  1. The last 50 miles here last night were a riot. Everyone was sooooooooo tired. Did ya'll know farts are funny? Farts are funny as hell. Farts are 'sheet' without the mess..... :rofl3:

Got in bed after midnight with the alarm set to get up at 7 am. 5:45 am some pooty heads in the next bed were giggling so we all got up. Ate breakfast and are getting all our stuff together so we can head out by 8 am and try to get to the Fort by 3 pm. Well gotta go. Ta Ta for now. :jumpforjoy

  2. Hey ya'll! We just got to Savannah for our stopover. Took a little longer than planned but we got a late start and then had potty breaks and had to stop for an early supper since no one ate lunch. Also had 1 stop for gas AFTER getting through N.C. Gas is pricey there! We're at the Sleep Inn just off exit 102. It's basic but clean and that's all we need for the night. Thanks for all the well wishes!! Gotta get some Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Nite nite!! :wave1: :shh:

  3. DH mentioned this when he got home yesterday. Such a sad, sad thing.

This is sad what is even sadder is that they passed us going at least 80 and cutting people off then crashed about a 1/2 mile ahead of us. We were stopped for 2 hours on I-95 then had to turn around with the trailer in the and go south in the north lanes to get detoured. It really breaks my heart to see how much aggressive driving can rip a family apart. All I can say is wear your seat belts folks and SLOW DOWN there is no place that you need to get to that fast.

I can attest to this! When DD was about 2, I hit some gravel and went off the road, rolling the car. I've never been so glad to hear a child cry in my life. As much as I detest seatbelts, you don't ride with me unless you're buckled up! Glad you and your family are safe, Campingpixi!

  4. I find the original message that "ThatsMrGrumpy2U" quoted suspicious, to say the least.

It sounds like something that someone who had a self interest in driving away potential customers or had an axe to grind with Kenny would say.

The quoted CM, if he even existed, would have to be a complete idiot to say what he said.

Fort management and any half witted Fort CM know's full well what's going on with 3rd party carts.

As long as they play by Disney's rules, they're fine.

That is until a new idiot manager is brought in and they decide they need to make a mark for themselves and ban all 3rd party cart rentals.

ThatsMrGrumpy2U is my hunny. :D We were working on our Disney budget and talking over the price of Disney's golf carts. I mentioned having heard about Kenny and so DH googled Kenny's golf carts at Disney and a link for the above posted quote popped up. Reading how almost everyone said they'd never had any problems with Kenny delivering a cart, I thought perhaps the CM was misinformed or just being a butthead. We've already got a cart reserved with Disney but were trying to find ways to cut down on costs. We've called Kenny and are waiting to hear from him. We just didn't know anything about renting from other people. We didn't want to have trouble while on vacation and surely didn't want to get Kenny in trouble. When Kenny returns our call, we'll just ask HIM how he wants to handle everything. ;D

  5. What a great report so far! I don't think you have to worry about being 'too wordy'. Personally, I LOVE reading lengthy, wordy, full of details AND pictures reports. My DD has issues with loud sounds too. Maybe you could try some earplugs next time you go if the loud sounds still bother your little sweetie. She sure is a cutie!

  6. I used to plan things - and then Rita would get involved an be a TOCDDQ (Total Obsessive Compulsive Disney Drama Queen) about planning. I would have to spend weeks making changes to any plans or reservations I had previously made - some times several times in one day. I've even had to go on-line while we were driving to Disney to make/change reservations. I've said that I'M not making any plans or reservations now or in the future other than for a site at The Fort ... If we decide we want to eat somewhere at Disney and we can't get a walk-up, there are plenty of other restaurants we like! One of them is bound to have room.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm I haven't met Rita yet but she doesn't seem to be the TOCDDQ kind of person. :rofl2: :rofl2: I agree 100% with you on staying at the Fort. After our first stay I informed my hubby that the Fort was the only place I would ever stay when we visited Disney World for all our future trips. He agrees. Might as well; things go easier that way. :rofl2:

  7. "I", for one think it's a fantastic idea! emot-parrot.gif

    wait. what?

cabin people have descriptive language attached? they're THOSE people?

oh. well. I didn't know that. unsure.gif I might need to stop my pre-trip report immediately, i may be one of those people before it's all said and done.

what's up with loop 2800? I can't remember which loop we were in last fall, but I don't think that's it. if it's where we need to be, I want to know, LOL!

I'm joking, I'm joking about 'those people'. Just something I read on that other site in regards that 'those cabin dwellers weren't really campers'. I know no one over here thinks like that. I was made to feel quite welcome when I joined up over here. Loope 2800 was just the loop I was in during our 1st visit. We requesting an accessable cabin before Nikki needs assistance bathing and doesn't like going up and down stairs much. We were in the Willow Way section. I don't know if loop 2800 is where it's at :rofl2: but that's where I was told we'd be for this trip. :))

  8. No problem! I am all about the details myself . I will get video pics and measurements. I will see if the roof is magentic so you can see if you can use magnetic hooks to put your decorations up. ( that might sound silly to those who have carts lol . I figured t was a good idea to check in case we needed to put a clear curtain up with rain)

Love your idea btw! You will have to post a ton of pics when you are done. I wasnt absent , just lurking. You all wont be able to get rid of me now ! lol

You know what I use for a lot ofthings these days is foam board. Its easy to carve out details.

Okay sorry Linda for the hijack.

Hijack away! Doesn't bother me at all!

  9. Hi Linda! You sound so much like me. I am about to post my pre-trip report for September. I tend to ramble, and was told so over on that" other" site! lol Thankfully people here are so much nicer! ( btw the way I dont think u ramble) I also have kids with certain needs. We are doing a cabin also but going in September. I cant wait to read more . If there is anything you want me to check out for you let me know. I hear they got new Tv's in the cabins. I will take a pic for you if you like.

I will get my first installment up tonight. I gotta go refresh myself on photobucket.

I totally agree with you about traveling with extended family!

Good start , keep it coming!

I've been told I ramble (by my sister). She once called me and told me to tell her about our Gran's condition (she resides in a nursing home) in 12 words or less. I think I can assume that she thought I was too descriptive when I tried to tell her about Granny. On the other hand, she could have been being a big BUTTHEAD. Thanks so much for offering to check things out for me. That's really sweet. Actually, there is one thing you could do if you would. I'll PM you about it. I'll be on the lookout for your pre-trip report too!

  10. I'm so happy for you - I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time! I'm a cabineer as well, but this year we rented an RV. Both are great options for those of us who don't have our own RV!

We enjoyed Plaza Restaurant as well - I'm surprised it's not more popular.

We loved the Plaza. I had the turkey sandwich and it was so yummy! Maybe one day in the future we'll try renting an RV. When we were kids we went to the mountains every year just before school and stayed in one of those campers you stick on the back of your pickup truck. I loved it.
