Ok ladies, here's a list of people that has shown interest.  I really like the idea of the campground at Carowinds, they have the option of cabin's, a lodge and regular campsites, depending on the number of commits will determine the route that we chose.  It's not that far from Charlotte so I don't think it would be a problem for those who flew in.  I plan on driving the Armada so I can always shuttle if need be, I can sit 8 at a time.  For those of us that have a need to hit the park it has some pretty AWESOME looking rides, but also will cater for those of us whom prefer not to leave the PJ's and chairs for the weekend (I personally am a strange mix of the 2, I'm not above riding IN MY PJ's.. )

I love early October leading up to Halloween, all the fesitivies with none of the crowds personally.  We will be there the 4th to the 11th this year!  Whoohoo!

we are all booked and waiting, this will be our first trip of the year whoop whoop!  I invited a family to come along and check out the gorup, they like to sit and chat and drink, they will mesh well with the fiends IMHO..

Happy new year Ft Fiends Family. Being new to this site, some of my questions may be repetitive. So I apologize in advance. My question is, if Disney tells you that the Fort is booked and there is no availability, what are the chances this is true? My son is trying to book a vacation during the holiday period, Dec. 27- Jan. 4,2015. He just called Disney yesterday but Disney tells him there are no availability for this time frame. I have heard there are TAs that mainly handle Ft Wilderness reservations and help out when no one else can. He wants to book ASAP because then he would need to make arrangements to rent the RV packages. Can anyone help? Thank you

I tried this yesterday and was told that it's not showing available because the rates for 2015 (all of the dates) arent released yet.. try again in a few days.. but I could have been mis informed

You know I talk about planning planning planning and truth be told I will think about this everyday and have it all worked out in my mind but I dont think I've ever stuck to any of my plans.. with the little ones it's like trying to herd cats and nail jello to a wall.. it just gives me something to do while I wait :)  patience is not my strong suite..

Did you get quick service or regular? If you got regular, I would make your dining plans at resort restaurants, that way if the kiddos are not feeling a theme park, you don't waste a theme park day just to go eat.

Fall break is back in Northern Alabama!!  This means after 3 years, me and ALL 5 of my monkeys are going to Disney!  Even better, mama bear isn't paying for this trip, my "baby daddy" is so we booked a premium site, dining and 4 day tickets from 10/4 - 10/11.  I have never done all that before, when mama pays we go the cheapest route possible :)  I wish it was at Halloween but I've accepted that until the monkeys are out of school it isn't feasible.   I hope there are a few straggler fiends around during that time and I'm new to this dining thing so I'll be looking for advice on that one.  I'm slightly excited, can you tell??  :thewave1: :partythree: :banana: :studsmatta-smiley:

So Mo, Southwest flies into Nashville.  Have you scheduled time off from work to join us at Defeated Creek in September?  Someone is sure to have room for you in their camper.  One of us could pick you up from the airport.  

Yvonne your a genius, we could pick up all the Northern WW there and drag them to Defeated Creek.. that place would never be the same!

Yup - that sounds about right.   I've driven to Richmond and even the NC border in one whack on the first night of our trip south.  It's about 10 hours.

I could entertain that area, it's roughly about 7 hours for me to that part of the country, do-able if it gets me some WW time..

Unfortunately for some Womenz, long holiday weekends are the only ones that are doable.

 

MLK weekend was a bunch cheaper than our previous date of Pres weekend.  And since not everyone can or wants to go to the parks, in terms of crowds, it's not really that big a deal.

 

And Judy's actually suggesting a summer WWW elsewhere - where it's not so crowded, expensive or hot.

Really wish I could be there but Gaitlinburg is outside my range for even a long weekend.
