Im all for Russia, Poland or Ukraine. They would never do them just because of politics, but boy would it make for a good menu theme restaurant. I can taste the perogies and the borscht soup as I type

I know I'm a complainer but I just went to book 7 nights during spring break for March 2018 and the premium sites were $175 a night.  WTF?????   This is starting to get out of hand. Then the best part was I went to book Thanksgiving week (2018 to remind you) and each tier of campsite is not available.   Double WTF....    coming very close to selling the RV

I have to disagree on your friends saying to skip Epcot next time. Everyone has a choice or an opinion and ours is that Epcot is our favorite park. I will agree, they have no idea what future world is or what it's going to be but the world showcase is a gem all by itself.  You are right about thrill seekers. If you're going to pay upwards near $125 for a one day ticket, you want more than French pastries and Ellen yelling "stupid Judy" from the 90s in universe of energy. We were over the MK with the crowds and actually my kids were also. I guess with our AP it's nice to walk Epcot and have dinner at many different choices. But again, it's probably not worth the money for a one day ticket.  But either is HS these days

I agree with all of you. Epcot was a place of learning, imagination and working twords the future, but now it's too far gone to get it back to that. We rode journey into imagination on Saturday for the first time in years. I know nothing has changed on that ride in years, but to me, it's a Epcot classic that was never a classic to begin with. It's a good start for an awesome refurb

Starbuc71 got a reaction from Avatab.... Steve in Fort looks like it's been abandoned
What it comes  down to is that Disney's reservation system just sucks. They overbook when there are empty sites, they screw people over to try and make more money. They make it difficult as hell for someone to get a quick weekend, yet they have empty sites available. holidays are a joke  and it's nearly impossible to do the right thing and book a year out and get a reservation but yet if you book a day before somehow sites mysteriously appear.   And I know it's not all from cancellations. I guess you can say I was lucky enough to speak to someone way up in reservations. They basically gave me a song and dance about trying to reserve a site nine months out. I'm at the point that I'm really over fort wilderness.  yes, Disney has a good thing with the campgrounds, but it's kind of out of hand. I'm at the point that I rather just park my RV in my backyard and camp there instead of putting up with the BS that Disney forces on us these days. Yes I'm being negative, but I am still pissed that I cannot get the dates I want a year and a half out.

Because of the burn ban, the fort will be closed and all campers are encouraged to take all their RVs to the lime garage at Disney springs and watch the rain Forrest cafe erupt every so often in place of the chip and Dale campfire

Well, I noticed driving around the fort this week two new things. First the benches at the campfire have been replaced with little league baseball style benches. It looks like crap but much more comfortable.

second, I think some Disney rocket scientists left out what I think is the most important recycling bin,  the plastic.  In my opinion we throw out more plastic than anything...except glass beer and wine bottles

I couldn't have categorized it any better. Unfortunately I fall into the last group. Going back to the discussion of DVC at the fort, I wish they would do extra premium lake sites or something that DVC would really work out. They could add other  extra amenities such as a private pool other food choices and what not.  I think a lot of campers would look into DVC for that

You have to agree that premium pricing for Disney theming has gotten out of control?  If they are going to raise the prices for campers, add some amenities. Towels at the pool.  Better reservation system so you don't have to book a year out, MB readers at the pool gate.  Raise the site price= reduced fee in cart rental. Better quick serve food options (don't say the food camper)

How can these groups reserve a whole loop when I can't reserve Thanksgiving and the day after when reserving 13 months out?   I tried to sell the camper this year but the kids don't want to give up the fort. I still love the fort, but I'm about over the greed, the rule breakers and the plain old BS that was not at the fort years back

I'm still speechless.  I heard today Dolly Partons foundation is giving $1000 a month for 6 months to families who lost their homes.  Sounds like something Walt would have done when he was alive.  I also saw they have over seven suspects that they think started the original fire.  I haven't felt this bad since the gator incident st Disney. God bless these people and their communities

I thought I'd post a thread where fiends could post things strange, new or whatever during thanksgiving week. Here a few I saw
    1.
this was only parked for a day near the DVC kiosk. Never saw it before.
    2.
new whatever's being built by the lodge.  Back when I was here in July, they were just clearing the land.  They look huge.  I think I counted 16 on each side of the lodge
    3. Empty sites
as of Tuesday morning, there are 13 empty sites on the 2000 loop, 8 between 1600-1900 and 3 on the 1500 loop.  I haven't checked the rest yet but I'm sure there are at least 10-15 more between the other loops  The new loop looks nice   It has 3 empty sites
    4. Refrigerator group
i thought I was going to report no sighting of the large group who are always here that bring a full size fridge and dishwasher but I was wrong. They are on the 1500 loop with (3) full size fridges and at least (2) full size dishwashers....no comment
    5. Fence frenzy update
looks like all fencing is complete at the fort. All 3 playgrounds are now all fenced in with black chain links and gates. The pool fencing is complete (with no card readers) and most of the water eats in common areas gave the rope fencing. Creeks/canals behind most sites just have gator and wildlife signs posted
    6. Less merchandise is offered at the trading post than years past.  It looks like less toys and clothing
    7. No main tree near trails end as of yet and a lot of garland not lit on trails end
    8. Seems all the buses have a digital sign on the back that says do not pass. Also it looks like all the buses were retro fit with HID lights. They are all super bright now.
    9. Epcot has minimal holiday decorations compared to other parks  Maybe this was always so   Future world continues to become more pathetic

Going to Disney springs tonight  will report on new things

Some of the old timers on here know that the fort has been our family tradition each thanksgiving for the past 10 years. As I sit in my recliner at the fort, I tell the wife I better make reservations for next year. As I check online, I'm crap out of luck for anything next thanksgiving. So, I called Disney reservations and they stated they are totally booked. Now I'm hoping someone cancels in the next few months. I am suspicious as stated before that Disney holds back sites closer to the actual date. I'm a planner and like everything booked and set as early as possible. My next question is, should I now look online everyday to see if those dates pop up if and when a cancellation comes to be?  I even tried the old trick of booking a month forward or back but no luck.  Some of you may think I'm crazy worrying a year out, but Disney hardcores know the drill
