  1. We will probably do a couple of character meals on our trip in April (either lunch or dinner) and then eat out on or two more times. All other meals at the trailer. When we were at MK 2.5 yrs ago, we ate at Cinderella's Table for our daughters 6th b'day, so don't care to do that again. Can anyone suggest some to do? Or to avoid? Is one day of the week better than others? Also, what is the best/cheapest (relative term for Disney) place on site at the Fort? Thanks
  2. So 40' sewer & 60' electric? Or more?
  3. Rainbow city, huh? I'm from Anniston, my folks are still there.
  4. Yep. I've got the Camco revolution, 20' total. I think I will pick up another kit and take a total of 40'. As per Dave's suggestion, I think I'll keep it in the box. That will give me 60' electrical, 40' sewer, and 50' water. If that is not enough, I think I'll just move the trailer.
  5. I like to have extras of stuff as well (I think I carry 3 extra nylon plugs for my water heater) but don't really have spares of the heavier stuff. My TV is a Nissan frontier and my TT is a 26BH. I am close on weight so I really monitor what I carry. However, on our trip to FW, I will be using my father in laws Dodge 2500 Diesel. So, no worries about weight. I have a 30' extension cord I could bring for electrical. The water hose, 50', I think will be sufficient. I am just wondering about the amount of sewer hose.
  6. Looking at the FW app I see that it list the hook-ups as front, middle, or back. My TT has the sewer in the back and water and electric towards the middle. I think I have 20' of sewer hose, a 30' electrical cord, and 50' water hose. Will that accommodate pretty much all the sites or should I give those specs when I put in a loop request? The sewer is the most limiting, so I would think sewer in the back (that's only natural) would be easiest and allow for us to back in all the way. I would not like to get there and have to pay disney prices for RV supplies (if they even have the stuff). I'
  7. I've pretty well decided on the 231 route. Is the bypass around Dothan the Ross Clark Circle? We will be driving that way in November to go to Apalachicola, so i can check it out then. Do you camp on the way down or do it in one shot?
  8. I just started looking at cheap wireless routers yesterday in order to use the supplied (with a deposit) modem and then have wireless in the trailer. Guess i will wait to buy one now. It (the Internet) is worth it for free but I won't pay a charge for it, will just use my unlimited data on my phone.
  9. I have no experience with long trips but we are planning our first oneto FW next April. From advice on here, we are going to do about 10 hrs on day one, staying right around the I-75 & I-10 intersection. I am going to try to get a pull through site and not even disconnect the truck. Then on day two that will leave us about 3.5 hrs till we get to the fort. Go to wecamphere.com and you can trace your whole route and see camp sites along the way.
  10. Has anyone ever stayed at Casey Jones RV park just on the south side of lake city? Thinking of an overnight on the trip down.
  11. My wife and I have looked at the loops and the loop videos and have decided on the 1400 loop. We figure that even if we go to MK 3 times, that is only 3 trips to the marina. However, we plan on going to the pool every afternoon and most nights doing the campfire, that make 6-7 trips, not including have to run back to get a forgotten towel, sunscreen, etc. That would make our preference list something like 1400, 900, 500, something. I have also looked at the FF app. I don't think I will have any trouble with the size of the sites, the total lenght of our trailer is 30' and we are pulling i
  12. Another option would be the Casey Jones RV park in Lake City, FL. This would not be out of the way at all.
  13. Thanks for the site vs CS ratio study, not something I had considered. I expect the only thing we will be using the CSs for is for showers at night. With sewer hook up, we can do that in the trailer if the CS is busy at the time. I will continue to look at it but y'all are convincing me on the 1400. I think I have decided the route we will take is the 78-65-231-10-75. After looking at wecamphere.com and rvparkreviews.com, I think that Lee's Country Campground in White Springs, FL will be a good stop going down and Deer Run RV Park in Troy, AL will be a good stop on the way home. Lee's is
  14. Thanks for the "check in time" info. I thought I read somewhere that check out was 11 am an check in was 1 pm. If we camp 3-4 hours out, I plan on being there about noon.
  15. I looked up Kelly's, thanks for that info. Even though a little out of the way if we come I-10 (maybe 10 miles), it might be an easier option than the state park. I am going to try to call them today. I hope to not even have to disconnect the truck so a large site would be nice.
  16. Thanks for the loop advice, the 1400 looks great for the campfire (which we plan for most nights) and for the pool. Is it possible to walk from here to the marina? Just thinking of different transportation options. As for the revue on the first day, I plan on making only about a 3-4 hour drive that day, arriving right around check in. I was just figuring that we would be less tired that day than on a park filled day. When we were at the MK in 2011, we did cinderella's table for my daughters b'day. After a full day there, then changing for the dinner, then dinner, it made for a long (and
  17. Thanks for the quick replies. I have read good things on the 500, 800, and 900 loops and their locations. Are the sites on the outer part of the loops better than the inner sites? I read this in the "unofficial guide" book and was just wondering. Is this because the inner sites can back up to each other? Are the sites that are near the CSs to be avoided? I am familiar with the I-65 to 231 route, will be driving that way in November to head to Apalachicola and have driven it in the past several times. That is the way I am leaning right now. I know there is more highway driving and through
  18. As the title says, I am pretty much new all around. After searching, this seems like the best place to get information to start planning my family's Disney trip. We have had a travel trailer for about 5 months and love to camp. Our last trip to Disney was in April '11 for our children's birthdays, stated at Kidani Village, and we loved that (can't afford another one of those). Now we have decided to put the two together and camp at Ft. Wilderness and take the kids to Disney again for their birthdays. Here are some of the details: Staying For 7 nights in late April Jayco 26BH (no slides,
