  1. Technically, I haven't camped at the Fort (if that means sleeping), although I've been visiting since working at WDW in 1973. And I've had some trains there for the last two Halloweens, but its my neighbors who actually stay on my site in their trailer.
  2. Funny!!! Eat one, get one free! This month only!
  3. Don't know about the Fort, but nearby they are much worse today than they have been so far this month. (Just when I decided to work outdoors!) :gaah:
  4. Gwen, I should have added that the love bugs will be gone long before Halloween, actually in a couple of weeks. And so far they haven't been bad at all where I live, nearby.
  5. Last Halloween the skeeters were bad in the 1400 loop!
  6. Hey TCD, great answer and explanation! Nice to know, and good point about the "loophole". Thanks! :10220:
  7. USAF 1961-1965 78th FIS, Westover AFB 319th FIS, Homestead AFB 33rd ABS, Tan Son Nhut AB, Vietnam
  8. Good grief! Would they really let him in the park? Although I haven't been to MNSSHP, I have watched guests arriving, and haven't seen anything like that before. How was the rest of the family dressed (or un-dressed, as the case may be!) ? Which reminds me, what do you call it when you put 7-Up on your salad? UN-DRESSING!!!
  9. Work on "The Little FWRR" is progressing, in preparation for a visit to the Fort for Halloween. If interested, you can check out the website for more details.
  10. I voted "Other". I spent January hanging out on the DCL forum because I was cruising The Dream in February. After the cruise I hung out there for a while longer, then realized something had happened, but never quite figured it out. I'm waiting for the movie to come out! I guess I Googled around til I got here. (I have to own up to maintaining dual citizenship.) I have to admit to being more of a train person than a camper, but I do love the Fort, and all of the friendly people. I hope to get along with everyone, as much as possible.
  11. I too love the old photos. Thanks for posting them!
  12. Joining the crowd to say happy that you are all safe. Thanks for showing all how to stay safe!
  13. Discamper, according to the maps in David's book, it appears that is the 1100 loop.
  14. About the location of the second photo in the blog, Dave Leaphart (author of the FWRR books), said on Burnsland.com that it's at the Possom Path station.
  15. Thanks, TCD! I believe the engines (and models) are all the same, but what you have discovered is that the lettering on the left side is in a smaller area due to the space available, and the artwork designer (Bob McDonnell) used different designs to fill each space. Strangely, the word "Railroad" is spelled out in the smaller space, put on another line, but written as "R.R." in the larger space, with the whole name on one line. By the way, if decorating rules don't get too restrictive, I'm hoping to bring "The Little FWRR" back to the Fort for Halloween 2011. I already have a Premium site rese
  16. With all these missing spikes, I'm worried about keeping FWRR3 on the tracks during the parade run today! Happy July 4th!
