  1. The Fort is not going anywhere. It is written into the Disney By-Laws, ever since Walt landed his seaplane on Bay Lake and set about mowing the grass around the Settlement to have a place to camp. He leaned the mower against a fast growing tree and decided at that moment that the land he had just mowed should be made into a campground in perpetuity. That very next day, he and Roy celebrated by diving into the nearby swimmin hole. Unfortunately, Walt contracted a brain eating amoeba that day. Doctors tried freezing his brain to halt the spread of the amoeba but it was to no avail. Lucky for us, Roy carried out Walt's plans, and to this day we have the Fort to enjoy.

    This made it worse

  2. Doug, I'm gonna be honest here and say that you've dragged this tr on so long, I'm not sure if I've commented or not! I was going to go back and look so that I don't embarrass myself by repeating everything, but heck, I'll just comment anyway. If it all sounds familiar, we will know why.

We have stayed at bluewater. Back when we had our tt. Loved it. Had the place to ourselves. Spent the days in the pool and the nights on duval. Had friends with us. Great time. Would definately recommend the resort. Did they redo the pool? They said they were going to right after we left. It needed it.

We always go to the dessert place which i wont name for little eyes that may be reading. We actually have an annual anniversary trip to key west with friends and make a reservation. A great place for an adults only date. The food is fantastic.

    Looks like a great christmas!!

  3. Thank you!

The pose is a result, I think, of one of those lazy mistakes that parents make when they get older.

You know how you are fairly diligent on what you let your kids watch? Yeah, well someday you won't be. We let Stella and Anna watch Barbie, Life in the Dreamhouse. It's her favorite thing on Netflix. I do have to admit, the show is pretty funny. But she learned some real diva moves from watching it. Including the pose.

I also have a bumper sticker on my van that was inspired by that show. Anyone who watches it should get this....."Equipped With Golden Schlond Poofa".

That's funny. I knew she had to have actually seen the pose somewhere. And don't worry, you could do far worse than life in the dreamhouse. Like bratz. Or monster teenieboppers. Or whatever else those shows are called that smb.

Speaking of monkey butts, I can't believe you actually returned to THE original. I wonder how many people go on that ride and don't realize that they are in the very place that started it all.

  4. I was going to do the whole numbered list answer thing but I have baby brain, so here's what I've got:

Mosquitoes love me and the only time I've only had an issue is July. I stayed in the screen room when outside. May is okay I think.

We are walkers. I walk from everywhere to everywhere. You can get anywhere in 15-20 min walk. Most likely more like 10. 100 to meadows is a nice walk. Go up the middle. You will know what that means when you look at the map.

Late arrival is a non issue. We've gotten there at 1 am. They will welcome you and you set up in the dark. Less wiggle room on "I don't like this site, I want that one"

Crowds and your son....that's a case by case. Sometimes our neighbors have kids that think its acceptable to come on over and play in the morning while their parents sleep. (I have no words). Sometimes there are dogs. It's luck of the draw. Not a "how busy" issue. Unfortunately. Traffic is usually pretty slow in the loop. So if he crosses without looking in the loop he will be okay. I don't let my 8 year old anywhere near the main roads without my hand. The buses are CLOSE.

Everything makes more sense when you get there. It's my most favorite place to be! Have fun!

  5. When they were in Pollo, we tried some stuff. Literally tasted like dog food. And I eat super clean and healthy. Most people think what I eat tastes like dog food. This was no good. DD thought we were messing with her. Bad.

That said, this could be different. I will give it a second chance.

I'm just still mad that Pollo closed and I can't get the watermelon sangria anymore. That thing was killer. Gold star to anyone who can find me one of those. The fruit in those had been "marinating" for a loooong time.

  6. How old is little guy? Ours is 6 months and I am so excited for that walking playing stage. I remember with my first that it really gets more and more fun (and easy!!!) every day at a certain point. Just can't remember exactly when that point starts!

Can't wait for our first trip back to the fort with him. With my daughter it was at 18 months and we said we could have done it waaaay sooner. She enjoyed it so much. Loved the characters.

The first haircut thing, totally happening!! Those ears!!! He is darling. Good work.

  7. Got the Filet, cooked rare, and our table split a bunch of sushi. Couple bottles of a nice Pinot Noir. My wife had the Bison steak, which was also amazing.

Steak was perfect and so was the sushi. Had the homemade fritters for dessert. Yum.

Best part was that they packed the half a bottle of ine we had left in a box with some plastic cups, and we were able to finish it while watching Wishes on the roof deck.

    Sounds like the perfect meal!
