  1. Ya, you can order both full menus at both places. We always sit at the sushi bar and order sushi, wings, and a steak and split it all. One of our favorite meals. I've been given the stink eye too many times at Kona to risk it without a reservation.
  2. Oh, I love those mongolian beef things. There is a restaurant that has those here and they are called "steamed buns". Of course my brother and I couldn't remember that and proceeded to order the hot buns, soft buns, warm buns, small buns, cute buns....
  3. Dave, love the gift of the scotch glass. That is very sweet. Your parents seem to be really great. We did the same thing a few days later with my parents, show them around and spent some good quality time for 24 hours. I owe my parents my love of the fort, they raised me pop up camping there. :)
  4. Great food pics! We have had the margherita pizza as well as that shrimp and bean salad and loved them both. We also had the Sangria and it was really tasty. A pitcher was good for two and reasonably priced.
  5. While you were doing all that nonsense, MD and FoB enjoyed a nice relaxing fire/beer tasting. Next year, that's what we should all do. It was relaxing, peaceful, and we all got to bond quite a bit. Bella said a few times "This is the BEST night of my life!!!" And no, she did not get any beer. I can see where that could be confusing. BTW, where is MD? I think he has a TR to begin. I know he's got great pics.
  6. Wow!! I was just telling Rick about the "great place to get lost" excuse. Hmmmm
  7. We got there the same day at 11:00 and the whole place was stopped like a parking lot. Then police on motorcycles started yelling at people and making it worse and they completely closed the right lane. Then we realized why. The Nebraska football team was coming through in a big group full of buses. So that's why we all had to sit there and get screamed at. MK was closed. Who wants to bet the football team still got in?
  8. Not to beat the recommendation for The Wave to death, but that is the butter they use on the sweet potato pancakes! We just eat the pancakes like cookies b/c they are so good plain and then we just eat the butter with a fork.
  9. We are exactly the same and have the TIW card. I think it's the way to go just based on the low stress of it, no worries about how many of this, how many of that. For example, sometimes Rick and I do a signature, but we would prefer to sample some appetizers and split an entree, no dessert, etc. So it gives you Freedom. We have saved a TON of money with our card. Also, we are there locally and staying with family sometimes so no dining plan but still get the discount. A bunch of counter service takes it too, always ask. Specifically I remember Pizza planet, Flame tree, all the bars and
  10. For RF, switch to the pancakes. They don't even need syrup, they are delicious. Or go to The Wave and get the sweet potato pancakes with pecan butter. omg. It's not counter service, but you don't need a reservation and its quiet and peaceful and not too pricey. And they also have key lime eggs benedict. We had breakfast there 4 times this trip.
  11. Glad we were able to meet too! That was "show my parents the best 24 hours at the Fort" time, so we were really packing it in. We did a ton. Including hunt you down. Very important. We met so many fiends in the 24 hours my parents were there that I think they were starting to wonder about us. Who are these people? Why do they know all of these things about you? Is this where you met those folks you went to Key West with? What's really going on with that website of yours... Sorry we didn't get to meet up again, it was super nice of you to offer to show us how our pop up works, so thank
  12. Hey! Those firefighters were there the Saturday after thanksgiving. What's the deal? Do they do this a lot? Not that I'm complaining. I might pull up a chair next time.
  13. Your RMOG group were our neighbors. When I saw that kitchen set up I could not believe my eyes. They invited us to breakfast one morning, said he was cooking for so many, we may as well join. They took up at least 15 sites. They came over and asked about our sign. I told them to come over and introduce themselves on the boards. She said she would. They are the Wolf family, so she said their name would be wolfpack. Begin hijack: One thing that was not my fav this trip was all the darn groups. Great for them, Im sure they all had a great time, but it got a little crazy. We tried to loop
  14. Hey now, I was one of those savages you speak of in the 2000 loop. Did you see my sign?
  15. Wait...campground is dry or church gathering is dry? I'm confused. Im also a church going gal (not that you are a gal, but you get the point), but seriously, is there such thing as a dry park? I'm looking forward to the TR, and also looking forward to seeing yall at the fort. Now, what do we have to do to get back in that darn 1500 loop?!
  16. Amy! I just realized you are the one who left us a Thanksgiving card last week. Is that right? If so, you made our day. That was very sweet!
  17. Brent, I coincidentally just saw this after our first trip last week and found it interesting b/c I also thought the instability was maddening in our old pop. But then our TT did the same thing. Hated it. New pop up, no a noise, creak, solid as a rock. You saw Rick, he's a big guy. When he would roll over in bed we would wake the campground!! We couldn't believe how solid the new pop up is! Our four corner stability jacks were really solid and are definately doing the job. I think this is less of a pop up thing than it is an individual thing/how well it is set up and level. Amy, We lea
  18. Yay, first time on the first page! We were there too, sorry we didn't run into you guys. We had the same ordeal at checkin, there were 3 open sites in 1500 but they were under contract for a big group. We have been told that sites cannot be held, only empty sites that have been officially checked into in person can be held. But the story has changed. Sad part for us, we looped through the first three days of our trip and one of those open sites sat empty. We were offered an upgrade to 800, which was nice, but I was so scatterbrained by this point that I just said nevermind. Bell's very
