I am going to continue with the few photos I have and add more when I get them.

Wednesday March 23rd Half Moon Cay

The plan for today was to meet down at the beach, and believe or not that is actually what we did. These pictures do not do the beach justice. This is the most beautiful island I have ever been to.100_6458.jpg100_6459.jpg

We stayed on the beach for about 2 hours it was HOT. Then we went to have lunch. These little critters joined us100_6460.jpg100_6461.jpg

They were so cute and not afraid of people at all.

Lunch was only ok. We all got a burger and they were all cooked to the consistency of charcoal yuck. I did have a really tasty white bean and shrimp salad and the fresh fruit was delicious.

After we finished eating Mike and I went back on the ship. I can only take so much sand in my panties :D

These were taken from our balcony100_6463.jpg100_6465.jpg

All aboard today was 3:30 and since we were tendered everybody made it back.

Had another very nice dinner and then went to the cabin to watch Survivor. That is probably the best thing about Carnival, they have network tv. After Survivor we went down the the Palladium Lounge and had drinks. Eli is probably the best bartender in the world. He made my drinks with enough rum for 3 peopledrinking-red-wine.gif

What a fun TR!  I've never done a cruise so this is all very interesting to me - I can't wait to get home and read it again and see what all those red x's look like!   My work computer blocks everything...

We did a trip with my sister-in-law and her family - we LOVE them - but quickly learned we should not travel with them... now, we just "meet them" places when they're on vacation and it's much better.

That's our plan from now on. We have done vacations with other friends that were much worse than this one. And we have been friends with Jack for 40 years, can't let one vacation ruin such a good friendship.

I'm home now - supposed to be studying... well... - anyhoo - LOVE the pictures - that beach does look amazing!  The pics are way better than those little red x's I get stuck looking at when I'm at work.

Off to do some classwork - Great TR!

Ok so far I have lost out on every single thing I wanted to do on this cruise.

1. I wanted to go in November for $798 and instead went in March for $1798

2. I wanted to fly, we drove

3. I wanted to stay at the Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel we stayed at All Star Movies with the pee-pee bedspread.

4. I wanted to grab something quick to eat and take a nap on Sunday, we went to Rainforest Cafe

5. I wanted to sleep in on Monday morning before heading to Miami, got rudely awakened at 7:15

So now here we are it's Thursday March 24, the one thing I said I was doing was spending the day at Margaritaville, basking in  the sun, using their pool while the friendly natives brought me fruity drinks.

When we went to bed the night before that was the plan, everybody was on the same page, ok, I am finally going to do something that I wanted to do.

We arrived at Grand Turk at 11 and by 11:15 we were off the ship. Magaritaville is just a short walk from the pier100_6477.jpg100_6473.jpg

We went straight to the pool and looked around for Jack, Shelley and Ryan. You guessed no where in sight. I grabbed some lounge chairs near the pool and Mike went down to the beach to look for them.100_6476.jpg

They were somewhere out there.

Mike found them and was informed that they wanted to stay where they were cause they liked the beach.

When he told me we were moving I said no gently carressing way! this was the only thing I wanted to do and damn it I'm staying here.

So we did :rofl2:Grand_Turk_10.JPG

After a couple of hours in the sun we went into the restaurant to eat. We were seated right away and enjoyed nachos and hot wings along with a couple of It's 5o'clock Somewhere cocktails. It was expensive but well worth it. I collect the souvenir glasses from every Magaritaville we go to.margarotavillesm.jpg

After we finished eating we went into the gift shop. As we were shopping who should we run into? You guessed it the vacation virgins. And they were upset again, they tried to get a table but there was a 30 minute wait. I know this is bad but I couldn't help saying to them " If you had stuck with the plan you would have been with us when we ate. We were seated right away".

Shopping finished we set out for the ship100_6474.jpg

100_6475.jpg

All in all it was a very good day. At first I thought we should have stayed longer, the ship is only there for six hours, but that was plenty.

We had enough time to get back on board and shower, then it was time for dinner.

I should mention that Shelley said the beach was nice but the sand was courser and there were a lot of rocks in the water. But the snorkeling was awesome. She said she saw a lot of different fish.

Doodle... I like your style girl!  Great TR and way to FINALLY put your foot down!  :rofl2:

I would have flipped out long before then.  >:D  The pool and fruity drinks did sound better than stepping on rocks and getting sand in your panties.  Then again.....  maybe you could have produced a pearl.  :rofl2:

I could have made a diamond from the burger the day before :rofl2:

Well I am out of pictures so I guess I will just wrap this baby up.

Friday March 25th

This was our sea day. We slept in, big surprise, had breakfast in our room and then wandered around the ship. We somehow found ourselves at the Palladium Lounge again. It seemed like it was always the same group of us sitting around the bar. As soon as I sat down Eli started mixing my drink. I liked the Yellow Bird, he called his concoction a Yellow Chicken because there was so much booze in it a chicken wouldn't be able to finish it. I had no such problem.

After a couple of drinks we made our way to the Photo Gallery and destroyed, I mean looked at our pictures. Have I mentioned I hate having my picture taken. Well I do, always have, but we did buy this one. It's not too awful. Mike liked it for obvious reasons

MomDad2.jpg

We then went to lunch. We decided too eat in the dining room and avoid the crowds. This was a mistake. Although we had a nice quiet table to ourselves the service sucked.

We sat there for ten minutes before a waiter came around. We found out that they were arguing about who's table it was.

I decided on a hamburger, I really had a taste for one and after Half Moon Cay I figured this would be an improvement.  Not so much. It was burned worse than the other one. The fries were good though. We were in the dining room for an hour and most of that time it was waiting around for service.

We then went back to the casino and I lost the rest of the $30 I had won.

Back to the cabin and an afternoon on the balcony. My Nook and I really made use of that balcony.

I wanted to start packing but Mike didn't, see I even lose with my husband >:D. I like to have it done before dinner so that I have the evening to myself. We took a nap instead.

At dinner we discussed self debarkation. I like to just grab my stuff and go. Jack and Shelley weren't sure. They went back and started packing and we told them to call with there decision. At 10 o'clock we get a call we have too many bags and one has a broken wheel.

Ok we will wait and get off at our assigned time.

Now this is another time I wanted to kill them. Vacation Virgins is being kind. We were on a 5 day cruise people. Mike and I each had one carry on size bag that's it. They had 6 and two of them you could have put a dead body in. ( don't think it didn't cross my mind ;))

Morning arrives and they clear the ship at 8 o'clock. I am ready to go but have to wait cause their debarkation time is 8:45 we got off the ship at 9.

For two days we were trying to decide whether to take I95 home or go back through Orlando. When Stef texted me back that they were in Epcot our decision was made. Jack is so indecisive we told him to just follow us. He was afraid of getting lost again so there was no problem with that.

The weather was beautiful again on Saturday until we hit Columbia. It started raining but that was ok cause we were stopping there for the night anyway.

Now this is strange and I still don't know quite what to make of it. I know we were all tired so I will Blame that.

As we were checking in the hotel phone would ring and the clerk would answer it leaving us waiting. I finally got checked in and Jack was still waiting. The phone rang again and Jack blurts out. "I've been in jail several times and once was for murder" . The clerks eyes were popping out of his head. Jack repeated this sentence and Snarky sarcastic me asks innocently "It wasn't a hotel clerk was it?"

Jack looked at me like I was the nutty one. I then explained to the poor clerk that we had been on the road a long time and everybody was tired.

Just so you know Jack has never been in jail nor has he ever murdered anyone. He does seem to get a little ornery when he is tired though ;)

We got something to eat and went to bed.

Next morning it is still raining and it rained all the way to West Virginia. At our next gas stop Mike said there was something wrong with Jack's Trailblazer.

They pulled around so that he could check it out. It was the water pump and it was in sorry shape. Jack told  Mike he new it was bad before they left Michigan.

What is wrong with these people? So now we have to worry if they will make it home. Mike says "keep it at 65 and you should make it"

Jack wants to go 75. I figure fine do what you want but if you break down I'll be waving as we drive by ;)

Well we made it home Sunday at 8:15 p.m. My dogs went nuts and so did I. We have decided all out vacations are going to be land based from here on out. IN OUR MOTORHOME.

It was a wonderful vacation, the weather was perfect. We are still friends with Jack and Shelley but we won't be going on a vacation with them any time soon ;)

Thanks for reading and letting me vent it's been fun >:D

>:D Job well done!! It's so hard to travel with other people, I've pretty much given it up all together. Sounds like a good time even with "the virgin friends."  I hear ya about pictures, but it's much easier to take them after a drink or 4!  >:D I'm glad you've decided to keep your future vacations on land, more of a chance for us to meet up!

Thanks Stef, with you living in Florida and it being my favorite spot to visit, I would think we will be meeting sooner rather than later >:D

I think you need a vacation from that vacation.  Grab a glass of wine, a bottle of beer, or a margarita.  Fill up the tub, turn on the bathroom heater (if available), light a coconut scented candle, shut your eyes and pretend you are on the coast of somewhere beautiful... all by yourself!  When the tub cools down, drain and refill!  When you do finally emerge from your "hot tub in the sun" have something delivered and pretend it's room service......
