No worries, that decreased attendance has been offset by higher average ticket prices and lower costs from decreases in labor and "efficiency initiatives.": Efficiency initiatives? What's that? Cutting park hours. Less staffing. Not paying for custodial castmembers to keep the parks clean. Turning up the AC. Selling space to 3rd party vendors. $500 Star Wars room decorations. Lots of empty buildings in the parks. Ending parades and other entertainment and not replacing it. You know, stuff like that. It makes for a healthy bottom line. And that's all that matters. Let's face it, how many other theme parks have an Anna and Elsa? Disney is the McDonalds of theme parks. LEGOLAND is probably the next park that has a brand that will attract kids (and some adults). But, I don't hear anyone saying "Lets head to Busch Gardens to see (not even sure who it would be and I have a pass). They go mainly for the rides and some entertainment. And with Seaworld's phasing out Shamu, there goes the one named character they had. But for people without kids, Busch Gardens and Seaworld with their buy a day, get a year free tickets, are hard to pass up, and SeaWorld in Orlando is still in the midst of all the other places to visit. So Disney may lose some daredevil and older visitors to those parks, but it's still the Family Destination of the Universe, and they know it. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

They knew it would drive attendance down while increasing revenue. Cost has always been a method of controlling attendance. It is a balancing act, and they are a business. May not like it, but the parks are more enjoyable with the slightly lower attendance which hopefully results in more repeat visits. I would expect to see some more promotions for the resorts though.
