It was even more fun to be on one. :) But 6 months was enough.
3 months was enough for me. USS Nimitz. Working the flight deck was a rush though.

I actually worked with the blue Angels at an air show in Lakeland. If I could I would get photos if it. I was working when the thunderbirds did s flyover as well and we had some f5s do a flyover one day as well.
-
No pictures from me. It happens to be the one time a month I work a morning shift. So I'll be working at that time.
-
On Thursday 19 March at around 0930 to 1030, the Blue Angels will make two passes over the Magic Kingdom on their way to Melbourn for an Air Show.

Oh. I was lost for a min.

Yes but according to the menu they wont be cranking out any orange/vanilla swirls as I detailed in my post above.
Where did I talk about orange/vanilla swirls?

The new location for dole whips is actually better. The old location had a very small space work wise. 2 registers and only room for 1 or 2 others to make the dole whip. The lines were always long for that reason. The new location has 5 or 6 registers and a larger work area allowing more dole whips to be made at one time. It only makes sense to move the aloha isle to the larger location. Before, no one would be at the sunshine tree terrace and all that space and all those CMs would be poorly utilized. Now, they can crank out more dole whips faster making more money. Good decision.
And I walked by there last night and the lines were not that bad because they were distributed throughout the 5 registers. It flowed pretty good.

It was great when they used to serve soft serve ice cream at Aunt Polly's. We would just sit in the chairs and watch the riverboat go by and dock.
I hate saying this, but I'm not talking about the area near Aunt Pollys. The area I'm talking about is over behind the fort across from BTMR. It use to be one of the docks where the boats would load and unload.

The rose garden area is now walled off for construction.

The plaza.

Tom sawyers island has rocking chairs along the rivers of America. They off the main path and secluded. Partially shaded. I sat out there for an hour one day and only 2 other people wandered by.

Town square. It's the area at the beginning of Main Street. Town square theater, town square courtyard, etc.
And yes. I've seen that backdrop a few (million) times.
-
The area between city hall and chamber of commerce
-
That's the ts courtyard where aurora meets. It's the backdrop.
-
Not sure. Maybe the call the whole area garden plaza east. Maybe they put the wrong sign up.

East and west side of MS. Main Street runs north south. So the east side is the right side and west side is left side as you're looking at the castle. When you make FP+ reservations, you will be assigned either east or west viewing area. Can't use left or right side because that changes according to what direction you are approaching from.
The feel they were going for is an old town park. East and west fits in with that olden day feel.
-
The east side has opened as of 1500 today. Tonight will be the first FP+ viewing from the area.

Looking over the internal calendar, the first party is listed as the 15th. The others are just 7pm closes.
Could be they didn't want to do the first party until after night of joy to eliminate having to swap decorations out.

They do have design stations as part of the single rider line. They are not in the design room though. You also do not get to design your own car. You get to choose predefined cars.
If I remember correctly though, if you designed a car before using your mb, it will still be on there.

Thanks for the updates and great pics, Dave!
Ok but unless we see a photo of you making a snow angel in the grass, I'm still giving it to Lizzy.
Cant take pictures while working.......well, on my personal camera.

Do you know if the Partners statue is gone for good or just being moved?
Its not going anywhere.
They covered it to protect it during the construction of the area. They finally took that bench out that surrounds the statue and are putting up a railing to keep people from standing up there. Once the heavy construction is done, they should be let out of the box.
-
I didnt get photos of all of them, but this side had Goofy, Donald, Chipmunks, and Briar Rabbit. Im sure the other side will have the others. There should also be a matching fountain on the other side.
BTW, the East side is still walled off as of today.

Lizzy get first photo posted on the grass. Im sure she wasnt the first fiend on there though. I know someone who was on there before park open. Just saying.
Standing in the hub by where the partners statue is supposed to be.
This is the area near Crystal Palace. Note the touch points for FP+
The tech booth on the left is now missing a roof
The whole area is refered to as Plaza Gardens. Then theres the east and west side of MS.
The statues are back and surround this nice fountain
Looking towards Crystal Palace
Looking towards Caseys from the area by the Adventure land bridge. Note the ropes near the center of the photo. There are gates there that are open right now. Looks like when FP+ is being used the gates will be closed and the only way onto the grass area is through the touch points.
This will be your view from this area.

I've been considering this tour. Looks like I'll have to just go ahead and do it. Especially seeing as how I get 50% off right now.
Thanks for the info.
