  1. If we get to see Anna, you get to see our new Blake, who turns two on 12/21..  Our "new" four legged Savannah will be about three.  Looking forward to it.

I'm toying with the idea of 1209-1216, or so.  Those are deep sites and give DW extra room to inflate more stuff along the road.  I finally downloaded the site app last evening to our new iPad.  I know, every 10 year old has one, and probably knows a lot more about how to use it, but I'm old.

  2. Oops.  DW has been here so seldon, I didn't realize i posted under her login.

We usually go once every Christmas season.  DW is the one who eats the ribs.  I get one and some chicken, along with the potatoers and corn.  Shawnee can go through several loaves of cornbread as well as maybe a rib and several helpings of potatoes and beans.  Kimberly usually waits for the strawberry shortcake and takes more than her share.  We all take in a load of diet cokes and lemonade.  I turned into the family ogre by turning down a chance to go on stage last year.  Unlike Maya, I have no regrets, except for the glares from DW.  It's a fun show and the food is good, well worth a visit if you haven't been ...or even if you have been before.

  3. DIT,  Will y'all be there around Christmas this year?  We'll be there Dec 10-Jan 5...or thereabouts.  Melissa will also have at least her daughter and son with her.  We go to court in the morning to hopefully finalize the adoption of our little Blake.  He's been with us nearly a year, but DFCS would not let him travel out of state before this summer....after we signed intent-to-adopt papers.

  4. There's so much more going on here than over there.  And a more personable group, too.  Don't know why Judy has been absent.  She is around here every day, and has been on FB a lot.

We have a spike, but we will be joined around Christmas by Judy's daughter, "Trail Mix", in our old MH, who has NOT been spiked.  They have a sign and usually some good cooking skills, so they should be in good shape.  I don't know what apple recipes she might have.  (I need to get started on a shadowbox to display the FWRR trophy.  We've only had it a couple of years, so I'm about on schedule.)

  5. YEAH, i sent email to 4-5 Administrators and moderators, but never got a response.  I have emailed Ed a couple times with no problem.  I see so much incomplete, wrong, and misguided information over there and not many left to properly respond.  And give Lou credit.  He suggested several times for me to stop working over there.  Check that off your bucket list.

  6. From back on page one:  I was not flushed in the original dumping, and I continued to post over there until this past March when I was unceremoniously dumped.  They said I could never rejoin because I had been posting things designed to work around their filters.  Still not sure what they were referring to, and no one would respond to any of my 4-5 emails for an explanation.  I have figured out they somehow must know I know Dave, thus my  :flush2: .

By the way, I have met the aforementioned Ed of the crimson and white leanings, and I find him to be quite nice.  He even apologized for making a snide remark over there about Auburn.  Oops, now I'm probably out of here too.

  7. Looking back over this thread...The trams at Dollywood only look to handle 1, maybe 2, vehicles up front per tram/train, and it looks like they have two styles of transport, and only one type appears to have the ECV/Wheelchair position available, and no apparent tiedowns.  I need to look closer next time up there, but we park in handicapped parking, so we don't ride the trams anyway.  I know the steam train holds up to three vehicles, in the back with the conductor.

  8. The MH market underwent a huge shakeup a few years ago, so used models might be for companies that are no longer in business.  That said, there are support companies that service any MH, so thay can still be a good buy.  We have never bought a new one, but let me encourage you to look at some internet sites such as RVTrader.com and PPLmotorhomes.com for floor plans, prices, engines, transmissions, slideouts, etc.  You can get a good look at what's available and make your list of what appeals to you.  You might also want to visit some local area RV dealers and see what these units actually look like in person.  You will also want to check for the number of seat belts installed...for your family and their friends that might go with you.

We recently ( a year ago now) bought a used 37 foot Southwind that had everything we needed; three slides, side bath, sofabed. W/D, table and chairs vs a dinette, large fridge w/icemaker, etc.  As we began to use it, we discovered/realized the sofabed only had two seatbelts and the recliner was free standing.  We usually travel with 2-3 car seats, so we have had to do some inventive work to install an additional belt and tether strap anchors.  And of course we knew the W/D has a small tub, greatly limiting load size.  We had a side room on our previous MH and found we cannot use it on our newer MH because of the location of the furnace exhaust in the galley slide.  We still love the side bath and three slides, and our oldest can now use a small wheelchair around in the front part of the MH. Your results will vary.

Be sure to post your progress and results of your decision.

  9. I agree with Carol and TCD.  Last evening was NOT a well played game.  The second half was somewhat better, but still not up to a national telecast game standard.  I was also not too impressed with some of the camera work.  The director seemed to often be out of sync with what was happening on th field, particularly some kicking situations.

Does UF have a chance this weekend?  How about Clemson?

  10. We must have a GC when we visit the Fort to transport our kids around.  Although not a legal hang tag, we have a handicapped sticker on our windshield.  A dollar a day does not seem too much, but $5 a day is getting pretty steep on top of the campground fee.  As to requiring proof of separate insurance and being street legal, that is overkill for a campground.  But I guess I need to check to see if State Farm already covers mine.  Next I imagine they will go after making scooters be street legal.(Sarcasm).

I can see us cutting back or cancelling our visit(s) if cart renting from Disney becomes a requirement.
