We made our first Fort trip June of 1988. Our oldest ds18 had graduated from high school and would be joining the AirForce in the Fall.
We found this in a local auto salvage yard and spent the winter restoring it.
I learned more about Bondo and fiberglass than I ever wanted to but it was worth. We ended up here.
We went to Breakfast with Chip and Dale
ds18
ds15
ds12
Another highlight was the Hoop-de-Doo Revue
My son the star.
Waiting for the chicken and enjoying the show. Ds5 and dd4
I know I have more pictures somewhere. I think I gave some too the kids. It was a great vacation. Seven people in a Transvan and tent roughing it. But what a way to rough it

If you go to the "Around the World & Beyond" thread, you'll see the latest official advisory regarding Toontown.
Barnstormer will get a bright new look, featuring Goofy as The Great Goofini.
Is it sad that as an adult I love Barnstormer

I always took my kids out for 10 days each year. I always tried to make sure that there was no testing going. For us it was the only time we could go. Summers were and still our our busiest time of the year for our business. Fortunately our school system was always willing to work with us.

We almost always get to the Fort around 11 a.m. Been pretty lucky, all but one trip were were able to get on our site right away.
That time we went to the overflow lot and had lunch. By the time we were finished we got a call saying our site was ready.

In 25 years of going to the Magic Kingdom I think it was only open twice. It is one our favorites too

Great report. Setting up all by yourself, I am very proud of you.
We call our Garmin Beatrice, we argue with her all th time, she has no sense of direction
Can't wait to read more

Somone here suggested I try a calming collar formy jumpy puppy - they are pretty expensive but they also claim to help with car sickness. You may want to look into it - Whip
That was me Whip. Did you get one?
I checked out Petco and Tractor supply - neither seems to carry it in stock. I am going to order it online on Monday.
Walmart has them too. They are a little cheaper there, but they ahve a stronger scent and makes me sneeze. My son uses the Walmart one for his dog and it works just fine too.

Our dog hates the 20min ride to the lake where we camp. she hates the boat, and shakes like a leaf at the groomer. There isn't enough room in the truck so we thought about putting her in a pet taxi and putting her in the tag along. We would stop every 2 hours or so to let her out. Isn't there something the vet can give them like a doggie sleeping pill? I really want to take her but I am struggling on getting her all the way to florida. Any suggestions
Gina, I have a houseful of paranoid nervous chihuahuas. The vet me gave some drops for them. It's HomeoPet Anxiety. It works like a charm. It was $14.95 from the vet but I found a site where you can get for $9.95. I can't remember which site. HomeoPet has a site too. It was the same price there as at the vet's.

Check all the stores like Walmart kmart Sears, you get the idea. Look in the clearance section. You might be too late for this year though.

stitch, sounds dangerous, & circle of life
The one time we were going to see Circle of Life something went wrong and they emptied the theater. I took it as an omen

Come on Nicki, we know you are singing it :rofl2:
-
it's a world of laughter, a world or tears
its a world of hopes, its a world of fear
theres so much that we share
that its time we're aware
its a small world after all
CHORUS:
its a small world after all
its a small world after all
its a small world after all
its a small, small world
There is just one moon and one golden sun
And a smile means friendship to everyone.
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small small world
YOU are just not right... and I'm not reading it.
lmao but your humming it
All together now :rofl2:

Magic Kingdom I believe. In Fantasyland?

Shan, very well said, I agree with almost all of it!!! DHS in general needs a LOT of work. The back lot is a waste of space, and all the buildings etc in that area are just storage now.
I have to be the one to say tho.... It's a small world SUCKS, so boring and lame, I know I will get flamed, but it had to be said...
this is probably gonna sound lame but I miss the animation studios. There was something very cool about walking through while they were working on pictures or just painting the cells. I was very disappointed to find out they'd removed it.
This may make me unpopular as well but the only thing I'd want to do over and over again at DHS is Toy Story Mania. I guess I'm just not that into movies. I don't think it's worth the ticket or park hoper price for just the one thing. I think on future trips we will rotate between AK and DHS thus cutting out one ticket every trip.
Although, I wouldn't say it's a small world sucks... I do avoid it because of the song. It plagues me for days!!
We do the same thing . I can't find enough in either park to want to stay a whole day. And I liked the Animation Studio too

Stitch's Great Escape. Ugh! I'd rather clean the tomorrowland bathrooms that go there...
If you need any help let me know. At least I would be doing something productive

OOOOHHHHHH !!!! I must have one !!!!!
Even though I vowed to ease up on my Disney collection I need one of those.

Well let me just tell you, I love putt putt at Disney. Winter-Summerland is my favorite. It has a Christmas theme. It is next to Blizzard Beach. If you want to play during the day I believe you take the BB bus. I'm not sure cause we always drive and play at night.
Fantasia gardens is fun too. It is across from the Swan and Dolphin. One side is themed to Fantasia and the other is like a regular golf course both are fun.
Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure we're going to stay at the Forsyth KOA in December on our way down. I'm just worried where we're going to stay on the way home. It will probably be cold and snowy.
We live in Michigan and in the Winter we usually stop at Harvest Moon. We can make it home from there. We tried going further North a couple of times but it was too cold and several of the campsites that were open didn't have water.

I have a Disney Chase Visa also and haven't used it for a while now so when someone mentioned that their interest rate was 13 % I thought boy that's high and I decided to take a look at my last statement back in October and was shocked to see that the interest rate was 16.24 % WHAT I couldn't beleive that . When we first got the card it was 9.9%.
I know for a fact that my credit score is great and we don't owe any credit card debt, we just bought a motorhome so I called Chase and let me tell you that they have the worse customer service I have dealt with in a long time. She was so rude and was talking 90 to nothing blah blah blah about God only knows what . When my dh comes home I'm going to have him cancel the card, they can shove it . That's highway robbery. :rofl2:
We don't use ours anymore either, but my husband won't cancel it because it says " Charter Cardmember since day 1"
And he tries to tell me he doesn't like Disney :kickinass:

What dates are you coming in November?
Our dates now are Nov 27-Dec 3. Our daughter is coming with us now. Mama did well she loves Disney and the Fort as much as I do.
I really need to get my ticker back up. Is there somewhere else to go besides Distickers?

I'm getting confused. Just answered your other post now I see you re-booked the Fort good for you. Are u rebooking the cruise??
I wish. We had to lend some financial aid to our oldest son and family. He is stationed in SC, but is in South Korea until June I think.
Anyway 17 year old grandaughter racked up a $1200 text messaging bill  Let's just say she is lucky her Dad is out of the country.
To make a long story short we thought we would need to cancel both trips, but figured November is far enough off that we should be able to go.
Maybe I will finally meet some of you then.

I honestly think I have more separation anxiety than the dogs do. I am fortunate though because my daughter will take all 5 of them when we go places that they can't go.
