  1. You'll enjoy Hilton Head if you like a laid back vacation. It's removed from Charleston and Savannah, so it's pretty much its own little world down there. I don't know of any restaurants on the Island that I'd recommend, but I hear there are some favorites. Enjoy!
  2. Yeah, pretty nasty rain today. It's off an on, but not worth chancing getting caught in it. Also, lightening in the area.
  3. That's exactly my motive. I don't have to worry about Donnie driving a golf cart into the camper or bringing an extra 10 bottles of booze. :rofl2:
  4. I rarely comment on this topic. It is what it is. I think, overall, most everyone is well-enough behaved. It's that minority that make a scene and, like everything in life, ruin what is a good time for the other 99%. I totally get not wanting kids to be exposed to that 1% of behavior. That's elsewhere in the world. It shouldn't be at WDW. Even I go to be insulated from that kind of behavior. With all that said, it's the hatred that scares me. The guy flying the plane... wow. Just wow.
  5. Thanks for the photos, Karla! It makes the 24 hour wait more bearable. I'm not super sad I'm going to miss most of the Memorial Day crowds, for sure.
  6. I get $75 to get into a theme park... a theme park as big as a WDW park. Legoland, according to the maps I see, is small. There isn't THAT much to do.
  7. Enjoy! I'll (hopefully) be there on monday. Still trying frantically to add that night to my reservation
  8. I have to agree with the reviewer and Karla. I rarely go here because you never know what you're going to get. If its good that night, it's GOOD. Unfortunately, I've had eh or bad as often as good.
  9. Great TR so far. I haven't been to Darlington since I was a kid. Looks exactly how I remember it, though!
  10. Enjoying the SWW TR. The crowds actually don't look all that bad so far. Glad the girls enjoyed themselves.
  11. Glad you survived. Space Mountain is tough for me, and I love coasters. My neck or back always seems to hurt after I ride it, I love Splash though.... except the getting wet part.
  12. Good point. I was there for Spring Break and was more than a little surprised at the crowd at Typhoon Lagoon one afternoon.
  13. It really is all about your travel party. I was with a friend. We knew Epcot would be mobbed for NYE this year, and it was, but we meandered in about 4pm. We decided we might as well wait 70 minutes for Soarin' since we really didn't have a lot else to do. We rode Ellen's Energy Adventure (it broke down, so we walked off) and we had counter service food. We also had drinks. Probably more than we should have. We sat and talked (after 2 days of vacation together, there wasn't much to say or catch up on) and generally enjoyed the shows (France, America). It also took 2 hours to get out of the par
  14. We did NYE this past year. It was very crowded, but I thought Disney did a great job managing the crowds. We're definitely not going to do any of the parks that week (as a test to see if I can do a longer Fort trip without the AP). I was really hoping to lounge in a lazy river, though. Oh well!
  15. Thanks for the update! Sorry about the sewer connection, though, that umm, stinks. Glad there are no natural disasters on this trip. I remember last year.
  16. Is there anything else going on around the Fort, Karla? Any construction? Water main breaks?
  17. Oh come on! It's not WDW if you don't sweat through your shirt by 10am! (9 days, 10 hours, 9min)
  18. So I'll be at the Fort with some Friends (who aren't Fiends) for the July 4th week. Monday - Friday. My AP expires before then and I'm not sure it's worth renewing it right now since I feel like the next trip will be October. My Water Park pass will be good, though. One of said friends already has one of those. The other will have to buy one. So, that's the backstory. We figure there's no point in bothering much with trying to go to a park that week since the crowds will be crazy and the lines ridiculous. We can watch the fireworks from the beach with a drink and not have to camp out on an Epc
  19. Just m y $0.02. Last month when I was at WDW I noticed that all the Food Courts I went in had pre-packaged sushi in the chillers. And at $12 for 9 pieces, well, enjoy! So yeah, that's not unique to Pop.
  20. They're definitely not paper. Also, if you want the plastic version, you can get one by buying your AP from your resort. I've had ap's for quite a few years, though and have never had to replace mine because it tore or anything.
  21. Thanks for the update! That construction makes me unhappy, but the rest of the fort pics are great!
  22. I've noticed it's been closed regularly, but I was hoping it would open again for one last run. It was a neat show.
