  1. I believe this photo was part of a bigger event celebrating Donald Duck's 50th Birthday in the early 80s if my memory serves me right.
  2. Actually they did establish a Nature reserve. Its a part of Disney that not many goto but you can hike it. Here is some info. http://www.nature.org/ourinitiatives/regions/northamerica/unitedstates/florida/placesweprotect/the-disney-wilderness-preserve.xml
  3. Seems like we don't see as much of Sonny as we used to. Does anyone remember when there was a live band that came up from the floor? Can't remember the name, but I can visualize the outfits. Definitely the 70's! Their were 2 that I remember. Michael Iceberg in the 70's a keyboardist, and Tobasco a band in the 80's http://youtu.be/80twRmDsAV4 http://youtu.be/V21ZZnSgzSk
  4. I remeber the petting farm had Roosters that would wake you up if you were in a close enough loop
  5. I think it all depends on if you provide an email for communcations when you check in. Which is more common when you use the advanced/early checkin online. I might be wrong though.
  6. I remember when they didn't have a crockets tavern and thats where alot of the video games used to be. They did have a second snack bar resturant at the time in part of the waitress area.. The food was also cafeteria style. I also have fond memories of the make your own pizzas. One thing they also had a while back is another snack bar in the same building as the boat rentals office. Right behind where the soda machine is now you could get a hot dog when swimming on the lake. good times
  7. It has now reopened. http://www.wdwmagic.com/Attractions/Soarin/News/04May2012-Soarin'-has-reopened-to-guests-after-earlier-closure.htm
  8. Soarin temporarily closed until.... http://www.wdwmagic.com/Attractions/Soarin/News/04May2012-Epcot's-Soarin'-temporarily-closed-for-urgent-maintenance.htm
  9. I got four bad bites. Even Saw one of the suckers. Just last week. So They are out there, hopefully won't get any worst as we go more into season.
  10. Just wanted to let you know that I just back from a wonderful trip to Fort and thoroughly impressed with Donnie's 5th wheel rental. Everything went very smooth and even made my wife happy. She was a little dubious at first but was won over! So thank you Donnie! Also I just wanted to thank Judy as well. She did an extraordinary job on getting us the best discount and making sure it went smooth. Thank you very much Judy. I will be booking through you for all our various Disney trips(Fort, Vero etc) for sure! Thanks Again.
  11. Just to defend the guy who got stuck for one second. Do they actually have the heigtht limitiatons posted? (like on bridges, etc..) I don't remember seeing it ever posted there and I actually wondered if stuff got stuck under there a couple times. But a semi driver should be cautious but he was probably eyeing it and eyed wrong. I was there during the time of this trip report and I was quite impressed by that trailer when I saw it. I think I remember it being in the 1200 loop. All I know is that you could actually see that thing from one of the main roads. (shocker)...
  12. Krispy Kreme. I miss the fresh sign. I like tap beer the most actually. I prefer the monorail 100% its alot cooler. Sorry but you can ride a bus any where. Not that I hate them its just least interesting of the 3 forms of transporation that Disney provides. Football then basketball then everything else.
