My daughter and I will be in San Diego in early August and I am thinking about changing the trip to a camping trip. I have no idea where to start to try to find campgrounds, state parks, etc. We would be tent camping for this. Do any of you know any good options near San Diego? Santee lakes is a nice park and away from the city. The campgrounds along the bay and beach will be a little pricey. Can't remember if the parks in El Cajon and Chula Vista allow tents.
