  1. We're part way into it.  We got out of the house and spent last summer in the motorhome locally.  the winter months we were going to stay in an apartment for 6 months but one of our kids could use some help financially so we pay them for staying with them, their idea...lol  It does help them out.

We fully intend to spend winters in Florida and maybe Texas some and summers traveling around with grandkids swapping out here and there.  We have to wait till September 2012 to go fully, for insurance reasons.  Have to be 55.  We are so ready.

Last summer we felt like we were always on vacation when we got back to the RV.  Fishing, frisbee golf, mini-golf and barbecues every day.  Yea, I can get used to that.

The kids were always out every weekend too...lol

Oh, and we're still getting rid of stuff from the house.  Gave away a bunch, selling some.  It's amazing how much "stuff" we had.  We still have 3 storage units 10 X 25 full...lol  Yea, we'll miss some of it, but we gave some to the kids so that when we visit, we can still see it.

Talking with many full-timers that were traveling through the campground last summer, none of them was unhappy with doing it.  In fact, some said they wish they hadn't waited so long before doing it.

  2. I just talked to an Andrew that owns a small family company that rents out trailers, he has 8 of them of different sizes.  His prices are extremely low.  A 26 foot trailer that sleeps up to 9 rents for as little as $70 a night , depending on the number of nights.  He has bigger and smaller ones too.  Including Hybrids as low as $55 a night.  That seems pretty good from what I have seen.  He does not supply all the bedding and stuff though, so that you would either have to bring or buy.  He can do setup and delivery or you can pick it up near Bradenton, Fl.  He delivers to the Fort frequently, picking up 2 this weekend.  Busy guy.

    His website is http://traveltrailerrent.com/Home.html

I told him about these boards and recommended he join the fun.

Hope this helps some camper wannabes or those , like me, who are considering renting rather than paying the expected gas prices when we go in June.  It works out cheaper for me when I factor in not having to rent a vehicle when I get here.

  3. We have stayed in the 100 loop twice and in different sites and both were easy to get into.  We had a 27 foot trailer plus the Van fit in front of it too.  I saw some larger motorhomes get into the sites fairly easily too.  I wouldn't worry too much about it.  I like the location and will be staying there this June.  Enjoy!

  4. My DH started collecting the alphabet. He has all of them but the t I think. He is determined to find it when we go. I like different Mickey Mouse pins. DD 11 likes old Mickey, and princesses, DS14 could really care less and DS6 just wants to keep trading whatever he has. LOL

Icancheck if we have the Tyou areloking for. My daughter's boyfriend I know did have one. I'l llet you know.  Unless it's "the hunt"  that your husband likes.
