  1. We just got back from our Disney trip, and we did both. My kids are 17, 15, 13, and 5. They all enjoyed both, but I think the teens enjoy Hoop Dee Do more. There was more slapstick and physical humor, whereas the BBQ has the characters young kidd like. That's just my take on it. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks again, Ryan. I went on Facebook and put out a general request for a used fridge, or one to borrow, and a fb friend of mine came through -yay!
  3. Thanks for the offer! When the hubs gets home from work, I'll see what he decides and let you know if we'll take you up on it.
  4. Thanks for all that info! I wondered if the fridge would need to be transported upright, due to freon. The ones I'm considering are too tall to put in the pup, not sure if the back of our Suburban has enough height for it to fit.
  5. Ah, so the ice isn't "complimentary ", then? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  6. A couple questions - we've had multiple unforeseen expenses recently, and my husband is looking to cut unnecessary additional expenses before we head out Saturday, arriving Monday at the Fort. We are staying in a pup, and up until about 10 minutes ago, the plan was to buy a small fridge for it to keep dairy and perishables in... The hubs just texted me-asking if we could just use the ice maker at the comfort station, and bring 2 coolers. I told him I'd ask in the forums for opinions of experienced FW campers. Told him I didn't want to be "that" camper that empties the ice machine
  7. Well, here's hoping all the washing machines in our comfort station are working next week!
  8. Not at all! You don't mess around when you have a history of DVTs! And like I said, this will be our first road trip-we haven't done it yet, and may discover that 600 miles is a bit much. We're hoping to get a very early start, plan for potty breaks and a breakfast/brunch stop, so we can get to our hotel by dinnertime and relax, use the pool, my hubby can soak in the hot tub, if there is one...
  9. This will be our first big road trip! Leaving Wisconsin on Saturday, arriving to the Fort Monday morning. I have hotel rooms reserved for our drive there and back, since finding a room that sleeps 6 may be a real hassle without ressies. Planning a little over 600 miles Saturday, about 430 miles Sunday, and just over 200 miles Monday morning. We have 4 kids, ranging from 17 down to 5, so we're stopping where there is a pool and free breakfast at each hotel.
  10. My thought as well. I'd rather have it, and chance being told no, than not even bring it. And if they don't approve if it, maybe the Trading Post will have something permissible.
  11. Well, I picked up this ^ particular floatie on clearance. Hoping we can use it, but if not, it will get use at some point! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  12. Actually, I'm thinking more like swim rings, or something like this:
  13. Wondering if I could bring a floatie for my kids to use at the Meadow Pool? Are they permitted? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  14. Love all of this! We're going in a couple of weeks, so likely before it comes out. Boo! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  15. Has anyone done any of the pony, carriage, or wagon rides I see under the Sports and Recreation tab? We plan to have one full day at FW during our visit next month, as well as a flex day, where we'll play it by ear. The Meadow Pool is a given. Didn't know if the pony ride was a "real" ride, or just circling around? Are the wagon or carriage rides worth making time for?
  16. Pop up Gizmos? I'm considering that as well. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  17. We recently got a new to us 1999 Rockwood Freedom. No ac, but we want to add it. We'll see if it can accommodate a rooftop unit, but we are also open to a portable or window unit. We will be camping in Disney's Fort Wilderness next month. Is there a recommended minimum BTU for pups? We plan to be out at the parks or the pool during the day, and hope for comfortable sleeping at night.
  18. So, when we buy goodies in the parks or Disney Springs, they offer to deliver them to our resort. For those of us camping, would they deliver to an outpost, like where we check in? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  19. So, last time we were here, we stayed in the cabins and took a friend's advice and ordered from Garden Grocer. It was very cool having an already filled fridge when we arrived! Next month we're road tripping and staying in our pup in the campsites. Didn't think paying the higher prices for GG was necessary this time. So, coming from the North, which is your favorite, easy to get to grocery store before checking in at our campsite? (Or for that matter, easy to get to after we've settled in, and may need to make another grocery run?)
  20. Who has found these to really help survive Florida summer heat? We're going next month, and I'm researching EVERY way we can make our trip as comfortable as possible, from Gizmos on our bunkends, to bringing Gatorade poweder, to this!
  21. Hoping to see this extended, then. We're going next month, and I considered the dessert party, but it wasn't even available for me to reserve. Pretty pricey, though...
  22. Yes, I know good athletic shoes (tennies) are probably best, and I will pack my New Balance, but in the heat of summer, I can't stand my feet being so enclosed, even here in Wisconsin. So I plan to get a new pair of Teva sandals (break them in a little, if necessary ) before our trip. They have great support for my "weird" feet, can get wet, have good tread. Anyone else love their sandals for lots of walking?
  23. What quick service options are there at the Fort? I seem to remember getting pizzas for 2 QS credits each back in 2012. We're doing the DDP again, and plan on a FW day for our first day, maybe with a trip into DS for shopping, souvenirs. No ADRs for the first day, planning to play it by ear.
  24. I don't even know if this is the right board to ask? First, I was somehow under the impression that we can't do online check in until 30 days before arrival, but when I went to MDE to see, it is available to me, even though we aren't going until August. So, first, if I put in that I don't know approximate arrival time, can I amend that later? I've seen where people will fax their loop requests, but it looks like I could request a loop during online check in, too. Hoping for loop 1500, which is a smaller loop, but on another forum, someone commented that our being there during a slower season
  25. We'll be there in our pup, but we weren't originally going to stay in the cabins. We like camping, and finances this year we're such that it was either cut some costs (campsite vs cabin) or kiss our 20th Anniversary road trip to Disney good-bye! We'll be installing a/c before the trip, requesting a shady site when I do online check in, not cooking much-we have the DDP. I participate in some other forums-general pop up forums and Disney, and I'm getting all sorts of input, some of which has me nervous (specifically some warnings about the heat). We plan to keep hydrated, replenish electrolyte
