  1. Just had to cancel my November Fort trip and the September Fiend Cruise. Oldest stepson who is stationed in South Korea with the Air Force has run into some difficulties. Family first right. So no trips for us this year.

Great news, we are going to be able to keep our Fort trip afterall :rofl2:  Nov 27- Dec 3. We will also have our daughter tagging along.

    p.s. I am a mom of 5 too. 4 boys and a girl

Wow you must have amazing patience!!  We have 3 girls and 2 boys.  The boys are a handful!  We have issues but still they try our patience daily. I have one home sick today and will be for a few days more.  So there should be some peace here for a few days, can't get into too much trouble when you can hardly get off the couch.

    Thanks again!!

My patience was worn thin many times. They are all grown up now and I have 5 granddaughters. I have to tell you the oldest 3 are my stepsons, but since I raised them from the time they were 9, 6 and 3 I figure it counts.

Take care of your little one, I hope it doesn't go through the whole house. I had 3 with chicken pox all at the same time. Closest I ever came to a divorce. My husband went bowling on his off night and left me with a 6yr old, a 21 month old and a 6 month old.

All three were in the hardest part of being sick.

Oh well I survived we all do

  3. You will need to scrape off all the loose stuff that you painted on. Power washing works the easiest. Then clean with a good non petroleum based cleaner. We like Black Streak Remover.

    Then apply elasto metric sealer.

Your other option is a new rubber roof. Check with your insurance as this is sometimes covered.

If you have other questions please check out the "Ask Mike' thread in Camp Tech Talk.

We are glad to answer all of you outside the RV questions

I just asked Mike about your roof. He says it can be done but, you need to remove the whole roof take it apart. Save the outer skin and replace all the wood.

He says it is a lot of work and expensive unless you can do the work yourself. If you are planning on selling anyway, you should sell it as is and not bother with a repair.

Let me know if you have further questions. I have just started a new thread on the Camp Tech Talk section.

    Have a nice day :nyd:

  5. We have a 1996 Palimino Pony...small!  The roof was not in great shape when we got it but the inside looks brand new.  The thing is tiny inside but I liked it.  We have kept a cover tarp on it since we have had it yet water still came thru.  We did loose the tarp a few times but it was always replaced pretty quick.  I am guessing the damage happened while the camper was opened and we didn't have a tarp on it. What can I do to repair the roof both inside and out?  It's pretty soft.  Any suggestions.  Probably going to be selling it soon anyway. :-\

    Hi momoffive,

I will ask my husband when he comes home at lunch time and get back to you.

  6. Have him post it here if you can so it will be here for other people!

    thanks,

    Dan

I will try and get him to post. But he is a bigger technology cripple than I am.  :bday: I was thinking of posting our numbers on the tech board. Or starting an Ask Mike thread. do you think that would be a good idea? Our business is enclosed and utility trailers. We also sell RV supplies and do repairs on RV's. Nothing on the inside, but anything on the outside. You name it he has probably repaired it. :))

So I guess what I am saying is if you have a question I can ask him and then post it. The one thing I can say is he is always willing to help.

  7. Anyone ever use the paint on stuff on their rubber roof?...What were your results?

We were noticing that our roof was looking a little dried out. We saw some of the white color coming down onto the blacktop of the driveway after a rain. Went to the dealership..they gave us some of this roll on rubber roof sealer.

Um...well, it pealed off.  :rofl2: I'm not sure what we did wrong there. Other than it was probably only around 60 degrees when it was applied, and then we didn't get a chance to cover the roof this year before we got hit with an earlier than expected snow. Pretty much there's been snow up there since Dec. With a few warm days..it's all gone, but we noticed the stuff we rolled on in the late fall, is literally pealing off like the skin on an orange. Didn't seem to do any damage to the orginal roof. Just sort of put us back to where we started.

    Suggestions?.....Where did we go wrong.

    Auntie,

This is what we do for a living. Lucky for you my husband is home sick today. Not so lucky for him. He says the roll on stuff that the dealer gave you is shit. His words not mine. He has a fix for you. I will pm you with our phone number and you can give him a call. He is happy to answer any of your questions.

  8. I'm a dork too. Some of the best CM interactions we have had we with the bus drivers :rofl2:

Last August, my daughter and I were staying at French Quarter. It was hot, still in the 80's at 10:00 p.m. I got dehydrated and felt like I might pass out. When we got to our bus stop I sat down on a bench and my daughter went to get a wheel chair for me. While she was gone another bus came. After it unloaded the driver noticed me sitting there and asked if I was alright. I told what was going on and he stayed there with me until my daughter came back.

My only regret was that I didn't remember to get his name.

    Bus drivers rule

  9. Rhonda is very nice.

The bad news is my daughter backed out of our January cruise, so I had to cancel it  :(

The good news is my husband and I are going on the Fort Fiends Cruise. :rofl2:

I will tell everyone I know who cruises just how helpful Rhonda is :bighug:

  10. Eagle's Roost RV Resort, Exit 5 in Georgia, This is a good one! https://www.eaglesroostresort.com/

We've stayed here too a couple of times and liked it very much.

For a spot north of ATL on I-75, we have stayed at this place:

http://harvestmoonrvpark.com/index.html  Not bad for an overnight.  Big, level pull throughs in the front section.  Easy on and off I-75.  About half way between Chattanooga and Atlanta.

We :rofl2: harvest moon. I always call it Heavenly Rest
