I've been up since 3am, still not packed a single peice of clothing for any of us, I did do some laundry, at somepoint I need to go to the grocery store..

I dont even have a list made.. which is very unlike me.. If you look up hot mess in the dictionary.. you'll find my picture there.

Probably going to get fired when I walk out of work at noonish.. I'm strangely ok with that

Judy, I have already put Bob's basin wrench in the camper just in case.  He said he has no problem putting in a faucet for you. 

Hey Kathy, Dave fixed my faucet last night AND installed a sprayer.. he get's 2 points :)

OMG I just realized St. Paddy's day is Monday, I'm craving Corn beef and Cabbage now.. Maybe that's what we will throw together for the potluck on Saturday night..

The good news is whoever was on Dave's site checks out on September 11. Hopefully no more long term campers get a reservation there between that date and when we are planning to be there.

The bad news is Judy's is still taken. So is site #69. But other than that the availability looks great so far. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Boo!  I wonder if I stand in the driveway tapping my foot like I did last year if they will take the hint and move? lol

I loved that site but I'm wide open and flexible as long as we get there I'll be happy :)  And I have sewer hookup's.. I'm truly spoiled now and "ain't" afraid to admit it :)

I'm shooting for around 3ish myself, a new Statement of Work fell on my lap this morning so getting out early maybe a little harder than originally planned, I've already told the kids coaches Saturday isnt happening they are obligated to a higher authority (AKA fort fiends) Kathy, I may take you up on the facuet proposal, I'm having a heck of a time finding one that fit, will try Home Depot tonight, checked 2 Lowes yesterday with no love.

Plugged up the cracker box and low and behold my kitchen faucet cracked from the cold weather..

on the positive side.. none of the other pipes seem to have any issues and I ran water through it for quite a while..

So I guess my first stab at winterizing failed.. but I'm also aware it could have been much worse so I'm not going to let this slow me down.. I hope to replace the faucet this week but if i dont we just wont use it :)

I looked at the Defeated Creek website and put in an arrival date of September 9th staying for 14 days to see how many of the sites we have booked before may be taken.

Bob's site is showing available, but Dave's is not. Neither is the one Judy had last year.

The sites to the other side of where Bob was are showing as available.

Yikes, I didnt know it was time to book.. I guess we should start booking?  Is that the weekend we are doing?

I'm happy a few of the WW are getting to partake, I'm hellaciously sad that you will be there the week after I've left.. BOOOOOOO!!!

Bob is supposed to call Tuesday morning to make ressies, I hope there are still sites available.  Not sure yet just what I am going to make for the pot luck, I am tossing around some things, chilli, Italian sausage who knows.  Will diffinetly have the coffee pot.

We are planning to put a new roof put on the house this week as it is our spring break.  If the weather looks good the whole week we are planning on joining you guys and working on the roof later.

 

This looks like a GRAND gathering and we hope we can come join the fun!  My boys are wanting to see their Fiend Friends again and make new ones as well.  Same for us.

 

Let's hope for a full week of good weather.

Y'all, I'm so excited about this. It truly is an adventure for me! I need to go dig through the camping box to see what all we have and what we might need. Seems like a fun excuse to maybe have to shop!

since this is my last almost free weekend til DeSoto, I had to firm up the menu and get somethings ready, I'll be making pulled pork with Coleslaw for the potluck Saturday night..

and probably some type of veggie..

(oh yea, I've packed the Bailey's for some "coffee" not as tasty as Kathy's but it's sure to pack a punch!!)

Dave, I don't know if it's what you're talking about, but I have a pretty good corn and black bean dip I can bring. It's something I've started bringing to family stuff sometimes. I started counting the days till we go today, hoping that the weather forecast was available. No luck, but we're getting closer! I just thought of one more thing. I could bring the sausage things I always make at fort wilderness that have been featured in my trip reports before, if someone can let me use their microwave or oven to warm them up one morning. Just a thought. They are not really all that, but they can be fun. Last thing – if anyone is looking for some entertainment on Friday afternoon, y'all just come watch Jody and they try to put up the tent without Ray. Should be entertaining. :) Good luck to everyone with those busy schedules between now and then!

My microwave is yours to use and abuse, it isnt big but works just fine and if you need help with the tent don't hesitate to ask, my son is a champ, we tent camped for many years and he has that down to a science, I usually am only good for handing out beverages during the construction phase.. last time I did a tent by myself it collapsed in the middle of the night.. I'll stick to handing out beverges :)

I'd say that's a capital idea.

I am going to bring a whole bunch of biscuits....I like the ones at Sam's and those go good with Judy's gravy. You hear that, Judy??

Also I'll try to bring some Russian beers if anyone wants to hallucinate.

And maybe one of my dips.

Remember that, way back in this thread, I did say this GG wasn't definite for me and the schedule wasn't really worked out.  Unfortunately that's still true, but we'll going to do everything we can to get there.  Especially since I can't make Memorial Day again this year.  

 

Not to mention, you'd all be better off without me there.  More of Judy's sausage gravy for the rest of the you.  I tend to take more than my share.   :smug:

My crazy eyes are fully engaged and will make a trip to Franklin if need be.. I'll override the commander in Chief and shoot straight for the girls.. you wouldn't want a houseful of women on your case now would you??  (even though I suspect that you might have lived through that more than once... )

No worries on the gravy, I'm completely prepared to handle the load..

I saw somewhere that Universal was opening a new value hotel with a 1960's Beach-Hotel theme, I believe it was called Cabana-something and it was already half-open with construction almost done on the other half??  What caught my eye was that it will have a lazy river and huge pool when it is finished  :)

LOL, you must have missed it Dave as I'm sure probably most of the South and a few Northerner's heard my grown, our trip has taken on a little twist.. I have a friend with a son that is 11, Anthony is an only child who has been raised by his father completely on his own his whole life.. this is a hard task as anyone can imagine.. so Anthony is coming to stay with my family for a little while.. this child needs a little love.. my family isn't rich, Lord knows we have our own issues, but love isn't something we are short on.. the kids and I discussed it and it was a unanimous vote.  

Sometimes when you get wrapped up in your own drama, it's easy to lose focus on those that need a little help more than you.. sure does make you appreciate your own messed up life sometimes... anywho
