Retired and Happy (Ken) 101
The worst thing about our oven is lighting it. I can't reach the pilot knob, hold the door open, and reach the pilot location at the same time. I need to work on this. As for a convection oven, I have used it a couple of times, but had to get a wire grill to put the food on so the bottom would cook. From what I have read, it is not much different from a regular oven except the time or temp must often be adjusted from the recipe.
bhall 115
I have never used the oven in this 5er or our former TT. In fact we have never even lit the stove. Sent from my iPhone

red...Susan 37
I find the smell of the gas strong. I have this problem at home also. I seem to be very sensitive to it.

Travisma 1,317
Nacole, you and my wife must be kindred spirits as she doesn't really like to inside the camper either.... Even at home she has me cook things like bacon or sausage outside so as "not to stink up the house"...If you do decide to give that RV oven a try, I would suggest that you pick up an oven thermometer to help monitor the temperature. The temps stamped on the oven knob are not always the most accurate... And I too am in the camp of putting some type of "stone" inside the oven to help even out the hot spots...On a regular home oven, you can pull the knob off, and there's usually a plate on the back allowing you to adjust the temp to match the thermometer. Not sure if a camper knob would be the same.
