1700 Loop.. Best site numbers

Recommended Posts

Ok,  looking for info from all who have stayed in the 1700 loop. Our first year out of a premium loop. Decided on 1700.. We have reviewed the loop tape and there appears to be several sites in 1700 that are better than others. Recommendations from past experiences of who stayed there and which ones we should request and which ones we should avoid.. Our set up: 40 ft motorhome with slides. Thanks in advance.. We will be at the Fort First full week of December.. We are leaning towards 1718..

I have not stayed in that particualr site, but we enjoy the 1700 and 1800 loops the best for full hook up. Have you looked at the site info on this site under the info tab?  They have videos of each of the loops so you can see what it looks like.  Also you can download the Fort Fiends site app as well.  In looking at the app the site appears to be plenty large enough in length, but is rated as very hard for back in.

I know for a fact it can get tight in the loops when other camps do not respect space and park right on the road.   The one sight I would avoid in that loop is the one right before the path to the bathhouse.  The area next to the site will flood if it rains hard.  Also you get alot of foot traffic from the bathhouse.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!

1700 loop has several sites that are occupiied long term during the holidays so the "best" sites will probably be taken by the beginning of December.  If you are going to have a request specific to a site explain why you like that one in your fax so if it is not available they can try to find something similar.

We are 30 days out and have a full hookup booked.  Does anyone have any experience in the 1700 loop and specifically in the 1735 to 1738 range?

These sites look close to the comfort station and to the opening of the loop and looks like it would be an easy walk with 4 small kids to the bus stop.

We just got back from Ft. Wilderness.  Stayed in 1808.   It was a pretty good site but looked kind of low if there was a heavy rain.  Not that the site would get flooded, but It might have a pond in the back.   It was very quiet and away from most of the noise.  Almost backed up the the canal, but with 1 or two sites between us and the canal so no one was walking behind us.   Saw the turkeys and deer.   I was happy but need to bring bikes or rent a cart next time if we stay this far back.

Last time we stayed in the 500 loop.  Much closer, but we were across from the dog park and it caused our Beagle to get excited every time she heard the other dogs.
