  1. It looks like this is a viable option to combine Disney Gift Cards that are received throughout the year. And, if you buy a bunch of the gift cards from Target with the Target Red card to get a 5% discount, you can combine them also - that discount would save you $50/$1000 plus you would get an additional $20 reward from the vacation account.

Also, you can make deposits by credit card - if you were to use your Disney Visa Card, you could get Rewards on that in addition to the $20/$1000 reward that this account offers.

  2. It's funny that you posted this today because I just found it yesterday! I like the idea, but most local banks have Vacation Savings Accounts that you can set up to earn interest on your savings. That said, as soon as we book a Disney Vacation, I turn into a "OMG WE'RE GOING! PLEASE TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY RIGHT NOW EVEN IF I DON'T HAVE IT! WHAT CAN I BUY THAT'S DISNEY RELATED? IS 10 MONTHS EARLY TOO SOON TO PACK?" type of planner. This might be a good way to satisfy my "DISNEY TAKE MY MONEY" fix on a more affordable basis.

  3. Ditto!!  :D

...actually there is a better than pretty darned good chance that Nicole (aka TurkeyPants) and I have finagled a way to make  a "what are you whackos thinking?!?!" road trip down for this.

...as in, we have booked a room

    ... and have magic bands

...and I bought a park ticket (she has an AP)

...I made a couple of ADRs

    Bring on the insanity!!

If yesterday was a sampling of what's to come - Disney won't know what hit it. :jumpforjoy

  4. Another thought (look out!): There is not a lot of storage for clothing/luggage in the cabins. You have 6 drawers and a closet - 2 of the drawers are in the nightstand. When we emptied our 2 suitcases, all of H's clothes went in the drawers, some things were hung up in the closet and all my clothes were arranged on the top bunk. The floor of the closet barely fit our suitcases in it. So - if you are a family of 6 flying in for a week long trip with all of your luggaage, you may have to get creative!

The hairdryer is mounted on the wall in the bedroom - so, if that bothers you, bring your own!
