  1. Does anyone have an update on the channel listings AND a solution to getting all the channels(the missing middle ones)? Their system is very frustrating!
  2. If Disney only wanted to seve to the high end folks in DVC, we woudn't have seen the Value resorts and the New Art of Animation. Here they answerred a need for family suites. Large families needed to get two rooms before ths resort. Yet it is still somewhat value priced, and more convenient then 2 rooms, also offering single rooms although limited. Disney would do a disservice to do away with the campground and they probalbly know it. It's been around since the 70s. I hate paying the same price as a Value resort with no structure, but I still love the campground. I've often wondered why they d
  3. Missouri was a considered site for Walt Disney World. Back to DVC, have you all noticed what it cost to rent a pad of concrete in 2014 in Fort Wilderness?? Once this DVC moves in, and all it's amenities, that we hope to share, what will it cost to put our campers up? I may not be able to afford it by the time it;s done. I don't think I can afford it this year!
  4. Double post sorry!!! TCD you and I had the same thought going. I just had to say it twice :rofl3: .
  5. They have changed the bus stops/systems a few times since I've been coming to the Fort in the mid 90s. No doubt it may take trial and error and they will no doubt make changes along the way. Remember the good ol days when you could got to TTC and get a bus anywhere? I have not been a fan of catching all buses at the Outpost. I like the idea of the Settlement being the main bus stop.

  7. Except when they all come over to loop and see the Christmas decorations!
  8. In regards to more people, remember, us campers are just that....campers! We spend probably more time at the Fort then in the parks, The DVCers will be in the parks or their luxury pool.We won't seee much of them. I still am in awe walking around the Fort at Christmas, knowing there's 40-50k people or more just across the pond while it is quiet and peaceful here. I think (hope) the Fort will still keep that same serenity.
  9. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! I haven't been around for a while, so apologies first for that. We are preparing for our annual Dec trip to the fort. Has anything improved pertaining to wireless intenet signals in the loops or is it best to get the modem. And How is the digital and less then late model RVs. Is it still necessary to get the kit from the front desk. Any updates would be appreciated. We hope to roll in arount the 9th and be there till the beginning of Jan. Hope to see some Fiends!!!
  10. I've decided to rent a car for two days from Dollar. You can pick it up at Sanford Terminal and they'll let you return at the Wyndham Hotel across from Downtown Disney. This is where we usually rent our cars from. Two days for for $70 will let us go get groceries, etc too.
  11. I am flying into Sanford next week and need to get to my resort. My son is working and I don't want him to give up a shift. What is the best, cleanest and cheap way to get from Sanford Airport to Disney World other then a Taxi?
  12. How much does the GAG run? My family really likes Publix deli fried chicken. We can't get it back home. I would like to try GAG sometime. Didn't even know about it til I saw it on this board. We are dark meat eaters so I assume you can get all dark meat?
  13. Yes, November over Thanksgiving was colder then Christmas!! :waycool:
  14. I too wondered about the 0 warning posts when I didn't see that on anyone else's tag. Thought it was probation or something....I thought I was good  Maybe not Snarky enough?
  15. We have been going to the Fort since 95. Being a family of 7, we never rented a golf cart,1) too expensive and 2) our family of 7 wouldn't fit on one. Just recently , we decided there wasn't anywhere in the Fort we couldn't comfortably walk, and there are internal buses to pick you up if you get tired. Golf carts aren't for everyone, so don't feel you have to succumb.
  16. Great trip report! Keeping me occupied as we are driving( not me) home from the fort. More please!
  17. Ed, will the new plate solve it or does the wiring inside from the plate to the tv need to be changed too?
  18. Now I am totally confused. We will be arriving Sunday. We swapped out our older analog TVs for the newer digital. Will we still have a problem getting cable in the Fort. After all, I will be paying for a premium site which includes cable. I just want to be prepared, cause I have to have my Disney Channels!
  19. I don't know when the Fort removed the analog, but when the whole country went digital, we got the converter box for our MH tvs when we did the home tvs. My BIL is a tv guy so that.s why we were prepared. I agree with TCD, for the price we pay for a campsite, where's the free wireless in each campsite. Getting that darn modem is a PITA.
  20. Does anyone have a current list of the channel guide? Also, in past,we have gotten poor reception in loop 100.The lower channels come in all snowy, but the upper channels are better. Anyone else get this problem? Starting to think it might be something in the wiring in the MH.
