  1. Wow... I go away for just a little (from FF anyway, havent really gone anywhere lately) and all of a sudden everyone is messin w us Jersey ppl... (even though I'm really a South Phila girl who was transplanted here) I will add that this Jersey family will be there for Halloween and Jersey week this year!!! And I agree with Beckers- what accents? Y'all from the south talk a bunch funnier than we do!!! When we moved down years ago, our neighbor gave us a Redneck to English dictionary!!!!! I'm just sayin is all.... :user2552:
  2. Well, we decided to go with the Passport Ultralight 3220BH.... It has every option we wanted and is light enough for us to tow and then some. The bunk room has a slide out so there is plenty of room for the kids, a huge slide out in the living area, U dinette... plus the mini outdoor kitchen. Theres also plenty of room for the dogs too, which will come in handy once Abby grows up! Just finished the finance application, so now just waiting to see if we get approved. They said it can take as long as 5 weeks to have it delivered, so even if everything goes through, seems like I'm gonna be stuck
  3. We know the floorplans we like/need... I need to have 4 bunks, cause I dont want to deal with dropping the dinette and sofa every night etc and I want the kids to have their own "room" so if we are in the main part of the trailer after they go to bed, it doesnt bother them. We were set on a Cherokee bunk house and just stopped by the other location because they had a Jayco on closeout, so when we were talking to the sales manager, he basically told us that the Cherokee wouldn't hold up well enough for having 4 boys. Does that sound accurate? Are they not good quality trailers? Another questio
  4. Thanks! I'll keep it all in mind :-) I'd really love to be able to find a model with the larger bunk house over a larger main bedroom. Just figure the kids are going to need more room than I would for all of their crap. Guess I have more research/shopping to do... 23 days and counting to make a decision....
  5. OK, we bit the bullet and decided that the pop up has lived its life and I need to have something with a full kitchen and bathroom... We considered a hybrid at first cause Matt liked the floorplans with the cargo beds on the front, but I am sick of dealing with canvases and just ready to be able to back in, hook up etc... We know we want something with a bunk house,a full separate room not just the beds off to the side... and we want one with the larger U dinette...and definitely has to have the slide in the main area. I'm planning on spending the majority of the summer in this and in the nea
  6. Well, we made it home yesterday... I always hate leaving the Fort, which is why we extended our trip 2 more days and instead of leaving Thursday we checked out on Saturday We had an awesome week, the weather was wonderful. We did see Donnie on Friday night and YENSID, Donnie mentioned that was you, but we didnt know what site you were on or would've stopped back by to chat. ImDownWithDisney, its not too bad... we shift drive, start out about 8pm so the kids sleep most of the drive, food and potty breaks when we fuel up and set the cruise at about 70... we've made the drive so many times when
  7. Hey y'all! Decided to check in and post a mini live trip report of our adventures thus far :wave1: Well, we finally made it down here late Friday night... what an adventure that drive was!!! What should have been a 14 hour- ish drive ended up being 20+ hours cause my lovely truck decided to die on us just as we hit Jacksonville!!! Luckily, a good friend of ours was nearby and able to pick us up at Pep Boys and we spent the 4 hours at his house while they replaced our fuel pump. filter and lines :banghead: So we get here, check in, and they put us back in 2002- which with Misty, we can't stay
  8. :rofl2: We used to say that Huggs was shedding a Rudy dog!
  9. I'm just basing off of when Huggs blew her coat, she was about 9mo old... and a 9mo old Newfoundland puppy has a lot of hair to shed!!!!!
  10. We have doggie tumbleweeds blowing around the house from Misty... I can only imagine what its gonna be like when Abby blows her puppy coat!!!!!
  11. Monique, She also suffers from extreme reactions to flea bites, so in addition to her Advantix we also use a water spray mixed with lemon and lavender oil and spray her with that daily to keep the fleas away to keep them from biting her in the first place cause just one bite will cause the dermatitis to set in... poor thing has had skin problems since we got her as a pup :-( Her vet said that there isnt anything that will actually repel spiders though... thats why I was hoping someone else might have happened upon something that helped. Though I am going to give her the coconut oil and see i
  12. ok... maybe y'all can help Misty out then... cause everything her vet suggested, we tried and so far nothing has worked... shes been suffering from spider bites ( we spend most of our time in the basement rec room which gets tons of tiny spiders) and she has been scratching relentlessly. We've tried benedryl, didn't help at all... she already takes an omega 3 supplement every day and has a prescription shampoo. It seems no matter what we try for our lil girl we can't help her with these bites. She's constantly itching to the point now that she is pulling hair out...
  13. Hey all... joining the group a lil late I guess... I've been kinda hiding out this year as some of you who I've talked to know... We;ve had some more severe issues with our oldest who was originally diagnosed with Aspergers when he was 7. He's now 12 and Last November into December he had a major meltdown which started over a bullying incited that got way out of control at the school he was in. We took it to the Guidance level, and even the Principal, but even though he is an IEP student in a "self contained" class, they said its just how kids are, he isnt really being bullied, he's just think
  14. Thats an awesome setup!!! I love the floorplan and the toy hauler!!!! Fingers crossed!!!!
  15. The canal sites are near and dear as 1509 (if memory isnt failing) was our first site at the Fort. I love having the grassy area behind the site for the kids to pay on, being close to everything, and with the PUP we don't need the full hookups. Granted if there is a group, we'll book with everyone to stay together, but otherwise, my top preference is 1500 :rofl2:
  16. Here is our Misty. She is a Goldendoodle/ BorderCollie pup- 4 months old right now :-)
  17. We had our Toby with us last year during our "camping adventure" as we call it when we stood in the PUP for almost 4 months cause Matts transfer was delayed- She did great in the camper, but she figured out how to undo the velcro around the slide out canvas- she would slip out to go take care of her Potty Business and refused to use the liter box in the camper- but she always came right back in... Now the cat is housebroken- even up here she'll only go outside to go potty- but the dog isnt :siren: She'll seriously walk up to the back door and meow to go out and paw at the door to come back i
  18. Wow- glad everything worked out and it wasnt anything more serious! Magic Bus- thanks for the vet #'s... always good to know where the closest vet is when you;re not home!!! Thats why I love this board!!! :siren:
  19. Awww.... so you don't have hugs no more? I have some pics somewhere of her dressed in the snow white costume from a couple of years ago... When we moved up north, we moved in with my parents to help them out with the bills etc- Dad's retired and Moms job doesnt cover it all and they didnt want to sell the house- but with 10 people in the house spanning 4 generations... having 2 huge dogs that weighed close to 150 lbs each... it was just too much for my Mom and Grandmom to handle- add in the massive shedding... the Bears weren't as happy as they could've been, so we made the sacrifice and le
  20. We just looked at the Roo (same floor plan) at the RV show up here! Matt wants a toy hauler so he can stow the golf cart and still travel with the Burb instead of going the pick up route... 6 in the pick up gets tight on long drives...But they are very limited it seems... We also looked at the Rockwood Signature series with an outdoor kitchen and rear bunkhouse. My favorite feature of that TT is that the 2nd door goes right into the bathroom, so little ones can wash their feet and not trek dirt all over the camper! The Rockwood was only slightly more than the Roo- and its an ultra lightweight
  21. Great pics! We're going to try it out for a quick weekend later this month :rofl2:
  22. I read that whole series and loved it. Does the series have the same characters? I didn't realize that it was part of a series. Here is series: Summer at Willow Lake The Winter Lodge Dockside Snowfall at Willow Lake Fireside Lakeshore Christmas The Summer Hideaway Marrying Daisy Bellamy The serises has the same "cast" through the series and adds onto it through each new book. I love the setting and when I read the books, I usually feel like I am right up in the Catskills along with the characters... If I can get that lost in a book- its a winner for me!!!! Enjoy!!!
  23. Susan Wiggs is a favorite of mine!!! I have all of her books, but not in Ereads yet, still old style paper. The Lakeshore Chronicles is a great series!!! I try to keep my reading to the Harlequin "junk" but not the trashy ones, more the contemporary romance... I have too much stress and issues to get into a "serious" book, so at least that part of my life I keep light and I know at the end of the book, there will be a happy ending    Some other goodies for authors if you like the Willow Lake reads would be Sherryl Woods, Debbie Macomber, Robyn Carr (Virgin River series is
  24. Ram- Not sure if we ever got to meet in person... but we used to bring our 2 Newfies to the Fort with us every trip  We started out boarding the older one at the kennels when she was a puppy, but as she got bigger, I felt that she was able to behave in the camper while we were out, even if just at the pool since we were only in a PUP. I always made sure that the AC was on full blast for her, and in the warmer weather we also added fans to help circulate the air around too. I usually put the TV on in front of her crate so she wouldn't get upset by the outside noises. When we got "home
