre-teen area and teen area but I did not visit those.
  14. I'm sorry for the delay. I had every intention of getting a post up yesterday but wasn't able to get online. I'll get one up next. I got a new camera for Christmas and this was the first big chance I had to use it. So far I can use the auto mode and no flash mode. I can't wait to see what it can do once I learn how! And yeah, lucky Lou! Oh it's wonderful! Board the ship and all you have to worry about is what to do and what to eat. Hopefully you can show him this report and use it to your advantage. I came and read your TR once we booked. It helped me get excited (as if I needed any help lo
  15. I'll have the next update up tomorrow afternoon. A lot more of the ship in store for you! Wow Lou, that's a great rate! Be sure to come back and write a report for us! People were either still boarding, eating lunch, or up top for the Sailaway party. The rest of the weekend was much more crowded however.
  16. After our delicious meal at Cabanas, DH went back to the room to nap and I toured the public areas before things became too crowded. Right outside our door. The hallway noise never bothered us though. Instrumental Disney music was played over the speakers and it made for a very calming environment. The main atrium where the character appearances happened Their picture organization system puts Princess to shame I just love this mosaic style of art This hallway led to the shops and the Walt Disney Theater The shops are only opened when the ship is at sea. It can make things pretty crow
  17. Do CMs get discounts on cruises like they can for resort reservations? I see your tickers say 1 year till your cruises. Wow, I'm impressed with your patience! It will be worth it though. We loved our room, it was very comfortable! However I've looked at the interior rooms and they seem just as fine. Whatever is cheapest works for us!
  18. Who's ready for a trip on the Disney Dream?? Our story begins on Saturday, January 21. I was just surfing about and started browsing the DCL website. I was curious to see if they offered last minute specials like other cruise lines I had researched. The Dream was leaving Thursday, January 26 for a 3 night cruise and still had each category of rooms available. We had planned a trip to go last October but had to cancel and use that money towards a trip to visit family in Arizona. The price of a balcony room was hundreds less than what we would have paid for an interior room. They were offering a
  19. http://www.amazon.co...26238387&sr=8-1 This book talks all about the land acquisition for WDW and creation of RCID.
  20. I'm sorry for the disappointment! I cleaned out some things on photobucket that were showing up on older trip reports I don't visit anymore. I guess I didn't pay too much attention. I'll try to get them reposted asap :D
  21. Great report, you are doing wonderful! I also live in GA and we had AP from May 10-May 11. We took 10 trips...don't feel so bad about your 4! I love the RV tree! We purchase an ornament on each trip and have a special tree for all of them. It's a great tradition.
  22. Oh how I wish I was in the 1500 loop again for this New Years! It's nice to have some detailed pictures of these items. Most of the time when I'm at WDW, there is so much to look at and I start to feel overwhelmed. Sensory overload! Can I put in a request for you to do a researched tour of Main Street?
  23. Directly down the road past the shopping plaza (very good selection of stores) with the (regular) Target, there is a mall (you want to avoid it), a Sams Club, Lowes, etc. To the left of the interstate there is Macon State College. This used to be the happening area of Macon but has gone downhill in the recent years. They have built a new outdoor mall in North Macon, it's off I-75, exit 172 I think. All the crowds and development are springing up in that area. I'm glad to hear you had a positive experience!
  24. Oh man, Disney eating doesn't compare with real life. It seems we need a snack every hour or so. I suppose all the walking we do creates a large appetite... We went back the next day (was Sunday morning) and parked before they opened. We got a nice spot but everything was full when we left an hour later. Couldn't believe the number of people! Haha thanks Dave for being on my side!
