Being a sometimes single woman with some physical limitations, I would NEVER have gone camping alone. But with the Fiends I do it all the time. I know they're there to help me if I need it, they keep an eye on me, they oftentimes feed me (I hate cooking), they've become my shrinks, they're great marriage counselors, always there when you need them, they're entertaining, and they're simply kind and loving people. I'm closer to some of them than to members of my family. They ARE family to me! And I love them :heartsmiley:

I intend to wear jammies at all times. But my word of caution is that if you have larger sized bubbies you might want to wear one of those 'geannie bra' or similar so that as you're running around the campground or thru the stores you aren't accidentally showing too much or 'swinging' too much. LOL

add to packing list........purple hat, something furry, mismatched socks, mismatched shoes, cell phone/charger, depends or poise if you need em, lots of quarters, medications, refill Disney cup, bathing suit, Disney pass if you're going to a park,

I can get over the no-flap issue, but they're make for people 6'8" tall. I'd have to cut at least a foot off it to keep it up ( or wear the crotch around my ankles)

Monique you could bring the extras for some of the other ww's to wear. I have several sets of mickey pj's & nighshirts & was given more at Christmas.

(but as a sidenote.....I bought my stepdaughter a onesie with feet set of furry Mickey pj's similar to what she pointed out to me one other time. Well, she didn't like them. My guess is that she regifted them. She also didn't like the sweatshirt I bought her. So much for my taste??)

now Dave we might need fun pj's too, especially if we have cameras. :rofl2:

He might hang out with some of the other men. Otherwise he's happy sitting outside reading a book. I can't get away saying I need time away from him since I get 3-5 nights a week of that. That's why it's a little different situation from others, plus he's on vacation that week. and yes, Lorna you DO have special power with him (as does Richie, Kathy & Bob)

No matter what happens I'm partying with you girls and being silly and dancing and wearing weird clothes, hats, fur, mismatched shoes and pjs all day long. And once I get there yall have to dance with me (I'll bring my ipod/speakers). Does everyone know the wobble?? I feel a flash mob coming on!

When I was a teenager we stayed there a few times. I really enjoyed it (even without electricity) The funnest part was locking up all food before it gets dark because of the bears. They'd show up at sunset wanting your dinner! We watched them eat things at others' sites like a whole can of Crisco and bones and whole dinners being fixed.

Magnoliafig........thanks for your input. I'm glad you're getting out & about! Since Marty is a pilot, and I was single for most of my adult life, I was used to being alone & having me time & being able to do what I want when/how I wanted. My issue is that I wanted to be away from him and he got his feelings hurt. We are going on a cruise that week & my plan was to drive home from Ft.Lauderdale Saturday morning, tend to pets, repack my bag & head to the Fort. But since he is still on vacation he feels I'm abandoning him. So now he wants to bring our camper over for the couple of nights. He says I can go do www stuff & just return at night to our site. It sounds reasonable, but that's basically the same thing he said about July 4th and New Year's Eve, and anybody who was there knows how well that didn't work for me! True that those times I wasn't staying at the Fort & had to rely on boats/buses to get me to/from the Fort, which was awful. Halloween did however work well when we were at the Fort. I might be pouring too much info out there, so please nobody mention this to him when you see him. (Although Lorna could get away with a gentle 'we need her with us so go find something to do') I still intend to pay for my spot in Lorna's MH because it isn't fair to everyone else that I change things last minute. Besides I gotta figure out how I'm going to spoon her. LOL

Ok, so I am picturing 21 middle aged women in church hats on top of tiaras, wearing tutus over their tee shirts and jeans, with mis-matched shoes, twirling hoes and hula hooping while laughing so hard they can't breathe.

I have something serious to discuss, and I would like your HONEST opinions and thoughts please. For you ladies who are going to be at the Fort camping with your hubbies,.....how do you plan on splitting your time between him & the www? do you feel slighted that he's going to be there so you can't sleep over with the girls? I had a wrench handed to me yesterday (metaphorically speaking) and don't know what to do now.

So, let me see if I have this straight. I should tell my friends that over President's weekend I will be with a group of women wearing tiaras, mis-matched shoes, and possibly tutus who will be talking and laughing loudly while eating yummy food and drinking who knows what?

some have settled differently at one end that at the other. But in 2 years they're all being removed & new buildings put in (plus different parking arrangements, etc.

Last year there was discussion about bringing our "Sunday Go-To-Meeting" hats (Church hats) Kinda like we wore to ladies tea in October. Add that to my suggestion of bringing something to wear of faux fur. Wonder if I could find a fur hat that's elegant looking?
