  1. I agree with people getting trained when they purchase, after all in some states you have to take a course to get a motorcycle license.

On another note have you ever had to put someone's camper in their site for them, I have 1 friend that at least once a year that i will have to back in for him, really pisses him off because he always says that I make it look easy, he forgets that I back up sometimes20-30 times a night.

  2. We were in the 800 loop this past 4th of July and did not have any problem, but I drive tractot trailers for work, and our friend was there also and he did fine. We did see a gentleman in a very large mh rub the low lightpost all the way down the side of is coach when he was leaving, never even stoped even with all the noise itr made.

  3. How far of a ride would it be to York from the campground? There is a model train store there I would like to go to, I tried 2 weekends ago when I left the RV show @ York but there was a St. Patty day parade in town and I could not get close to the store, thought maybe I would try from the campground. Thanks for any help

  4. OK I just got back from the Fort for 10 days and now I have a new most aggravating thing that people do.  PLEASE use the hook and unhook area to unload your stuff.  I understand that people tow cars behind your motorhome and trailer you golfcart or put them in your toy hauler.  But do not drive through your loop and start to unhook it or unload it in front of your site and block the whole loop for 15-20 mins.  I watched this happen probably 5 or 6 times this past week.. Please the unhook area is there for a reason... USE IT!!  Or use the overflow lot.

OK I am better now thanks!!!!! :dropjaw:

I agree I guess some folks can't read!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Ok count us in just got off the phone the only site they had availabe to fit our 39' 5th wheel was site # 1 so it looks like we will get alot of walking that weekend to meet everyone, we will be there on Thursday 4/21 - Sundat 4/24. Right now it will be just the wife & I unless our 16 year old son will be seen with his mom & dad  :dropjaw: ;) :siren:. See you all there :siren:

  6. How'd you make out on a site dblr? Were they able to fit you on 28?

I can take along one of these  :dropjaw: in case we need to make it fit...  ;)

Anybody want to move further back to the WE sites for a buy 2 get 1 night free discount, by chance?

I will call when they open on Monday checked their web site Sunday and they say the office is closed, must be during the off season, they open @ 9 so I'll call soon

  7. Hey rdancemom, we were thinking of coming up to meet you all we have a 39' 5th wheel with 3 slides do you think they would have a site that we would fit not to far from everyone? I do not always trust some campgrounds that I have not seen for myself. Thanks for any help.

  8. We have stayed @ Tropical Palms and thought it was nice, we liked the sites in the back they were larger. Last year we stayed at Thousand Trails as we are members, could have stayed there the whole time but no magic there. For anyone interested you can join Passport America for I think $49 a year and now get sites at Thaousand Trails or any Encore park for half price just not sure what restrictions there, they might vary by park might be worth checking into. The nice thing is you can renew or let membership expire in Passport and rejoin later when the need arises.

  9. My wife & I met in a campground so yes we plan to retire and travel, the oldest son has made the offer to stay living at home so someone will be there to takes care of things( not that he does any of it now) and the yougest son has offered to keep all my trains with him if he moves out, somehow I get the feeling neither one is moving out. Well that won't be to bad at least we will still have a home to come back to ( I HOPE )

  10. We are from the Phila. Pa area so  we do cheesesteaks with fried onions and peppers, If it's  a long trip we might even use the same fixins and instead make mountain pies at the campfire.

We also do the suace and meatballs and sausage in the crockpot.

Smoker- ribs chicken and even a turkey.  Deep fries turkey also.

Winter time beef stew in a crockpot or chicken & dumplings.

  11. I have seen some folks put a hitch on the front of their tow vehicle so they could push their unit in instead of backing this could be an option just don't know if you would like that. Plus the reciever could bu used to carry bikes also or anything that uses that type of system. Just a thought. I have heard some folks think it's easier to push and watch then try to back up. I think I would lean towards the use of a dolly

  12. Try to look at some of the toy haulers with the garge door on the side, they do not seem to be a sporty as some of the others( they don't look like race trailers). They might not hold as much but I have seen them in both travel trailer and 5th wheel models.

Also check some companies have either pop ups or hybirds with a open deck in the front for the toys of course it is unuseable when the front bed is out.
