  1. While I hate to see Shannon leave, I also hate to see Lou described as a curmudgeon.  Merriam-Webster says a curmudgeon Lou is a "crusty, ill-tempered, and usually old man."

Lou is not crusty.??  He is not ill-tempered.??  He has a heart of gold, and I wish I could do as much for so many as he does.

If you think Lou is an old man (OH YEAH!!) then I am an old woman.  Just because I'm going on Medicare soon doesn't make me old.  Old is a state of mind.

Got a note going to Merriam-Webster.

  2. Everyone who matters understands, so I guess it says something that you have no clue. But hey, don't let it deter you from your mission. Apparently every Disney discussion board needs a curmudgeon to serve as a sink to drain out the over-abundant joy of it's participants. I felt I understood Gatordad, though, which made him more bearable. Or maybe it was just that Christa was so cute. Either way I found him far more tolerable. I'm thinking FB feels more like home and ol Lou can SMB

Right here, right now, Lighten up!!  I read Lou's post and I read your response, you need to chill out.  When you have done  as much for as many as Lou has you can do what ever.  I  know Lou and know that the reason he doesn't use emoticons is because there is no "Tongue in Cheek".   :clint:

  3. after researching these pills and knowing the side effects. thelma is doing really good so far on them -- i've decided for now, she is going to be on them for the rest of her life.  so, i looked on line to see the cost.

the 7 pills i got from the vet (cut into quarters) were just over $10.  my go to place-  drs foster and smith has them for 19-21 CENTS each pill.  WHAT!!     120 pills for just over $20.

needless to say i have them ordered from foster/smith.  they will contact my vet and ship right to my house.  i really haven't had an animal on a med for a long time and didn't think my vet would rip me of like that.  WOW!

our one cat was diabetic and i always bought her insulin at walmart or walgreens.  but, really - check around for better prices on stuff.  my vet will normally price match but, this is a big difference and i'm not messing around with getting him to come down.

like i said-so far so good.  i cleaned her up with just water the other day and i haven't seen any "extra" staining.  she'll get a bath next week and that'l be a big determining factor.  but, i do think it is helping her- (a lot).       :doublebeer:

    That's good news!!

  4. Ok, which one of you asked for traditional Berber music. What the heck is that anyway?

I just can't seem to get enough of Moroccan dancing.

Hey Dave, you're finally going get an Italian flag-waving group. I know, it's been a long time coming.

Mo, do you have a need for a lumberjack inspired show?

I know Bob would love a Celtic folk music group. He would say it's to die for.

None of the new entertainment does anything for me.

I have a friend that sings in a Berber Shop Quartet.   ::)

  5. I hear people talk about it being so expensive maybe it's just because I am cheap and I won't vacation during on season. SO I guess it's a non-issue. I was just wondering because I looked at the price for those off site campgrounds and they weren't really cheaper than Disney. Is there a certain time of the year when they are a lot cheaper or by cheaper are we just talking about $10 a night? And I am not trying to be snarky, I am truly curious. Like I said though I come during off season.

On a per night basis the Fort is only slightly more expensive.  For two/three months it is $1,000 or more which, unless you are the kept man of a successful lawyer, begins to add up. :rofl2:  :rofl2:

    Why not?

He's trying to be nice.  If he hangs around long enough he'll get over that!!   :clint:

  6. Gary,

Are you at Lake Magic now?

    Edited:

    Hit submit too fast.

I second Lake Magic. very reasonable and 12 miles from MK. 6 from EPCOT. Traffic can be a pain right now due to construction on 192 but if you know the area you can use back roads to get around. Plus the construction is supposed to be done by summer of 2014.........oh wait. Nevermind.

Not yet Dave.  We have reservations for 12/28 - 3/28.  Hoping to get my 150 hrs in while i"m there.

  7. "Borrowing another page from the Polynesian playbook, the expanded Wilderness Lodge DVC will also feature prestigious bungalow-style accommodations.  Keeping with the wilderness theme, Disney plans to build stand-alone cabins along the beach bordering Bay Lake.  The cabins will sleep 8-9 guests and feature high end amenities like a private fire pit and hot tub."

I could see Disney filling in the horse shoe shaped area between WL and RC with the bungalows and converting some of RC area to high end camper area.  A few pad sites for when musicians are visiting/ performing and people that have RVs that don't fit under the check in awnings.  I am thinking a 3 star camper area with CM that come and hook up the sewage line  and dump the tanks for you.

I have heard that these services and more are available in the 3000 loop.  Since the loop is invitation only, I can't say for sure...   :clint:

  8. You can also look at the sites here:

    http://www.fortfiends.net/_/accomodations/loop-information/videos-of-all-camping-loopssites-r263

For someone that hasn't stayed at the Fort before, after doing your research, I would select one or two loops and have it put on your rez when you book it. Then 5 days out, also fax in the loop request.

If you don't want any surprises, park in the overflow lot when you arrive at the Fort and if you have a car drive through the loops you requested and select 3 or 4 empty sites that will work for you.

If you don't have a car, walk over to the Outpost bus stop and take a bus to the loop you requested, walk around to select the sites. Take the bus back to the front.

Now you're ready to check in prepared with site numbers that you've already seen and liked

They'll be no surprises, no back and forth to the front office because the site doesn't work for you.

Yes, it will take a little extra time, but you'll be sure.

Who'd a thunk it???  Good advice from Lou!!
