Disney and Mylan recently announced the launch of new food allergy awareness resources that feature Disney content and programming.

These resources have been designed to help families that are living with severe and potentially life-threatening food allergies understand the importance of anaphylaxis awareness. The multi-media content include a new website – MyAllergyKingdom.com – a storybook, cookbook, and even food allergy-friendly events at this year’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival.

MyAllergyKingdom.com features recommendations, tips, and even real-life stories from experts and parents about living with food allergies. Families will find recipes, blog posts from two allergy moms, crafts and projects, and more.

Disney has also announced the Savor the Magic Sweepstakes where guests can enter for a chance to win a Walt Disney World Vacation that includes a special dining experience at one of three Walt Disney World Resort Restaurants.

Mylan will also be distributing two books by Disney Publishing Worldwide that were created for families living with severe allergies. ‘Show & Tell Scout’ is a children’s book about a fox living with allergies to peanuts and milk. The other book is a cookbook featuring more than 40 recipes inspired by Disney characters.

We've carried epi pens for the past 5 years and just (as in this week) switched to Auvi-q. Same medicine, different dispenser type. Now I feel like I am cheating on Disney haha! But instead of a stabbing like motion needed with the pen, Auvi-q is more like a "paid stamper" so it's pushing and not stabbing. Plus it talks to you and tells you the steps to do and repeats them until you do.

Found out earlier this summer that my 14 yr old is highly allergic to insect venom, after a very bad reaction to yellow jacket stings. We immediately started carrying  epi pens but after the allergist demonstrated Auvi-q we switched to that too because he liked the shape and the cool talking factor better.
