Thought about you and all the other campers, especially the ones in tents, pop-ups or hybrids.

Same here, considering a Tropical Storm was formed out of that mess. We had tornados touch down just south of us on the East Coast.

  2. Disney is now giving out Cutter mosquito spray to hotel guests at check in as part of their mosquito prevention program. They also have stations set up at Disney Springs and the parks for guests to give themselves a spray. I wonder if we will get the same treatment upon check in at The Fort?

  3. I can't for the life of me imagine a scenario where they would ever reuse that pool.   They're never going to reopen a water park there, and if they ever build a DVC resort, that pool is so outdated in design it would never be considered part of a high end pool complex IMO.   The shape is outdated, the depth is outdated, it needs resurfacing, recoping, redesigning and resurrecting.  Any hope of the pool or any other component of River Country being reopened someday is just delusional nostalgia.

I agree 100%, my guess is this was just the cheapest and fastest way to remove that liability. What does it cost to have some truckloads of dirt and a crew to fill it versus a complete demolition where I assume you would still have to truck some fill into the site once everything was removed? This is a forgotten corner of property to the general public, so a quick and easy job was probably their goal. Get it done and move on.

  4. What TCD said. We were in 327 with a 26' TT in July 2015 and it was super tight. Your rig is considerably larger than mine. We actually stayed there before the new yellow lines were painted to "widen" the road and we were still cramped for space. If you can, I recommend upgrading to a premium site and requesting the 600 loop. The 600 loop is really the only loop that would allow good satellite exposure.

  5. Well if you're looking to sell carts to a targeted, captive audience, why not book a few nights at the Fort and put on a show?  Great advertising opportunity and a business write off to boot!  :)

This seems to be the most logical explanation. And I like it. I wonder if I could start a one cart rental service and "advertise" it at The Fort, then write it off.

  6. Last year we were in a site that had a couple of deposits.  Don't know if they were from a previous occupant or someone just wandering by the site.  We didn't have a dog at that tie, and we try to be more observant for our new fur ball.

I would venture a guess to say that was someone just wandering by. Those guys are pretty efficient at cleaning the sites fro, the previous occupant, including the surrounding "wooded" area around the site.
