  1. The size of those photos is fine.  They are adorable.

Thanks for making me feel old, though.  I graduated from college in 1982.

I see someone with one of those 110 instamatic cameras in the background of you first photo.  I used to have one of those.  It took terrible pictures.

I can't figure out what the heck is on that float in your second photo.

Is that your dad holding you?  He looks very young.  He must be around my age.

    Thanks.

    And you're welcome. ;)

Yep, that's my dad. He was in his late 20's at the time.

  2. I just finished looking through the entire thread. Gold star for me.

I need to take some pictures of pictures next time I go to Mom and Dad's. They have tons of pictures from 1980 and on.

I'll post the picture later, but there's one of my dad, my brother, and me at one of the parks. I'm going to guess it was 86. We're sitting in front of a topiary in the shape of the number "100". We can't figure out what it was for. I think a black car may have been in it, as well. I'll have to look again...

  3. Follow this link to see my RV, http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/9454-our-newly-purchased-under-construction-rv-gets-its-ears/

When we showed up at the Fort they want nuts over it. Took pics toured the inside and gave us a bunch of free stuff for being such devoted fans. Bottom line is we are not profiting off of Disney stuff and we are representing Disney in a positive light. There is not a campground or rest stop we go to where we don't have a group of people talking Disney. It really is a good time and is free advertising for them.

    Welcome to the forum,

    Tim

I've looked at those pictures before, but I have to say, I never get tired of looking at them. Awesome job!

  4. For a couple nights at that rental rate, you could pick up a decent tent, plus tarps and other supplies, at WalMart.  Then when the trip is over, donate the tent to charity and take the deduction.  The rate for a site + rental tent + cots, if you choose them is about the same as a value resort.  I'll take the All Star room with air, thank you very much!

That's a good point about the tent from Walmart.

Not sure about choosing All Stars, though. We got stuck at the Poly one year when we had issues with our tow vehicle. We were less than thrilled, although in hindsight, we probably should've at least tried to enjoy it as opposed to being put-out that we couldn't be at the campground.

  5. We've stayed in preferred sites (before and after they re-categorized everything) and the 2000 loop.

The 2000 loop trip was during October when it should've been quiet. We had loud neighbors that included kids who thought flashlight tag through our site was acceptable behavior. Had to bust out my teacher voice on that one...

I'm not saying the 2000 loop is always like that, although I have heard some similar/worse stories, and I'm not saying that can't happen in the other loops. However, we won't be chancing it again.

  6. We always stay in the preferred loops (ok, almost always. We tent camped in 2000 once). We've even tent camped in a preferred loop on several occasions.

Does it cut down on a lot of walking? We think so. My dad has knee problems, so he tries to cut down on walking when he can. Maybe if we actually calculated the amount of walking, it wouldn't add up to much of a savings. But, it seems like it, so we choose preferred. We love staying in huge Settlement area, anyway.

  7. Yeah, that looked like a bunch of freshmen last night.

I'll bet most of them will be gone to the NBA when next season comes around. But y'all will reload.

I don't know what the answer is to "One and Done," but I'd like to see something done to cut down on it. It's not good for the sport.

I'm glad the season if over. I've had enough.

    TCD

Yep. Something needs to be done about "one and done". The NBA needs to make them wait at least 2 or 3 years.

  8. Ugh. I'm less than thrilled. UConn seemed to want it more from the get-go. I think there were a few bad calls, but we still could've won it if we would have just hit our free throws. Absolutely ridiculous. We couldn't hang onto the ball, and we couldn't score when we had it.

I'm with Coach Cal, though. They're young. I can't imagine the pressure of playing in that game. Hopefully they'll be back next year with a year of experience under their belts. They did far better than anyone would've figured a month ago.

  9. Well, here we are!

Only four teams are still playing at the end of another long season.

After tomorrow's two big games, there will only be two.

I am hoping to see a Gators v. Wisconsin final on Monday.

I feel good about the Gators beating UConn.

If Kentucky beats Wisconsin, then I don't feel good about the Gators beating them a fourth time this season. Those freshmen have gotten better.

    So Go Gata.

    And Go Badga.

    TCD

I was actually hoping that we'd play Florida tomorrow.

Our freshmen have gotten lots better, but they can still give a person a heart attack. They're killing me. Lol

  10. Do I still get bragging rights for this page? O.o

Sounds like you all had a great Spring break!

We love the 100 loop. It's our favorite by far.

FoF parade looks really cool. It's a must for our October trip.

I admit it - you had me with the bat letter. I'm slow on the uptake and didn't catch on until the TSMM FP. Good job!

Florida played a good game against UK for the SEC championship. Hoping for a rematch pretty soon for the NCAA championship. Whatever Coach Cal did to tweak the cats, I'm glad he finally did it. Better late than never!

  11. I had wondered about that, too. We're debating on getting a motorhome in the next couple of years, and M would still be in a car seat.

I'm not really sure what the actual laws are, but I've heard the following strong recommendations:

    - Car seat has to be buckled in a forward facing seat. No rear-facing dinette bench or side-facing couch.

    - Car seat installed in a seat that is mounted to metal frame.

Not sure that helps, or not.
