  1. About the same as everyone else here. If I'm there, I'm outside 99% of the time and feel free to stop by. I'm more of a late night person, which I've noticed is rare around the Fort. That also means if I'm not outside in the morning, I'm probably still asleep.
  2. That looks like I'm almost guaranteed to have to drive through it to get to the Fort.
  3. I'm having my nightly bourbon night cap, but clearly I'm doing something wrong. I'm not having nearly as much fun as Doodle and the kids.
  4. Indeed, but that's what he's been told so I can't fault him. I, personally, think deploying WiFi over such a large area would be a monumental and terribly expensive project for the Fort. That sounds like a much better reason to me. End Hijack.
  5. Ah, 600... you must be picking it up from the Meadows. That's pretty impressive. Bama Ed over on the other board was saying they can't deploy it Fort-wide because it would interfere with the busses. I do not believe that being that it's the industry I'm in, but it seems to be the current rationale.
  6. Yeah, not generous at all. If you do the math, it sometimes costs more for "free dining" if you choose that option vs the AP/AAA/FL Resident/General Public discount. It's how they phrase it... it's far from free.
  7. Glad you two made it to the Fort safe and sound! I'm sorry to hear it's raining, but I know you've been reading along on my most recent TR and know that I know all about the rain. I hope it stops soon and you get some of the Florida summer heat you've been looking forward to! :rofl3:
  8. Day 5 - Continued Thanks for all of the comments. I know I should be better about responding, so I'm trying. I promise. I also promised this wasn't going to be a lengthy TR… and here we are. A two-parter for day 5…. of 14. So, I went to AK. Met with some friends and got roped into seeing Nemo. After, I finally got my lunch (all I'd really gone to the park for) and met up with two of my very best friends who had arrived that morning. Also, a coworker was lurking around, so I had to meet him and his family. Well, as I hear Fiends do, I was running my mouth with a friend I hadn't seen in almost
  9. Yes, there's a bike rack near the pool. Depending on where you are in the 1400 loop, though, it may be easier to walk.
  10. That was really a great show. I was hoping someone would get the reference. Banana Hammock - That's one I haven't heard in a while. I would get it if it were Williamsburg, VA or Busch Gardens even, but you're spending THOUSANDS of dollars on your family vacation. You really should take the time to read up, even if it's in a hard copy book. It just boggles my mind. Even I, the one who does not plan, would never fall into that trap. I don't know what Stef knows, or what she thinks she knows, but I find it best not to dispute her. Just go with it! Hey hey hey. Don't encourage!
  11. If there's one thing I know, it's coquina. I think TJ called it the devil's pixie dust in chat, and I couldn't agree more. At Sam's tonight I went to load beer into the trunk for the trip to the Fort. I slid it in and heard "CRUNCH". That stuff follows me around for a solid month after I get home.
  12. Sounds like the 600's are about to be Fiend-ified!
  13. I like Mike. I'm very similar... we'll stop when we get there!
  14. Day 5 - Thursday (#1) So, sorry it took a while to get this next update out. I was err, editing photos. You know, speedo shots and all. I had to remove that section so that Stef wouldn't get too excited. Sadly, there was one photo from Typhoon Lagoon that a Photo Pass photog took. After seeing it, I have filed it away as "Use this as gym motivation." Also, if there's one thing I'm proud of, it's that I got hijacked. That's my first official hijack and I love it. Honestly, though, Otis Redding? That's even a little before my time. Also also, this is a good time to talk about something. Somethi
  15. I have no abandoned. Work is just taking a little more of my time than I'd like it to right now. The next update is written and waiting on me to have time to add the pics.
  16. BTW, as someone who lives in the heat of it, Charleston, SC, I can assure you that you will survive. Sure, you may feel like you've walked into a wall when you step outside of the MH. Sure you may be soaked with sweat before you make it down the MH steps. See, that's all part of the fun. It took the first 10 years or so I lived in Charleston to get used to it, but now I am. So yes, you'll be fine. And in 10 years, you'll have no problems with it at all.
