  1. A few minor updates, mostly to the Photopass website.

Beginning 23 July, photos viewed on the mydisneyphotopass.com website will have a water mark added to them. Once a photo is purchased, the water will disappear.

Also, if a print is purchased from the website, a digital download of that photo will also become available.

Lastly, if any photo is purchased from the website, that photo and any renditions of that photo are available for download. So, if you purchase a photo, you can edit that photo as many times as you like and save the edits as copies of the original and all of them are downloadable.

  2. How did they fail? It hasn't even happened yet.

The purpose of this is to see if roaming characters are possible at WDW like at DL. I for one hope it succeeds. It would open the door to a whole new experience at WDW. It would make the park feel like you are really a part of the story and emerse the guest into their world.

If a character such as Flynn Ryder can roam around during the busy summer crowds, then it would be a success. But the Internet has already destined it to fail. It was supposed to be a surprise secret and it leaked out like usual. Now people are going to stalk him and ruin the experience.

  3. The second road mentioned is already under construction. Though it's not going to be an entrance to the property so to speak. It is more for the residents and cast who live in the area. It's major point is to bypass the area where the fireworks are set off. Currently, every night the road is blocked off approx an hour before up to an hour after wishes. With increased traffic on this road, it becomes more of a concern. It will also keep the traffic congestion down in the industrial backstage areas. The new road will allow Disney to control the area better for fireworks.

  4. It was not a Haunted Mansion Themed party. It was a private party for the International Travel Agents Association. I worked the party working with the Guardians of the Galaxy charcaters. The whole park was bought out and there was allot of themeing all over the whole park.

    This was also there

There was also a special edition of celebrate the magic and wishes with perimiter fireworks.

  5. Not really new, just an announcement.

Today was the start of Photopass season in the water parks. During the peak summer months, both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will have photographers positioned at key locations in the parks. To include the wave pool and lazy river. So if you visit the water parks, keep an eye out for Photopass. You may even see me there.

Yeh. My job does not suck.

  6. I've never looked to see if you can reduce the tip amount. I'm sure you could. I know you can add more if you wanted.

I've actually forgone the discount to give a lesser tip before. That was for very poor service.

I do not believe Disney tip shares. Just the servers are tipped positions.

If a discount is applied the tip becomes part of the bill. So no, you cannot separate the two. It's one total.

  7. Confused?

If I use TiW do they charge 18% grat. pre tax or post tax?

They calculate the tip amount based off the pre discount amount, tax included. Then they discount the bill and add that tip onto the amount.

The reason I said they make out better is because most people apply tip based off the total of what they pay. Not everyone uses pre discount to calculate the tip. So most of the time the servers make out.

And if you still want to be generous, there's a spot marked "additional tip amount" where you can add on the extra 2%.

  8. Thanks for that! I never thought to look at the voucher before turning them in. Since the tickets are pre-printed, I guess the system links the voucher number to that ticket.

So to clarify, the vouchers are essentially already active as long as they are linked to an admission media such as a Magic band? So if linked, there is no reason to visit guest relations, correct?

I'll have to give Disney some credit for that one...OK, just a little.

Correct. You only need to visit guest relations to get a card issued if you do not have a magic band.

  9. The paper voucher can be linked to MDX and used to book FP+. However, you need the voucher to start. So until you get the voucher you can't link it unless he sends the voucher number.

Once linked, you don't even need the ticket unless you do not have magic bands. If you have magic bands then just link the voucher and use your band to enter the park and redeem FP. Each voucher is good for 1 day park hopper. No black out dates.

Of course, if he is using his main gate to get you in, you cannot make fps ahead of time. He will have to meet you at the park, sign you in, and then give you his tickets which you will need to give back to him when done.

  10. CMs are given comp tickets they can use for what ever they see fit, except profit from them.

There are also some lines of business that get tickets they can use as guest recovery tools. Mostly guest relations and guest support.

I have used my comp tickets to get fiends in and have donated some to charity. They do expire so if not used they are just wasted.

Not knowing the full situation I cannot say wether he would get into trouble or not.

If it's comps then no. He won't get into trouble. If it's guest recovery tools then he could get into trouble for just giving them out.

  11. Sorry if I'm asking something that has been asked before (maybe even by me). But, my family has 2 trips to WDW coming up. My wife and I from May 20-26 and then my whole family from June 21-28. (plus another 2 weeks in Clermont off-property)It's my understanding that we can buy it now. Any photo taken on the first trip will last for 45 days. Then, as soon as we download the first photo from it, my memory maker will only last for 30 days from that point in time.Which means, I want to make sure that I do a set of downloads on May 20+40 days (which is June 29). THEN- my Memory Maker will be good for 30 days (which seems like July 29-ish).Does my math work on that? If so, that would actually let us use the Memory Maker for the couple of weeks that we are in Clermont doing Disney things in the evenings.

Yes. That works. just remember, it's 45 days from the date taken. So you'll want to be sure you're using the May 20 to base your dates off of. And be sure to download before that because photos are deleted at the 46th day with no retrieval method. You can purchase an extension if needed which would give you even more time.

  12. Cool video.

At about the 40 second mark they show several old wood boats. Does anyone know anything about them? I'd pay a $100 bucks to cruise around in one of them.

Those wooden boats are just displays. You can walk along a pier and look at them. They have informational signs that tell you all about them. Pretty neat to look at.

They do have one boat you can charter. It's a 30 min voyage around the lake and each person gets champaign and chocolate covered strawberries. The anticipated cost is $75 a person.

  13. Disney college program is an internship. They are not full fledged cast members. In fact, if they go on to become full fledged cast members their time as a cp doesn't count as time employed for seniority or service awards. So no, they are not protected under Union.

Union dues are not mandatory, but they are still protected under the union. They would just need to cover costs if they ever need the union.
