  1. I wonder what the "safety concern" is?

Selfies Twice As Deadly As 'Unprovoked' Shark Attacks

2, 3. Two Russian men were killed while taking a selfie with a hand grenade.

4,5,6. Three Indian students were killed by an oncoming train while taking selfies on train tracks.

    7. A Romanian teenager was electrocuted when she was taking a selfie on top of a train and touched a high-voltage wire.

    8. A Russian teen was also electrocuted after touching live wires while taking a selfie near railway tracks.

    9. A Russian woman shot herself in the head while trying to take a selfie with a gun.

    10. A woman in Moscow City died falling from a bridge, where she was trying to take a selfie.

Maybe the Darwin Awards should be expanded to multiple categories.

  2. Mark shared one more pic on our Facebook page that I didn't grab before I became computer-less for the weekend...

    Thanks again, Mark!

They better bollard the crap out of it or install curbing 4' away or that roof overhang will be toast in a month.

I like the update. It eliminates the criss-cross after and probably brings up-to-date technology (whether or not it works...).

What's going on at main check-in? Is that to add another lane or replace the existing kiosk?

  3. Now you tell me. I am pretty obsessive about the girls' having an extra set of keys, copies of important papers, etc. We made sure both of them had all of that before we left. The problem was the extra set was in the car with the main set. D'oh.

Very true. It's a story that will be told over and over again, I'm sure. We had a great morning, and were making great time. We loved Buc-eee's, so thanks for that recommendation. We stopped for lunch in Junction, TX, and drove for another 2 1/2 hours or so. I was surprised by how desolate west Texas is. At exit 261, we decided to stop to switch drivers. Look it up on a map- we were in the middle of nowhere. The funniest thing happened there- we were coming out of a little convenience store, and the twins' soon to be DCP roommate came walking in! She and her mom had left South Carolina on Sunday. They knew she was also crossing Texas today, but we thought they were well ahead of us. The chances of them showing up at the same place at the same time have to be close to zero. But there she was. The girls did what girls do- lots of a screaming and giggling. Then it was time to go. Twin #2 wasn't paying attention, and locked her keys in the trunk.

Thank God for AAA. We called, and they sent a guy from a town an hour away. He had a call to do before ours, but at least he came. The good thing for us is that we had a safe and comfortable place to wait. It could have been way worse. Except for the delay, we had a great day. No rain. Not bad traffic. Just a lot of miles.

    Ughhh.

    Glad it all worked out.

  4. Thank you so much for all of your replies! You helped me convince my husband to take an alternate route. We are going to take 301 to bypass Baltimore. Now my husband doesn't want to wait until Ruther Glen to get on 95. He wants to do 301 to 50 (at Bowie) to 495 to 95 all around DC. Bad idea???

Again, depends on time of day. We were forced this way since there was construction on a railroad crossing that had closed 301 further south at the time. Spent an extra 2-3 hours in traffic thru all of 495 and 95 down to Fredericksburg.

Maybe at that point you can look at the traffic on Google Maps and make a decision on the fly.

    Enjoy.

  5. I would avoid the Baltimore tunnels, not worth the chance or the fine. Get off the last exit in Del for 301 south and follow 301 into Va. and get back on 95 one exit above Kings Dominion, a much nicer ride no DC traffic to deal with. Some say it is not a better way but we prefer it to the 95 rat race.

What Rennie said. Avoids the tunnels and the Baltimore-DC area altogether. Get back on at Ruther Glen.

  6. • Pixar Place will expand further, moving into the place where the Studio Backlot Tour used to exist, supposedly with three new attractions. (No word yet on what those will be.) Donnelly theorizes that construction could already be underway behind closed gates to allow a quicker opening, a practice Universal Studios has employed to great effect.

Put all the Star Wars junk you want in there, just give me CarsLand.

  7. It looks like y'all are stumped with this one.

What we know so far-  it's not in Norway or Germany at Epcot, and those stones are supposed to represent the trolls from Frozen.

Here's a few clues- it's not in Epcot, it's a new display (I'm guessing it showed up in June), and it is in one of the other three WDW theme parks.

I thought maybe Devores would know where this is- I think there are Photopass photographers in the area of this display to take photos.

I would think it's a display in DHS, part of the Coolest Summer event. No clue as to where.
