On December 8th, I led a group of 120+ people on a tour of Fort Wilderness site decorations. All of you were so wonderful, coming out to talk to people about your site, like Dave the Castle Guy. I'm glad we finally met in person! I can't tell you how much it meant to me and the number of wonderful comments I got from everyone on how thrilled they were! They all said they were blown away by the Fort, the decorations, and the people. Many planned on going back, taking the bus like I suggested and getting out to see sites (like in 1600) that we couldn't do that night. All of them said they'd do it again and will tell their friends to make a point of going to Fort Wilderness!

Thank you!

It's funny, but when I posted about the tour (on a site and on facebook), I thought I would get 30 people at most. I never expected so many to come and I'm just thrilled they enjoyed it! I was VERY lucky to have the help of my husband, CDNCruiser, and his wife Carol! I never could have done it without them!

Silly me, when I envisioned doing the tour, I had planned to do a live webcam broadcast of it as I went along for people who couldn't make it. But people came EARLY and from the first second to the last, I didn't even have a moment to hit the broadcast button. Not to mention, people would have heard me repeating facts and descriptions a lot: "We're now coming to [fill in the blank]. Notice [item], [item], [item]" and then next 20 people, "We're now coming to [fill in the blank]. Notice [item], [item], [item]", and them me running to get to where someone was calling me. LOL!

Actually, that might have been fun. :)

I forgot to say, I also have to thank Disney/Fort Wilderness themselves. They were fantastic to me; I called them a few days ahead to let them know I was bringing in a big group. They were wonderful on the phone and then that night, security gave us a guy (Mark) who always made sure we got safely across the street & treated the guests & I fantastically! It made a huge part of the fantastic experience!

Great, a new way to get 120 of my closest friends in the fort as guest without making a trails end ressie or reserving a site....lol. Although I would focus on showing them the pool not the decorations

If I know that group, and I probably know LOTS of the group that came personally, 99% of them were Disney Resort Guests, DVC members, and/or Cast Members. This particular group spends THOUSANDS of dollars at Disney every year. Believe me, they are NOT FREELOADERS.

You are absolutely right Carol! There were no freeloaders!

These were all die-hard Disney fans! They were all there for Disney fan events and were undoubtedly Disney Resort guests or DVC Members.

They were BLOWN AWAY by the decorations at "The Fort".

I am so glad Erin invited Carol and I to be a part of it!
