Thank you so much.
Checking in December 20 for three nights. Our first choice is a studio at the poly. We'd also like to know if there's availability for the same time and room at the grand Floridian, beach club, December 20 for three nights. We'd also like to know if there's availability for the same time and room type at the grand Floridian, beach club, and boardwalk. And also animal Kingdom Lodge but there always seems to be availability there.
Thank you so much.
Okay, no problem. I'm heading out the door to work at the moment, will post as soon as I can look, hopefully within a couple of hours.

We are looking into a split stay this Christmas. 3-4 days at a DVC and then 7 nights at our timeshare. We've rented from a third party vendor several times and will probably use him again. The only problem is I don't know what he has available. He doesn't check for availability until you request the resort and put up the money. I think he gets a lot of lookie Lou's. Or does DVC only show availability after you put up your points. I find it hard to believe DVC makes you put up points.
So is there a way for a non-dvc member to look for dvc availability?
thanks in advance.
I'll look it up on the website for you if you tell me the dates and the accommodations to look at.

I was going to ask about the prices but I'm definitely in the camp of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it." I already know I can't. I'll be camped on the beach at the Polynesian which shouldn't cost me anything. But with Disney, who knows.

We got annual passes a few times when our kids were little and we went more often. But not anymore.
But I just bought tickets with the recent deal through Undercover Tourist, get a 7 day ticket for the price of a four day. But what's nice about the 7 day from Disney is you can use it for more than one trip like what sherryberry is doing. That's pretty good.

I agree, we went to Santa Cruz also and enjoyed it. Our plan was to go to Roaring Camp for the railroad but we just didn't have the time.

Enjoyed your trip report.
I don't think I would have recognized Joe Rohde, well, except for that nasty earring.

If anyone has any other San Francisco recommendations, I'm all ears.
If you're planning to visit Alcatraz, get your tickets well in advance.
When we visited last summer we did all the typical tourist things, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, etc. If you're venturing outside the city, Sausalito is very nice. Had a great lunch there right on the water at Spinnakers. Also, we didn't stay in SF, we stayed in Half Moon Bay, just south of San Francisco. Very nice spot, stayed at the Beach House, ate a few times at Mezza Luna, fantastic Italian restaurant.
Not sure where else you're visiting in CA but Yosemite and Sequoia were the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

Thanks for the pictures, they're great. I think they've done a really nice job and now I can't wait for our trip there at the end of the year. Nice to see the topiaries have returned as well. It's those details that have always made me love the Wilderness Lodge.

Looks amazing! I'm not sure if this has been covered somewhere but are they tiering the fast passes? I'm guessing they won't let you get one for each ride.

Beautiful pictures from Epcot. I love the F&G festival, it's so pretty.
I like the idea of a ride and a drink at each park. I may have to implement that next trip.

That sounds really cool. Do the vehicles sway or anything? Or is all the movement felt from watching the screen?
I guess I have to watch this movie before we go in December.

Excellent start, can't wait to read more.

I'm in, page one, yay!
All I can comment on right now is the fact that JediElsa is wearing snow boots. In The Florida heat. Yuck.

The flags on the bikes made me think of a scene in this video- fast forward to 5:50, and you'll see a lot of bikes with flags following a big hippie on a small pony around the 400 loop at the Fort. Then the hippie escapes on the FWRR. It's pretty amazing
Wow, that's some video, I'm going to have to go back and watch the whole thing when I have time. I did see the bike scene though and all I can say is, that poor pony who had to take the hippie for a ride! Couldn't they have found a horse for him to ride? Or maybe hippies have a thing against horses.

Were the bikes in the movie that had the tall flags on them rentals back then?
I wondered that too. I think it was a thing back then because I can remember some of my friends having those orange flags on their bikes.

Very cool video. Some of the things shown I remember, although I never did see the train.

Love that you have the sign. Now when I look back at our pictures taken next to the sign I can say "Hey, I know where that is now..."
Very cool.

Thanks for the laughs. Although I was looking forward to trying the Live Off the Land plan...I've never had armadillo.

We saw it too, loved it. When we got home I had to google it to see how they achieved the Beast. They did an amazing job and I thought all the roles were cast perfectly, especially Gaston.

Yes, that's why we were there. There seemed to be a pretty good turnout. I think the longest line I saw was a 40-minute wait at the Mine Train, so really not too crowded. They did have free food, which is always a plus for me, even if it's something as simple as chicken nuggets, hot dogs, veggies, etc. They had a lot of different characters out and that really seemed to be a hit with a lot of people because there were some long lines for that. They had a special fireworks show that night at midnight. We enjoyed seeing a different show and it wasn't so full in the park that you couldn't find a good spot to watch it. We did have a good time and I would love to do some more of the DVC events at the other parks this year, but I don't think it will work out with our work schedules. If you have the chance to do it you should. I mean it's free - why not, right?
I'm glad you enjoyed it! We had actually reserved it a couple of months ago but we never found a good airfare that we could afford so we had to cancel . Now we have a trip booked for NYE, so even though I know there's no free party then, it's okay, at least we've got a trip in the works!

Wait a minute....you mean they are renaming "Silver Creek Falls" to Copper Creek Falls??
WTF?
Is nothing sacred anymore?
We have a lot of pictures of us, my parents, and other family members in front of that Silver Creek Falls sign over the years. INC and I are from the same hometown, and it's name is Silver Creek. So there was a personal connection we felt from the first time we ever visited the WL back in 2001. And now....gone.
Here's that first pic, from May 2001.
Here's a pic from Thanksgiving 2007 of the kids with my parents.
And I have more where those came from.
Thanks Disney. I'll file this up there with the cinnamon rolls.
We have pictures over the years in that same spot. Yes, you should have stolen the sign.
DVC availability???

Wow, I just checked and it's showing no availability at any of those resorts. I opened it up to all resorts and all that was available was the first night at SSR in a preferred view. Sorry.
