  1. Have your kids done the passport thing at Epcot? My 7yo and 12yo really liked that our last trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. (According to Wikipedia,) "the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international living history group with the aim of studying and recreating mainly Medieval European cultures and their histories before the 17th century." What they do is also known as live action role playing. Every year, they gather in in a very large field in Pennsylvania for a "battle" known as the Pennsic Wars. This lasts for 17 days. This is someone's temporary shelter for those 17 days. Think we could set up something like this at The Fort? https://www.facebook.com/christopher.gilman.5/videos/1015316793
  3. I have dried my tears and am praying you have a safe journey. I would love to see any pictures you take on this trip. I know you will be mostly trying to get from point A to point B quickly and safely, but hopefully you can snag a few pics along the way. Remind the twins that the love of the Fiends goes with them!

  5. I have read of people going at the beginning and end of their AP, so it feels like the trips are a year apart, but in fact are slightly less than that.
  6. Both came back seriously happy. To tell the truth, neither of them had been thrilled to go. They knew it was going to be hard work in 95% humidity and soaring temperatures. All three of the offspring who went came back with injuries from working so hard. But they came back thrilled with the friends they made in Belize and excited to go again next year. My oldest, who you met at WWW, has been asked to consider moving there for a year or so to do an internship. She just moved into her own apartment, so she is torn. As far as laundry, they brought back a ton! But I was so thrilled to ha

  8. I have done that with my kids as well. When they were young, we would wear matching t-shirts each day to keep track of them. I could just say find the bag with the yellow t-shirt and they would have the whole outfit. When my 16yo was packing to go to Belize for a recent mission trip, he asked me to put together outfits with him and then we put each outfit in a plastic bag with everything he would need for the day. When the 14yo was packing for the same trip, he just crammed everything he thought he might need in his suitcase. LOL
  9. Rain = bad. Disney = good Rain + Disney = still better than a sunny day at home.
  10. Could you take the boat from FW to MK, then get the boat from MK to TTC and then ride the scooter from TTC to Poly? Of course, faced with all that, I would probably drive.
  11. We were at PO French Quarter and trying to get to PO Riverside. I was just trying to drop some cookies off for a friend's daughter who was doing the DCP and working at PO Riverside. I didn't know whether she worked at POFQ or POR, so i parked at POFQ and asked. They wouldn't tell me streaight out where she worked, but one helpful CM suggested i ask at the food court at POR. We thought it would be fun to take the boat to POR, so walked past the pool and down to the dock. There was a boat waiting there with about 3 people on it, but they didn't let anyone else board. After 5 minutes, i
  12. Sarah and i needed to get from Riverside to Port Orleans last trip (or was it Port Orleans to Riverside?). We waited 20 minutes in the hot sun for a boat and finally gave up.
  13. For our earlier trips, we skipped the parades so we could ride more rides. I mean, you can see a parade at home, right? It was TCD trip reports, plus those of other fiends, that convinced me to give WDW parades a try. Now, I am an MK parade fanatic. I even like the Move it Shake it parade! Sending you a big hug! :bighug:
  14. I like to book the FP+ for the second park when I park hop. I get to the first park before "rope drop", so as soon as it opens, I can do the rides that will have long lines later. Once i have done those, I enjoy the other attractions and rides at that park, then hop to the second park where I have my FP+ waiting for me. For example, I took my kids to Animal Kingdom early in the day. We rode Expedition Everest, with the older kids riding twice, then did the Kilimanjaro Safari ride, stopping on the way for pictures, atmosphere, snacks, etc. We went to the nemo show, then hopped to Hollywo
  15. As a mom, I would always want to be closest to the Meadows area. That is where you will find the nicer pool, the Campfire Sing-along with Chip and Dale, and the Movie under the Stars. Also, check the activity schedule for something in the sing-along area before the campfire starts. Chip and Dale usually come out to play along with that activity. All the times i have been there, these activities were poorly attended, meaning more interaction with the characters and cast members. We always are very happy with the bus service to the Marina or the Outpost.
  16. I usually buy a small box of Tide Pods before I travel. They don't take up much room and are easy to throw in the machine.
  17. I hope you do get some Fort time in - that would be great! And a trip report is always appreciated!
  18. I should also mention that my oldest has moved out, so I only need it to transport 7. My dh is now thinking a conversion van. I am still leaning toward a Suburban, but Li'L John says they are more expensive.
  19. It is a 2002 Aero Cub 236. The GVWR is 4720. I found the GVWR here: http://dutchmen.com/media/5212/2002-aeroliteaerocub.pdf
