  1. I haven't had a chance to look at your TR in awhile, but thankfully I found some time today. I loved watching your JC video. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law both commented once about how when they were at Disney with my niece and nephew they saw some adults there without children and could not figure out why they go to Disney without children. Your video shows that it's all about how much fun you want to make the experience. It was funny just watching and listening to you all as you were joking around with the skippers.

  2. A Mini Post On What We Sort Of Got To See

My fellow fiends, how many of you know the home of Buffalo Bill Cody..... well now I do. North Platte, Nebraska. At least, that's where he residing at some point in his life.

Now that there building above you houses a miniture Wild West Show with moving parts (below) as well as the knick knack souvenir shop from hades. (yes, my fiends I have become a souvenir shop connoisseur.)

And finally... Buffalo Bill's House, on his ranch. If you look really, really closely at the bottom of the picture you will see plastic. The plastic is from the sandbags pile up to protect the house from, you guessed it, the flooding North Platte River. The entire complex was closed as they removed everything they could in order to protect it from the waters. It looks like a gorgeous house.....

Now I'm off to read someone else's TR for now....

Hey these look familiar. My husband is from Arnold, NE so when we go back to visit we usually end up over in North Platte for at least a day.

  3. *** If you have children who might enjoy an educational program in one of the parks try individual enrollement in Disney's Youth Education Series (YES). DD10 & Starla did the one in AK and really enjoyed it in Oct. We've been hoping to find availability for the Haunted Mansion & animation programs but they're always full on dates we're there. Anyway, we were able to purchase 5 day PH+ YES tickets for our entire family for under $200 each. 8 day basic tickets were $186 but we chose the premuim so we could have waterparks & DisneyQuest. you can read the original thread here... http://www.fortfiend...d-park-tickets/

If your children are of the ages to participate in this program, then I would seriously look into it.

  4. I didn't know the Lodge Cast Iron store was in South Pittsburgh. DH keeps saying he wants to stop over in that town the next time we are heading over towards Chattanooga. He wants to find the haunted house that was shown on one of those ghost shows. I think the house use to be a hospital. Clearly I did not watch the show with him. So, as any good wife does I just smile and say sure. Now that I know the store is there....well maybe I'll have to be more encouraging about going to that town.

Loving all the pictures of your girls. You have travel trained them well.

  5. Yeah!!! Another TCD trip report. I do have one question though...you mentioned this is your 14th TR on here; Is the 13th one going to follow this one or are you just superstitious about the number 13? You said your Halloween TR was your 12th and now we have the 14th. ???

    Wait!! I

    know what it is...

I haven't bought my official Fort Fiends sign yet so, I don't have one of those special privileges to view the 13th TCD TR. :rofl3:

  6. Thanks for sharing that information Carol. I had thought how much Rachel my 11 year old would love to be there when the taping was going on. When I say she loves watching the Disney Channel I am not exaggerating. It does not matter if it is a show she has seen 10 times before she would watch it again. I saw that the stars from Shake it Up were going to be there and really tried to get a trip there specifically so she could be there for the filming. It didn't work out and I was bummed, but now I think I am at peace about it.

  7. All right!! I have been anxiously waiting for this one. I like that it is going to be a no park trip. I do enjoy the parks, but the consensus around here has been that we spent way too much time at the parks and not enough enjoying what the Fort had to offer when we took our first family trip two years ago.

I was thinking the other day that we travel a lot (we have to as neither of our families live near) and of course have to stay in hotels often. I realized that we treated the Fort as just another hotel. So my favorite part of all the trip reports on FF.net is when people show me just how much more there is to the Fort and Disney besides a place to sleep, a pool and amusement parks.
