Ratatouille land coming to Disneyland Paris 2014

Recommended Posts

From Orlando Attractions Magazine...

Disneyland Paris has unveiled the first trailer for the Ratatouille themed mini-land that will open this summer in the Walt Disney Studios Park. The Oscar-winning Disney-Pixar film “Ratatouille” is the inspiration for a new ride, restaurant, and area that will take guests through the world of Remy and Linguini.

The ride is called Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, in which guests will shrink down to the size of a rat and join Remy and his friends as they scurry through the kitchen, dining room, and walls of Gusteau’s famous Parisian restaurant while trying to avoid the nemesis from the film, Chef Skinner. This attraction “shrink” guests to the size of a rat in a human-sized world, taking them through Gusteau’s restaurant, across Paris rooftops, and through the kitchen.

Loved Ratatouille. It would be cool if they could bring something similar to Epcot's France pavilion.  :)

I have to disagree Mo. WDW has enough kiddie rides. It's time for some thrill, action, adventure rides.

We don't need no stinkin Carsland, Ratatouilleland, or the sissy Avatarland, we need the "Captain America Super Sonic Jet Coaster", and the "Iron Man hold on to your butt" attraction.

Yeah sure but... that doesn't really go with the France pavilion.  8)

...oh and pretty sure Nicki will be first in line for the "Iron Man hold onto your butt" attraction.

Oh wait, that wasn't "hold Iron Man's butt?"

Nevermind.  :rofl2:

Like I give a Rat's atouille about continuity at the France pavilion.

Translate it into French and no one will know the difference.

Ok, for her, we'll call it the "Hold Iron Man's Butt" ride.

Video from the Disney Parks Blog...

After nearly five years of work, Walt Disney Imagineering is putting the final touches on a first-of-its kind attraction at Disneyland Paris called Ratatouille the Adventure. When the attraction opens in July, it’ll celebrate the culture and architecture of France and feature new animation created especially to bring the characters to life.

Today, we’re sharing a first look at the Ratatouille the Adventure, where you’ll shrink down to experience a wonderful new world.

Video from the Disney Parks Blog...

On the video, one of the Imagineers says something along the lines of how they have never had an attraction which creates the illusion of a guest being shrunk down to a small size to experience the ride.

I guess he's never seen the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground or the queue for Toy Story Midway Mania?  Or heard of the old Body Wars ride in Epcot?

I still have no idea what this is- I guess it's a ride, but no one in the video bothered to say that.

From the Disney Parks Blog...

We’ve shared several updates on our first-of-its-kind attraction at Disneyland Paris called Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy. It’s an amazing attraction that is now “award-winning.”

The Visual Effects Society recently presented its 13th annual VES Awards and Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy received the award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project.

The attraction, which debuted last summer as part of an expansion at Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris, uses forced perspective and other techniques to “shrink” guests to the size of a rat as they join Rémy on a whirlwind adventure through Chef Gusteau’s restaurant. We shared a special behind the scenes look last year.

Congratulations to the Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney•Pixar teams who worked years on making this spectacular attraction. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for future Disneyland Paris stories.
