That evening, we visited with Grumpy and Grandma, Lou and Gail, and Aaron and Kelly and kids. Someone took pictures, hopefully they'll post them sometime. <br />Wednesday was our first HS day. I didn't take any pictures, so I'll move on to Thursday and our Biergarten reservation. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />

We also got to see my favorite, the gorillas. I didn't get any pictures of the moms and adorable babies, but I got this picture of one of the males with his blanket on. <br />

Tuesday morning we headed to AK for opening while the girls, the baby and I met Mickey and Minnie and walked the Asia Jungle trek. <br /><br /><br />

On Monday afternoon we headed into MK where we got to meet a long time friend from an old Disney message board. She is also a member here because they are thinking about getting a camper. I can't recall her username though. We had fp plus for Belle and both of the girls had parts. <br /><br /><br /><br />

The next morning we thought we were getting site 1218 since Grumpy had graciously went to the front desk previously to ask them if we could get a site in the 1200 loop and they had told him they would assign us 1218. Someone was in it so we thought we would just wait casually until they left. Bill and Grumpy went to get the golf cart and the kids and I waited at the Fort. Well, we waited amd waited and waited until it became clear that the people in 1218 were not leaving. Went to the front desk and they said that we were assigned that site, but the people had extended their stay by a week. The CM at the front desk showed us what was available and we picked a site in the 1300 loop. We really like it except for the fact that everyone cuts through our site to get to the bus stop and sidewalk behind us.

<br />We were assigned 727 which was small for us, but fine since we were moving sites the next day. We quickly hooked up, had some dinner, headed over to visit with Grumpy and Grandma and we're surprised and happy that we also got to visit with Lorna and Bob.

I thought I would start a trip report of sorts to share little updates and pictures. The 10 of us have been here.since January 24th and will be here until February 20th. So, I'm a week late in starting. I'll try to catch up this past week quuckly. <br />We left home at 6am on the 23rd. We had good clear roads all of our first day. There was some rain and fog, but nothing probematic. We made it to our first stop, south Chattanooga KOA at 6pm. Had a quick dinner of corn dogs and soup and soon after we retired for the night. <br />Up again and on the road by 6am and had another smooth driving day. We always plan to stop 2 nights on the way down just in case of bad weather, but it was clear we would easily make it to the fort on the 2nd day. So, I checked the Disney website fully expecting not to be able to get a site for that night, but we did! We arrived at WDW at 5pm.

The readers at the comfort stations are really really sensitive. You only have to walk within about 3 feet of the laundry room door and it will chime and unlock if you are wearing a magic band. It does this even if you have you hands in your pockets.

 

Wow.  I wish the resort gates would work like that.

 

Are the restroom scanners the same way?

The restrooms have never been locked when I have been there. I go to bed fairly early though.

 

Yeah, they aren't locked until midnight.

 

So, please set your alarm and go like at 3 am and let us know.

Sorry, but no.

Most of the time the resort gates have been working the same way. You don't even have to stick your arm out the window to open the gate. Most of the the time.

The readers at the comfort stations are really really sensitive. You only have to walk within about 3 feet of the laundry room door and it will chime and unlock if you are wearing a magic band. It does this even if you have you hands in your pockets.

It went really well, Kristie! No problems at all and we actually got here a night early!

The 1200/1300 comfort station magic band readers were completed today.

We'll be there October 25th- November 20th. It's going to be sad without Grumpy and Grandma though.

Yeah, I have to store the dirty laundry in laundry bags in the van. Lol. And I do take up all of the machines when I do laundry.

Kristie, I do laundry every 5 days and then use 4 or 5 washers.

Oh, I thought you said December. Hopefully we will be there in the first part of November. We need to make our reservations now.
