  1. Seen this at Dover Speedway....

It is rude to unplug someones camper from THEIR generator and plug yours in, then get all ticked off cause your pup was left with no air on!!! Oh it is is also rude to knock on another campers door and ask to use your toilet cause their black tank is full!!

:D :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh:

    It was Delaware...'nough said!

I thought it was because you were at a Nascar event.

I live close to Dover and will not go to the race gets a little to crazy in some of the lots there.

I'd expected to buy from Leo's. We visited their lot a few times last summer and thought they were great, I'd talked to them about the TH we wanted last week and went back today armed to finally hand over that check. Talked to an older, experienced looking salesman who was sitting at the table with a factory rep and told them we'd brought our checkbook to make a deal today. During the week, they'd sold the one on the lot but offered to order us one at the sale price. We were looking good until I gave him the figures I'd gotten from both the all-cash internet dealer and the dealer in PA who'd given me figures with my trade. At that point, he told us to go buy from one of them. The Outback rep asked who the PA dealer was. We told them and he started to wonder how they could do it when the salesman promptly said something like Oh yeah, they can, they're wh***s up there. They'll do anything.  :o

Alrighty then... DD10 was right there next to us and, while I was suprised to hear such a candid and uncensored, totally unprofessional sentiment voiced in front of us, DH was inwardly seething so that ended that. It's not that we haven't used that terminolgy on occassion in our 50+ years but we'd never use it to a customer or in front of somebody else's young child.

We still wrote a deposit check for a 280RS TH today - just to a different dealer.

Congrats on the new TH and also for walking away from someone who I guess does not need to sell campers, it was a shame the way the salesman spoke most woulod have said I don't know how they can sell @ that price, that would have been  better. Hope all  works out well and have fun with your new toy.

  3. We were at the Timonium show last weekend and have passes to go back this weekend for a more relaxed look. Hoping to strike a deal and hand over that deposit check then. If not, we'll probably buy at the Harrisburg show. Spring's coming and I was literally chewing aspirins while hauling our too-big TT as it swayed across the interstate lanes last summer. No way, I wanna do that again... ever. I'll go back to tent camping first.

Anyway, while I chatted at the Timonium show with CG owner friends from last summer, DH went around entering his name into all the drawings. As of yesterday, he'd already gotten two calls telling him he won free stays at two different CGs. Shame they weren't giving away cruises, with this year's crazy weather I could sure use one of those... 8)

What dealer are you working with we tried to but a unit from Leo's Vacationworld, never made it but not for trying very hard they were pretty good to work with just had a son starting college and was nervous with getting school loans and all. We did and up buying @ the Hershey show that Sept. after things were done for school.

  4. The bedrroms are set up with 1 queen size bed in 2 of the rooms, the 3rd bedroom has a set of bunkbeds then in the livingroom the sofa is a queen size sleeper and a chair becomes a bed. I heard that the chair is best for smaller kids. Also they have 2 bathrooms. We were glad to see them make a comeback even tho I think some are newere ones.

  5. on our new unit we got a electric awnig so now we roll it up when we leave, the older one we would leave out but i would have deflappers on it plus I would have it tied down and we would also lower one side to drain, my friends use to kid me and say the camper would blow over before the awnig would. On a side note I do not think the new electric awnings are as strong when they are out so that is one reasons I close it when we are gone(IMO).

  6. You do not always have to buy the unit from the show most dealers will let you order onet . We bought our Ceard Creek @ the Hershey show over a year ago, we worked the best deal with the dealer @ the show, took that paper work and found our local dealer who also sold Cedar Creek and he matched the deal plus threw in a couple of options for us.

You do have to know your prices and not get overwhelmed by the wow factor and the hype of the show, know how much you want to spend( research) and be ready to say no I'm sorry that's still to much and walk away. Rememger they have to sell to make a living you only have to buy if you want to.

  7. We went the week between Christmas and New Yearyss a couple of years ago and both my boys thought it was a great week, we even spent NY Eve  in the MK from 9am till almost 1 am and never left, it was GREAT. The worse  thing  was leaving the park I do think they could do a better job of this as everyone seem to be trying to cross paths all the time to get to either the monorail or the boats, it did seem to take forever.
