  1. Well I sure want to know! Whoever it is, I want to schedule my vacation at the same time as her. I don't have enough nerve to use my lifetime mugs, I need some back-up.
  2. I'm glad to hear that. I didn't really think anyone could get away with reselling on Disney but I did think people may be using software to reserve popular dates like Christmas. I'm certainly relieved to hear it's not the case.
  3. This kind of thing goes on with National parks too. People have some kind of software program that beats everyone out for the sites. They are literally gone in 20 seconds. Of course then they pop up on Craigslist for 10x their value.
  4. That's what I always did when our kids were growing up. I'd precook anything possible and freeze in ziploc bags. Not only did it make meal times easier, but it kept the food longer and helped keep the cooler cold. We were tent campers at the time so I would have a separate meat cooler that only I was allowed to open. We could go a week and still have frozen meat. For those of you that own TTs, I would just cook whatever your kids like to eat at home. You have all the comforts of home and a full kitchen in those things. ;D
  5. Wow! I didn"t know that would work! Thanks so much for the info. That is exactly what I will do.
  6. I watched it .... all of it. I wanted to see how it ended, even though I know it doesn't. My son is now 22 and it's more painful than ever. His peers are off starting their adult lives. Autism (Aspergers) has taken me to some really dark places over the years, it's a cruel disability for parents and children alike. Our oldest son was in a motorcycle accident in 2007, at age 21, that left him a paraplegic. He has a normal life in comparison to his brother. People see his disability and understand it. He can relate to people on a normal level. Don't get me wrong, his life is very, very difficul
  7. :rofl2: Ace is next in line. I was at Walmart in a neighboring town today and they didn't have it either! Plenty of purple spray paint, but no fusion.
  8. Thanks, I just ordered my super goofy flamingo from LTD. I've been to Walmart, Lowes, and Home Depot for the paint and no purple fusion. I'm going to try Ace and Tractor Supply next I guess.
  9. I can't seem to find purple spray paint for plastics in any stores. I found it on Amazon - by some independant seller - for $35 a can!! I ended up painting my Mickey lamp post maroon and I really want it purple. Not only is it the FF color, but it's also the color of the trim on my camper. I found I could order flamingos already purple, although not in the goofy looking poses I want. If I ever find the ones I want I need to be able to paint them. P.S. Leads on goofy flamingos appreciated.
  10. Congrats! It's a beautiful TT! It will be great for your family to have a home away from home. That would have been a dream come true when my kids were growing up!
  11. WOW!!!! This is, by far, the best base ever! I'll keep my eyes open for one of those. I do live in a farming area, I may just be able to find one. Love, love, love this!
  12. What is everyone else using for a base? I don't really care for the plastic "fill up" ones, although maybe they would look better spray painted to match the pole. I used to have a nice heavy cast iron one but I think I left it when I moved from WV. And I think I have a Christmas tree stand, but don't really like that idea much either. Has anyone gotten more creative with a stand? I would love to have some other ideas.
  13. Good luck! With this bad economy I figure they'll take what they can get! They may tell you no at first then call you back in a week when you walk away. Be sure to post floorplan and pics.
  14. December does get chilly at night sometimes. It couldn't hurt to bring a small electric heater just in case. Just put it as far away from the tent wall as possible as the heat will ruin the tent material. You might never need it, but better to be safe than sorry when you have little ones. Jan. & Feb. get downright freezing at night.
  15. Do you mean the wiring? It's super easy, just two wires (and a ground if your plug has one.) Thanks for the tip about Publix.
  16. I finished mine awhile back and used the 6" globes because I thought the 8" ones looked too big. :rofl2: As long as none of us has Mickey lamp posts side-by-side they should all look great. I was too anxious to let my paint dry hard also! I haven't tried to take it apart so that may be a problem for me. I do have some touch up to do on the pole from now. My grandsons and everyone who sees my lamp post is so impressed! It's so tempting to pretend it was my original idea. I'm having a problem finding a base. Walmart never got ANY umbrella bases in this year. Home Depot and Lowes were b
  17. :rofl2::rofl2: Our oldest, who when she went through puberty, developed an aversion to camping, just recently bought a tent and some camping equipment. She's nearly 29 .... it took longer than I thought for her to come around. I think her DH and son had much to do with it. Our second daughter (25) is shopping with her DH and son for a pick-up truck camper. Oldest son (also 25) spends half his life camping now. Two youngest sons haven't rebounded yet, but I have faith. We actually had TWO of ours opt out of a WDW trip!! Teenagers are temporarily insane. :parrot: But, even with everyone, I'm s
  18. I'm sure the right TT will come along. You may be able to get away with a smaller trailer than you think. When they are little, kids can easily share beds. As they get older, the oldest kids may opt out of family trips to stay with friends or grandparents. I have four kids and a stepson (who lived with us) and I know as the younger kids got too big to share a bed, the older ones were not always along anyway. I was always judging campers by how they held 7 adults size people. The truth is, we never ended up with more than 3 adult sized people at a time. There is 10 years between my oldest and
  19. Okay. Sorry, I don't mean to sound dense. I've been towing stuff for so many years and I never heard any of this. I only went by the tow rating. My tow vehicle is old, maybe the didn't issue GCVWR back then? I can't find it. I don't think it's going to be a problem with my current trailer but I would like to know the safety # before I ever tow anything else. I have towed much larger and heavier trailers all across the country. Now, I'm thinking maybe foolishly so. The GCVWR is not my owner's manual but if anyone knows where I may be able to find it please let me know. My TV is '93 Jeep Gra
  20. Okay thanks, found it, I think. GVWR = 8900 (no C in there) So 90% of that number minus vehicle weight is 4,793. Even with people and stuff we are good to go with a 1,520 lb trailer. Assuming GVWR and GCVWR are the same. Are they? I was starting to panic there for a few minutes!!!
  21. Where can I find the GCVWR? I've Googled everything I can think of.
  22. Wow, this thread is really confusing me with all the acronyms and numbers! My Jeep has a factory tow package that says I can tow up to 5,000 lbs. I don't know what acronym that is .. just says it can tow up to that. Now, after reading this, I'm wondering if i should be towing anything all. :-[ My Jeep weighs 3,574. My trailer weighs 1,520 (dry). I'm over 5,000 before even adding people and junk.
