  1. We will bringing a 32" flat screen. We have decided not to go to any bar due to the expense. If you like, you are welcome to come watch it with us. We were going to try to score an invite from from some other campers, but given we are just arriving Sunday, won't have much time to make friends. You are more than welcome to join us. I'm going to bake some pepperoni rolls for during the game.

We are not big drinkers, but DH does like to drink some beer during football games. The only problem is that DH is a Steelers fan (WV native) and if they make it in our DH's will be rooting for opposite teams. This is absolutely no problem for us, DH is totally chill. If Steelers don't make it in, DH is neutral.

You're very sweet. We appreciate the invite. We're looking at getting a small TV for camping also. We will probably get a 24" or 32" for the tent. I told Kenneth that I really would rather not go to a bar or lounge because I'd rather just go to bed when the game is over. I'm not a football fan, but I'll be watching the game since our team is playing. And hopefully there will be some decent commercials. Go Falcons! Maybe we'll run into each other sometime during the week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can get into the 1700 loop.

  2. We're in the same boat. When I made the reservations, I had no idea we were arriving on super bowl Sunday. And now, Atlanta is in it (we live in a metro Atlanta suburb), so Kenneth has to watch it! We talked about buying a tv for our tent, but we would only use it a couple times a year. And we also never got a tv for the tent, because we don't want to be tempted to stay in the tent watching tv the whole week. We still have time to decide about the tv and try to figure out the best place to go, to catch the game.

  3. Wow! What a trip! I'm glad you had such a great time. We were at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani a couple of weeks ago. B would definitely enjoy that resort. I woke up in the mornings, waving at all of the animals that were out (and giggling when kids around us came out and started talking to the animals from their balcony). And that tofu noodle dish at Kona is so good - I wish I was having that for lunch today!

  4. We are only a few months into owning our camper but so far

    Yes list

Stone Mountain - our go to, close, fun for kids and easy

Bald Ridge, Cumming GA (thanks Nacole and Mike)

    Campfire Lodgings, Asheville NC

    OK LIst

Pine Mountain - not bad, just not worth the drive for us

    No list

Fort Yargo, sadly only 10 mins from our house but no assigned spots, very tight

We kind of feel the same way about Yargo. We have friends that love it there, but I can't spend an hour packing my truck, drive twenty minutes and then spend a couple hours setting up. Just doesn't seem right to me. I might think differently if we had a trailer, but it takes us a long time to set up our tent and everything else at the site.

The only campground in Georgia we've tried so far is Fort Mountain state park. It was decent - lots of hiking trails, a pond nearby. But man, those bathrooms are nowhere near as nice as the Fort.

In October, we'll be trying Chattahoochee Bend state park. The friends that like Yargo found that one. They actually have tried quite a few of the state parks already. They picked that one because it's somewhat close to the areas where they are filming Walking Dead (they probably won't still be filming in October, though - I don't know how late they film). They took pictures when they went to check and it looks like a pretty nice campground. Bathrooms look pretty decent.

  5. I'm really late to this thread, but I LOVE everything you've done to your camper! It's super-cute!

We had friends that had trouble with Camping World also. They were waiting a while to hear back about a camper they were going to buy. They were told they would hear back by a certain day. That day came and went. Tried calling again on a Sunday and CW wasn't even answering the phone. Kenneth and I were in the area, so we pulled in and Kenneth asked the lady up front why they weren't answering phones. She said they must not have switched it over yet. So Kenneth told her they need to do that because we have friends buying from them that couldn't get through. Talked to our friends about an hour later and they said CW still wasn't answering the phone, so they went to a smaller dealership. Luckily, CW didn't take their deposit yet, at that point. We met them at the other dealership to look at the camper they were interested in there. They had a much better feel about this dealership. Camping World just never really felt right to them.
