  1. I am sure there are some members on here that have rented Donnie's 5th wheel that can offer advise. As for the beer thing I am sure you will find a Fiend or two that will offer you a beer if you stop in and say hi.. although not all Fiends drink beer. Beware of Fiends offering punch. :) Oh and I haven't seen you ask any dumb questions yet.. newbie maybe but not dumb. Trust me better to ask questions before your trip as it will make for a more enjoyable trip.

Punch? I love punch! I'll have to carry my flask with me me when we are loop cruising!

  2. Since we have never been RVing we are not sure if there is anything special we need to bring. I.E. RV toilet paper, special type of dishwashing soap, etc. We are renting donnie's 5th wheel and was raised to treat things you borrow better than you would your own. Also what is the one thing you would nevr go to the Fort without? I know I don't have to bring any beer with me I just have to drive around in the golf cart and look for the Fort Fiend signs and I get all the beer I want. Right? Any advise for a Newbie would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. Not sure where to post so if there is a better place to post let me know.

After a long week of watching other people work I came home opened up my beer fridge and tried to figure out what beer to enjoy. After having a couple I finally figured out what I wanted...Safari Amber.

It's the beer they serve at Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurus, and Yak & Yeti, and a few others. It's one of my favorite beers at WDW. Does anyone know if it can be purchased outside of WDW?

    Thanks

  4. Yes, there are internal bus routes that take you to either Settlement or Outpost, (from near your loop) and you catch the buses/and boat to the parks from either Settlement or Outpost. If you have a golf cart, then you just drive your golf cart to the Outpost, Settlement, or Marina golf cart parking and take the bus or the boat to the parks from those locations.

Is the "outpost" where you check in? And the "settlement" the store by the hoop dee doo?

  5. Sorry another stupid new bee question.

From my understanding there are bus that just circle the fort and you take them to the bus stops to catch the buses to the parks and DTD. Is that correct? We will have a golf cart so can we drive them to the bus stops to catch the park buses? Is there a route map of the buses?

    Thanks again.

  6. True story that your not going to believe. But its true. This happened Christmas 2011. Left ASmusic heading for MK to take monorail to POLY for Rez at O'hana. Got on bus at ASm and we where the only ones on it so I jokingly asked driver if he could just drop us of at Poly and he said he will call in and check. As we approach MK he turns and heads straight to the Poly. I tried to tip him but he refused to take it. Resort to resort. Now that's service. But wait the story gets better. A few days later we took boat from MK to the Fort for 5:00 Rez at Hoop Dee Doo, this was are first time at the fort and when we met Judy, and yes i blame ger for getting me on this forum, lol, after dinner we got on bus headed towards DTD and again we where the only ones on the bus. So asked again if he would take us straight to ASm and he did. I don't think you can count on this happening for your friend shut I just wanted to brag on two awesome CMs that really need a raise. I just wish that waitress at Hoop Dee Doo wouldn't have served me so much beet so I could remember the bus drivers name.

  7. Ok now that I've got attention.

I've been reading and searching for hours on his forum and I can not decide what site/loop would be best for us. A little info on our family. Me(43), wife(I'm not telling and getting in trouble), DD(7). We are renting Donnie's 5th wheel for Christmas and New Years 2012-2013. We will have a golf cart. My DD wants to be next to the swimming pool, DW wants loop 100, 200, or 300 to be close to marina, TE, and Crockett's Tavern, I'm thinking loop 1600 or 1700 to save money, for beer. Lol

I looked at pictures of different loops and sites and to be honest they're all starting to look the same. So you experienced Fort Fiends that know this place like the back of your hand, telling me which site is the best and why.

Thanks. I look forward to reading your responses and maybe the person that sells me on their favorite site and if they're at the Fort this Christmas I will buy them a

    beverage of their choice

  8. Me, DW, and DD(7), and my DFinlaw went this past Christmas and what we did was book him, since he was in a different room, separately without the DDP. This worked out great for us. We always ate together and when it was time for the check I would hand them my key to the world and told them we where on the DDP. They never questioned us and put all 4 meals and the plan. It takes a little planning but it's a way for you to get the benefits of the DDP and still have freedom to pay for the less expensive restaurants with cash and not use a TS credit. I have figured out that unless your big eaters and you like to have most of your days dining planned out it's just not worth it especially if your planning at eating at your TT. But only you know if it's worth the cost fir your family. Just look at what each restaurant you want to go to cost compared to the DDP and you'll find your answer.

    Have fun

  9. Sorry forgot to mention Belle was at both restaurants. So was Snow White*. Snow White* was so nice at Akershus. Snow White* went to sign my DD's autograph book and Snow White* saw where Snow White* had signed her signature before, so Snow White* said she remembered her from our last trip and so Snow White* didn't sign her book she, Snow White* kissed her book with her, Snow White*'s, lipstick. Then when we Snow white* at CRT. Snow White* did the exact thing. Yes Snow White kiss my DD's book again. I love Snow White*. I think Snow White* is the best princess at WDW.

By the way I know I'm new but what Dave got for or against Snow White*? Sorry I just had to get in one more Snow White*.

    thanks

A big fan of Snow Whites*

  10. Where can I purchase the Fort Wilderness Campground signs that hang from the wooden post? I saw 2 of them recently at the campsite right behind the settlement store.

What part of the country are you from? In branson, Missouri there are dozens of places that can make them for you. We had one made at the trade day in canton, tx. I see them at the arts and craftsnshow that my wife drags me to. Lol

Also if you do a google search for Personalized wood signs you'll find dozens of companies/people that can make you just about anything you want. If you PM me I will send you a link or two. Or is it ok to post the links here?

  11. That's silly. Why wouldn't they want golf carts at the Lodge? You would think that if they made it easy for people at the Fort to get there the more they would go there for drinks and dinner. I would be more likely to take my golf cart on a five minute drive then go to the bus stop, wait for the bus, take the bus around the fort and then finally arrive at the Lodge. Or wait for the boat to take me. I guess I'll just have to have a cocktail at Crockett's Tavern or find a Fiend to show me the secret golf cart path to the Lodge. Hahaha!
